Hello Therese, Julie and Heinz!

Hiya, BGZ!
  12:39am
amEdeo:

Such a good album from those rock-climbing goats. Been listening to it over and over all week.

And now I will bring the room down....

Hunts:

Bruuuuce. I like his solo stuff like Brilliant Disguise and Tunnel of Love. Sounding good Therese.
  12:49am
Chop Scott:

Therese! That Suicide cover by Bruce is killer...always special to hear it.
  12:54am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Our loss on you're not bringing "Xanadu."

I was in Norman, OK yesterday and found "Christmas With Liberace" in the dollar bin at Guestroom Records!
Avatar 12:55am
F. Russ Strato:

Another week without REO SPeedwagon
Avatar 1:09am
Therese:

I'm sure the Xanadu soundtrack will make an appearance in the next few weeks, BGZ.

And hello Nathan, Hunts & Chop Scott! And sorry to disappoint, Mr. Strato.
  1:18am
Elwyn:

I don't remember the Dream Baby Dream EP. Must google now instead of doing work...
Avatar 1:22am
Therese:

It was a split EP, Elwyn. Bruce's exhaustive website doesn't mention it, which is odd...
  1:24am
Elwyn:

I know this a totally unrelated question but does anyone know a web site where I can track down Husker Du's "What's Going on (with sax)", a live CD that came out a few years ago?
  1:26am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@Elwyn: Have you checked on Discogs? Alternate sites to search are Musicstack and Gemm.
  1:27am
T-Zero:

Heh! I was going to suggest GEMM

http://gemm.com/
  1:28am
Elwyn:

@BadGuy: I'll check those out now. I only really looked on eBay and maybe Amazon.
Avatar 1:29am
Therese:

Hey, T-Zero- are you and BadGuyZero related?
  1:31am
T-Zero:

Hi, Therese. Haven'been able to tune into you live in a while. Nope. No relation. Just a coincidence.
  1:31am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@Elwyn: Discogs is a great site for reference as well as for the marketplace. If you register you can create a wantlist and they'll send you a daily email with new marketplace listings of the items on your wantlist.
  1:34am
Elwyn:

@BadGuy: I am still in credit card debt. :-( Still angry at myself for being broke this time two years ago when WFMU had that auction and missed out on a couple of ancient Husker Du singles.
Still saving up for a holiday to the USA. Want to go and see Yo la Tengo at a Hannukah show or WFMU marathon request show.
  1:39am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@Elwyn: I empathize. I missed out on last year's Best Show premium due to budget constraints.

There's a triangle-shaped speedway in the Poconos.

I need a vacation... or just a solid 8 hours sleep...

a young person:

I believe am the same age as Mr. Amadeo and I remember those commercials vividly. They aired well into the mid-90's.
  1:49am
Asanarama:

I remember Mt. Airy Lodge. Not sure about the spelling. Went on a family vacation once when I was a kid. New Year's I think, at least 20 years ago.
  1:51am
amEdeo:

@ayp: I'm finding ones from the early 90s. Nothing from the mid-90s yet. We Shall SEE.
Avatar 1:52am
Therese:

They are INFECTIOUS, those commericals!
  1:52am
Vinnie:

Hi Therese. The Neville jingle was insanely catchy...remember?

"At the Neville you can do a thing or can do nothing you can do that too at the Neville"

Great show!
  1:55am
Elwyn:

They couldn't be as infectious as those cheesy Mentos commercials of the early 1990s?
  1:57am
a young person:

WE SHALL INDEED!!!

but surely, you all remember Petland Discounts:

Jingles! I want more jingles in my advertising.
  2:03am
amEdeo:

One day Glenn Danzig will do a petco jingle and all will be right in the universe.
  2:04am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I think the Dallas Times Herald classifieds jingle will forever occupy part of my brain. 748-1414 is probably a better known number in Dallas than 867-5309.

Therese:

Someone get Glenn Danzig's people on the phone!
  2:09am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

PAMS - the company that created many TV and radio station jingle packages - was based in Dallas. If you've got $230 you urgently need to get rid of you could either donate it to WFMU or buy a 10-CD set that contains twelve hours of jingles.

I believe you are talking about "The Son of Man".

BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Icee?
  2:29am
Elwyn:

I want a sugar-less Slurpee!
  2:31am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

@Elwyn: They have sugar-free Slurpees now. I've seen mango and strawberry-banana flavors. I have not tried them though.
  2:32am
Elwyn:

What? I haven't seen them in Australia yet but don't go to 7-Eleven that often.
  2:36am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

7-Eleven is based out of Dallas so it's possible that it's a test product.
  2:38am
Elwyn:

Why can't they use me as their sugar-less diabetic test guinea pig? :-(
  2:38am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

So Greg Kihn had an album that didn't incorporate his last name in the spirit of "Kihntageous" and "Kihnspiracy?"
Avatar 2:46am
Therese:

I was as shocked as you, BGZ!
  3:01am
BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Have a great week, Therese!
