well hello, everybody. I have been quite busy today, but I hope to have some spare moments in which to make comments when apropos.
  3:38pm
DCE:

Like now.
  3:39pm
Cheri Pi:

I like the idea of Champipple very much!
  3:43pm
still b/p:

Had no reason to think about Phyllis Diller recently. But when I looked up some quick info on Mimi Pond, a scheduled 7SD guest this week, I found her cartoon and comments on Phyllis Diller. That was a few hours ago. Now Phyllis Diller is dead.
  3:45pm
Honey Water:

@Carm: Your wife would have been proud of my bank moment earlier this afternoon. Round two a TKO to me! :)
  3:46pm
DCE:

nice Mac track
  3:49pm
Honey Water:

Um, Tim, are you passing that bottle around?
  3:51pm
still b/p:

YES! Delicious!
  3:51pm
Honey Water:

@s b/p: :( Philo told me at lunch that producer Tony Scott (Ridley's brother) launched himself from a bridge.

tim from champaign:

Yeah, here you go. Have a belt.
  3:51pm
DCE:

Jim Backus and that laugh...
  3:51pm

This Backus & Diller thing would work perfectly with Ken Nordine's "Hunger is From" ... but this is unbelievably cool...

heyo scott and peoples. i like it too!

TY, Tim. [glug, glug] A David against Goliath victory swig! Whom do I pass to next?

Scott parked, climbed a fence, jumped. Left a note. Diller, Scott and...whom for the tired ol' trifecta trope?

Hands across the water -- here you go, Bas! Some champipipple courtesy of Tim from Champaign.

Nice work, Honey. I'm still in fighting mode, floating like a butterfly.
Also Scott, Scott McKenzie just passed on. Hope he finds his own San Francisco.
  3:58pm

Bas, NL:

I once built a Kaoss pad in the body of a guitar.. warp while you play: awesome effects!!
  4:01pm
Bas, NL:

@Honey Water: Cheers!! ;D
  4:01pm
ambrose:

Hey Scott, does the studio have the old silver KP-1 Kaoss Pad, or the downsized version? I've often used mine in a send/return config on a Mackie 1202-VLZ. At worst, you can kind of hear the grid steps when you sweep certain effects, and it produces quite a bit of bg noise.
  4:02pm
still b/p:

That talkover music a moment ago....
Pipple,
Pipple who champipple,
Are the lushiest pipple...
  4:03pm
Honey Water:

@Carm: Well, that's one down and still one to go for me. Still don't know how I missed the headline "Banks Declare War on Depositors!"
  4:03pm
BSI:

Cheri: whut? I saw a post somewhere on Brock's birthday a week or two ago and went all facebook with it. Now I'm clearly a mis-informed hack. Some fan I turned out to be. Commence space-pouting....
  4:03pm
Honey Water:

Heh, s b/p! Thank goodness the world is still blessed by your presence and cleverness.
  4:04pm
ambrose:

The KP-1's larger pad made it a decent guitar effect unit, as you can work the pad easily with your toes. Try it sometime. It sounds great with my old Danelectro and a Tube Screamer.
  4:05pm
Cheri Pi:

@BSI- here's one source: http://ibirthdayworld.blogspot.com/2010/08/celebrity-birthdays-on-august-20.html

Cheri Pi:

what???Phil Lynott was born on August 20, 1949. !!!
  4:06pm
Carmichael:

I didn't know Dimebag Darryl was still alive.
  4:08pm
BSI:

Thanks CP. It effectively makes me some kind of space-rock stalker from birth, since his birthday is one week after mine, and my last name is eerily close to his band, etc... dang.
  4:09pm
Cheri Pi:

that's because you're a silver machine BSI!
  4:12pm

Bas, NL:

We had a record 95°F yesterday.. i had a nice and slowwww day!
  4:32pm
Jorge:

Bas i will be in Amsterdam and Tilburg during the first week of September, i need some advice about outfit.
  4:34pm
BSI:

jeezus. I want autumn so badly... Just the sight of a medium-weight dark brown jacket at a thrift store this weekend made me want to weep openly... Those soul-tearing, deep wracking sobs that seem rooted somewhere down in the primitive depths of birth-trauma...
  4:36pm
DCE:

I had some nice autumnal-type camping in the hills of Western Maryland this weekend. Heat be damned!
  4:36pm
still b/p:

You need a "Burning Leafpile" scented candle. Just go back....go back...
  4:36pm
Bas, NL:

@Jorge: What do you need to know?
  4:38pm
Jorge:

@Bas just whats the weather like in september, never been there before.
  4:38pm
Honey Water:

Oh, sorry. I kept hearing "sunny!" all day from those across the water but, yeah, we're *very* familiar with too much of a good thing here in the midwest.
@BSI: Won't exactly be autumn, but you just might get our overnight temps in the 50s -- delicious! -- tomorrow if not already.
  4:40pm
BSI:

Close, HoneyWater, so close... And DCE: if you were up Catoctin Mtn Park or thereabouts (near Thurmont MD), them's my primal stomping grounds. Favorite place to be whenever Autumn DOES finally hit...
  4:41pm
DCE:

Deep Creek Lake. Nice area.
  4:42pm
Bas, NL:

@Jorge: It's been really warm last few years, so i'm sure you're fine with at most a light jacket for the nights.
  4:44pm
Jorge:

@Bas, really nice since i really have to travel "light"
  4:47pm
Cheri Pi:

this Danish Psyche is doing the right things to me
  4:51pm

I just heard fear in your voice Scott.
  4:53pm

OK, back again. Beta Band! Nice call, Scott.

Scott W:

Sorry I'm a little offlist here today folks, giving myself too much shit tado!
  5:02pm
Mark in VT:

I got box full of marathon swag over the weekend. For some reason John Allen's shot glass was checked off as sent but not in the box. Hmm. It is either a message/reminder to me no drinky or one of the volunteers used it to take some shots and got so spinned forgot to put it in the box. Because there was a paper wrapper with nothing in it kinda wrapped like it was supposed to have a shot glass in it.
  5:08pm
Honey Water:

To sum up: Shot Not Got.
  5:12pm
Rodri:

Love the Fjose tune, Thanks like always!!
  5:14pm
Rodri:

Aguaturbia continue playing in Chile, they are the coolest Chilean 60s band that play in our years...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm
Scott W:

Ack! Sorry Mark, email me offlist & I'll make sure you get the shotglass this week
  5:16pm
Mark in VT:

Oh I don't care about the glass. Just thought it was funny. The swag is very generous.
  5:17pm
Honey Water:

Welp, gotta go whip up some jambalaya. Dinner decision a direct result from seeing Beasts of the Southern Wild this weekend. I'll be kitchen-listening -- thanks, Scott!

Chow-ciao to y'all!
  5:28pm
Mark in VT:

I mean I do care about the glass because it is special from John's swag but I mean I don't like need it sent. I always feel humbled when the swag comes because it is a lot for what pledged. You get to give money to something you love already unconditionally AND you get stuff in return.
  5:32pm
Carmichael:

Is that the Who buried in the background?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37pm

  5:55pm
Mark in VT:

Sounds like AC/DC is buried underneath this.
  6:00pm
the glowing one:

Seems there's a radio DJ buried underneath there, too.
  6:01pm

Thanks Scott!

Fjose falls squarely into the category of, "I have no idea what on earth is going on here but I absolutely love it!"
  2:32pm
bug chimp:

actually, the interwebs indicate the the name of the band is "Holy Toy" and "Fjøse" is the name of the album.
