Bonjour Pierre! OK, Dave, hope you found the song!
  12:42pm fred von helsing:

front to back, good stuff :-D
  12:43pm ?:

I'd love a tuna melt right about now, with some fries, and a Mountain Dew. Maybe a piece of banana cream pie. Wow. Sounds so good. So do you, Joe.
  12:48pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Hello all Belockers! "Out of Time" helped me along a jammed Belt Pkwy. Don't know how fellow jamm-ees felt about my sing-along though.
  12:53pm Parq:

Way-cool reading of "Everything".
  12:54pm Cheri Pi:

Yes!!! Slits!!!
  12:56pm Dave B:

Saw JPK & 1,4,5s on Saturday at a friends house concert series in Rhode Island. Good Stuff!
  12:58pm the glowing one:

I wonder if there's one song that has been covered so many times that you could make a whole 3 hour show with its cover versions
  1:02pm Dave Harrison:

Probably Louie Louie.
  1:05pm Jameson's man:

sounds great! Ernie, star of FMU!
  1:06pm Melody:

I downloaded a compilation of Peter Gunn covers that took up two CDs, and my brother found a similar MacArthur Park one.
  1:06pm the glowing one:

I'm hearing "hurricane sugar" :/
  1:07pm Joe NP:

The only song worth playing covers of for three hours is "Hey Joe".
  1:12pm Dave Harrison:

Or that "Call Me Maybe" song that the kids are all so crazy about.
  1:17pm chris dot com:

wow this is great. they playing local anytime soon?
  1:18pm chris dot com:

...just missed them. awesome
  1:18pm hellosmith:

OW OWWW!
  1:20pm Dave B:

@chris.com - from Rhode Island this past Saturday they were heading to D.C. and then Europe in a week or so.

The morning after R.I. I found JPK's pedal board left on the side of the porch they played on. I hope he got it back in time.
Avatar 1:22pm Joe B:

Chris, they just played Maxwells and Grand Victory last week, sorry!
  1:26pm Parq:

Beware of the Blog did a great post years ago with a whole bunch of "Harlem Nocturne" covers.
  1:29pm John L.:

Great set!!! Picked up a slow day.
  1:30pm Joe NP:

@Parq - and Tico Tico!
  1:31pm Dave B:

I had a friend in High School who's dad collected version of "House Of The Rising Sun"

I forget how many he had, but it was quiet extensive.
  1:33pm Dave Harrison:

Isn't "Yesterday" by the Beatles the most covered song of all time? I think I read that somewhere once.
  1:38pm mark vt:

I lived in Ashland City back in the early-mid 90's. Used to work in Nashville. Funny he would mention batman because there is, at least back then, a big highrise building in Nashville that people would call the batman building. It was shaped like the batman mask.
  1:38pm Mike East:

All Along the Watchtower is highly covered. I went through a period when I was younger tracking down different versions.
  1:42pm mark vt:

oh, yeah. I just did a quick check and the batman building in Nashville is the AT&T building. Geez been so long since I was there.
  1:48pm Boyle:

@Dave: Yes, I believe Yesterday has been covered over 1000 times. Of course, Jim Nabors did the definitive version.
  1:51pm Boyle:

The Merry-Go-Round ... I think Emmitt Rhodes was in that band. I have them on an A&M compilation LP with Claudine Longet, Chris Montez, Boyce and Hart, Tijuana Brass, and other essential artists.
  1:54pm tim from champaign:

JPK sounded like a real nice guy. Great set!
Avatar 2:02pm Joe B:

Glad you dug it Tim!

be easy to do a while show of Hey Joe, Summertime Blues, several others
  2:03pm SteveL:

Thinking I need to pick up the Nervebreakers soon.
Avatar 2:03pm Joe B:

sorry, behind on the comments! thanks everyone for listening/commenting! Hope everyone dug JPK and the One Four Fives! if you are tuning in for Guitar Lightnin Lee, they had to cancel and hustle back to New Orleans ahead of the hurricane
  2:12pm John L.:

The Electric Mess/Mighty Fine show in Kingston NY, on 9/2, has been cancelled. Last minute fill-in: Hacienda!!!
Avatar 2:13pm Joe B:

wow, not one call for tickets! guess no one likes hacienda or Ribeye Brothers or no one is listening! 201-200-9368
  2:18pm David Shortell:

The Ribeye Brothers are also playing the Dublin House in Red Bank on September 2. Last time they played there, they unveiled their version of "Ace of Spades" (Motorhead's, not Link Wray's).
  2:24pm John L.:

BSP, sorry.
  2:41pm Phann:

Head East will be playing A Taste of Colorado - Main Stage
Civic Center Park - Downtown Denver
(intersection of Colfax Avenue & Broadway)
Free Outdoor Show - September 2nd. !!!
  2:43pm So Mote It Be:

Wonder if The Tropics are on that FLA Psych comp? Members of that band later became White Witch.
  2:46pm John L.:
