Listener comments!

  12:11am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Yay wagging dog tail!

Good evening, Therese! I hope you're doing ok up there.
  12:13am
Holly in NC:

Hello Therese! Great opening, hope the weather doesn't get too frightful
  12:14am
Ike:

Hey there!

Hi all!
  12:22am
Holly in NC:

Are the Davila 666 guys OK? Are they in Puerto Rico?
Nick C always most appripriate for any apocalyptic situation ;-)
Avatar 12:24am
Therese:

Ooh, good question, Holly!
  12:28am
Christina:

Hi Therese! Me & Kirsten are hanging out with wine spritzers like a couple of ladies! Listening to your show!
  12:28am
MCB:

Ha! I just listened to this album for the first time the other day and chuckled when I saw this song title. Probably one of my favorites this year.
  12:33am
MCB:

"this album" = talk normal for anyone reading this after the fact. Hello future people!
  12:35am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Both the "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" movie and TV series join the made-for-TV version of "The Man Who Fell To Earth" on the list of things I have not seen. I don't know if that's a good or bad thing.
  12:36am
Chop Scott:

Therese! I'm on the opposite street dividing line to evacuate Red Hook, have battened down the hatches to ride out whatever comes and protect my crap. So happy to be listening....
  12:37am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

The band I manage is opening for The Sword in December!
  12:38am
KP:

Hey Therese.
Avatar 12:39am
Therese:

Are you in Zone B, Chop Scott?
  12:40am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

A friend of mine that lives at 2nd and Coles received an automated call a few hours ago stating that anyone living on the second floor or below needs to evacuate immediately. He lives on the third floor so he's uncertain if he should high-tail it as well.
  12:40am
Julie:

being one block away from zone A is kinda maddening
  12:42am
Holly in NC:

Grace Jones' Hurricane dub lp might be fun later.
  12:42am
Chop Scott:

Therese-Yes, across the street is Zone A. I've fully prepped, well stocked up---and can roll down the storefront gate to protect from the predicted winds.
  12:45am
Holly in NC:

Dear lord that came off as flippant, SO sorry. You guys take care!!!!!!
  12:45am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Make sure the boxes of priceless records, cylinders and CDs aren't stuck down in the basement.
Avatar 12:46am
Therese:

Ooh, that's interesting, BGZ... I didn't think the evacuation zone extended that far inland.
  12:47am
Holly in NC:

Slint=perfect
Avatar 12:47am
Therese:

Ken, anything we have in our basement is down there because it is NOT priceless.
Avatar 12:48am
Therese:

Hi Julie! I see you didn't volunteer to camp out here for the duration of the storm!
  12:48am
Bob in DC/VA/Wherever:

It's Therese vs. the hurricane, and I've got my money on Therese.

Stay safe, everybody in WFMU land!
  12:50am
KP:

Don't tell me you're alone there, Therese.
Avatar 12:53am
Therese:

Thanks, Bob! I appreciate your confidence. And KP, don't worry- Amedeo is here!
  12:53am
Bob in DC/VA/Wherever:

BGZ, I think your friend should indeed hightail it. If nothing else, he'd be stranded when the bottom two floors flooded. There's also the rats/snakes seeking higher ground problem.
  12:54am
Tom - K'way Bklyn:

howdy doody every body...,., Therese and kiddles...
  12:57am
amEdeo:

Indeed. I am here, preparing to start my tenure living in the rafters in WFMU, where I will train the mice to do my bidding.
  12:59am
amEdeo:

A.L. Webbey-style. The Phantom of the Freeform Radio Station.

Spoony:

Great show, my sister in cat fancy!

BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@amEdeo: How Willard Stiles of you.
  1:02am
amEdeo:

WE SHALL PUT AN END TO THE TYRANNICAL SQUIRREL MENACE ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!!!
  1:02am
Tom - K'way Bklyn:

Howdy Therese ,,,. ! wish I was there with cookies and coffee tea and hot cocoa
  1:09am
KP:

Good work AmAdeo!
  1:10am
Bob in DC/VA/Wherever:

I totally agree this bed music rocks.
  1:10am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Car curfew? A moratorium on automobile use? An automoratorium?
  1:10am
KP:

Oops. AmEdeo!
Yay Halloween
  1:11am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@amEdeo: But I like squirrels. I want to domesticate them!
  1:12am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

EFD's three hours of singles = three hours of Nick Gilder.
  1:16am
amEdeo:

@KP: Muwhoohahahah! Hallooooweeen.
@BGZ: We shall domesticate THEIR DECIMATED FORMS to be our delightful household pets. But keep both your eyes open, for the WFMU squirrels are nothing short of PURE EVIL. I once saw a squirrel rob and then tattoo an unsuspecting DJ.
  1:19am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@amEdeo: Take it back. Take. It. Back! How dare you talk about Gary that way!
  1:24am
Holly in NC:

This takes ME back. Prob one of my most played 12'' ever
  1:26am
Julie in an undisclosed location:

@Therese I was already there with Gaylord today, and offered to stay but nope, my services weren't needed. Went home and just moved from the zone a/b border to someplace..middlier

Good, Julie! I was worried about your mental health last time one of these SUPERSTORMS rolled through.
  1:30am
Julie in an undisclosed location:

Who said I had mental "health" to begin with?
  1:31am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Metal health?
  1:33am
Joe D.:

yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaah Therese
  1:35am
Joe D.:

still one of the greatest 2 minutes (almost) ever put to vinyl. I even love that weird high pitch hum
  1:35am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I was hoping you'd play some TV Casualty!
  1:40am
amEdeo:

Whoooaaa ho ho ha. This IS good.
  1:41am

Scream with Me is a great rekkid to have. Kudos on the Pajo rotation.

Are listener zero and BGZ related?
  2:12am

@Listener Zero*: They're yelling over the 90mph winds.

*Listener Zero, to the best of my knowledge, is not related to me.
  2:14am
amEdeo:

Jiminy Christmas! At this rate we may have to ready the WFMU submarine.
  2:15am
rada:

WFMU inflatable rafts should be next on the agenda
  2:15am
Listener zero:

Julie: We are all related, somehow, expats from Africa so to speak. But he ain't no "brother from a different mother", if that's what you are asking.

And yet, the EAS unit has been silent all night...
  2:16am
Julie in an undisclosed location:

Right? I thought that was weird we had NO alerts this evening
  2:16am
Listener zero:

@BadGuyZero: Well, they seem to be doing okay with the spelling on their twitter feeds.
  2:16am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

REMINDER: It's the final days of the silent marathon. Please pledge so that WFMU has funds to acquire inflatable rafts.
  2:17am
amEdeo:

Yeah, that is the most bizarre part of the whole thing. Maybe they assume that everyone knows about it at this point???
  2:18am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

The JSBE set on yesterday's Cherry Blossom Clinic was off the charts!
  2:18am

EAS is reserved only for Godzilla and Matthew Broderick-related attacks.

I have a handheld scanner I use to listen to storm spotters when we get twister weather down here.
  2:23am
Listener zero:

Is it wrong for me to be excited to hear another Tom Scharpling basement flooding story?
  2:31am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@Listener zero: I have a hunch that Tom doesn't share your enthusiasm.
  2:32am
Listener zero:

His Irene story was just so great – I especially was fond of his "you laugh, you better laugh, you dry listener!" One could hear him grit his teeth and shake his fist.
Avatar 2:39am
Therese:

Ooh, let's hope the only basement story Tom tells is a repeat of his Irene story. That was ROUGH!
  2:41am
Listener zero:

Maybe one of Ken's boiler stories will suffice. In all seriousness: Everybody be safe. I myself got people in Upstate NY who are hunkering down.
