Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm Fiveash:

Coincidentally, I think Mickey plays on this one.
  1:06pm Ralph And Susan (UK):

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07pm Fiveash:

He was a busy bumblebee for sure.
  1:29pm Scott C.:

Carnac The Magnificent: "Get the mop."
Ed McMahon: "Get...the...mop."
Carnac: "Get the mop...What three words does Matt hate to hear when he's busy tending bar?"

  1:32pm Matt from Springfield:

Hey Fiveash!
Was Live At The Star Club the one in Hamburg? That was where the mystical knowledge of the Wooooooooo! was passed down to Paul McC.
  1:33pm Mikey:

Between the Buttons is my third favorite Stones album, behind Hot Rocks and Hot Rocks 2.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm Fiveash:

Jawohl MFS. Oh Jesus it's Mikey!
  1:34pm Mikey:

I'm back, Baby. LOVIN' IT!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm Fiveash:

Awright! Looking forward to spilling beer on you on the 17th...
  1:37pm Matt from Springfield:

This Wailers is very good!

Say, who's the Ichiban Artist of the Month?
  1:37pm Scott C.:

Just checked Ticketmastwhore for you, Matt. Plenty of good Stones tickets still available for Saturday in Brooklyn in the $830 and $500 range.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm Fiveash:

Those are the tickets to get in line for actual tickets, right? MFS: Rudy Ray Moore.
  1:42pm Matt from Springfield:

Rudy Ray Moore!!! You gotta play "Ain't No White Christmas"! It's *heavily* blue, but what's a webstream for? I learned that one from Marty McSorley's show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm Fiveash:

Duly noted.
  1:44pm Dominick:

Pulisco dischi acustici
  1:46pm Matt from Springfield:

@Fiveash: Thanks for takin' note!

Actually through a computer error, all of *those* tickets got transferred to Ticketmastwhore's* wholly-owned scalper subsidiary. You can still get in line for tickets to get in the queue for the scalper's website to get tickets to get in line for the scalper's concert tickets.

*Ha HA! Thanks Scott C! :)
  1:47pm Scott C.:

The Standells are Ponderosa Stomp bound in '13!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm Fiveash:

Wow! You goin' this year?
  1:49pm Scott C.:

Next year, but yeah! Saving my pennies and pop bottles already!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm Fiveash:

Awesome! We're going to Casamento's this time, pal!
  1:51pm Zev:

Real Kids!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm Fiveash:

Zev, you know it!
  1:55pm Zev:

I wore out this tune on my copies of Live at the Rat, twice!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm Fiveash:

Dion played at the Rat?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm Fiveash:

  1:57pm Scott C.:

Can't wait, Mr. Fiveash, it's a date! And the show is back at the (new) Rock N' Bowl next year!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm Fiveash:

Is it still in the same spot in Mid-City?
  2:07pm Matt from Springfield:

Vintage Curtis!
  2:08pm RICK:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Fiveash:

  2:11pm Matt from Springfield:

I dig the Mexican-like Farfisa rhythms on this! Long Live Sir Douglas!
  2:13pm Scott C.:

The new Bowl is a few blocks away from the old location, near the Olde College Inn in Mid-City. The old location upstairs survived Katrina, but everything in the shopping center below it was destroyed, so they relocated.
  2:13pm monica:

soundin' good in the neighborhood, matt!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm Fiveash:

Ah So! Can't wait to go back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm Fiveash:

Hey Monica! Always an honor to have the lady with the best taste on earth stop in!
  2:17pm Matt from Springfield:

Go VA Soul!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm Fiveash:

Smokey's lyrics on this are incredible, no?
  2:21pm Matt from Springfield:

Smokey's always one of my fave songwriters, but I liked those lyrics indeed. And his delivery of them!
  2:22pm Zev:

that Rhino funk comp is harder to find than you can imagine
  2:24pm Matt from Springfield:

YEAH! One of the Bettyes-with-an-E!
Incidentally, "Muddy Water" is a TERRIFIC premium--I highly rec!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm Fiveash:

I bought it as a wedding gift for a friend when it was in stores. Then I got jealous and bought my own.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm Fiveash:

The Funk Box, not McGasko's premium which is not and never will be available in stores.
  2:34pm Rob S:

Great show matt
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:36pm Fiveash:

Hey thanks Rob! Been meaning to get in touch with you about that Fathoms CD...
  2:37pm Honey Water:

Looking through the playlist, such a shame I got to this party so late! Great spins, Matt!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm Fiveash:

Fanks HW!
  2:39pm Scott C.:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Fiveash:

  2:46pm Rob S:

I thought i had one in my office but i can't find it
  2:46pm Matt from Springfield:

@HW: Thursdays, 1-5! Fiveash then Ted Barron on the Ichiban stream.

No conflict for me today since Charlie didn't have a show; on Thursdays from 1-2, WFMU listeners have a choice of no less than THREE live DJ shows with active playlists! The busiest hour in online radio!
  2:48pm Honey Water:

Great music to address greeting cards to.

Hey, MfS! Thanks for the tip! Charlie's show did have a live playlist today (check out a couple notes ;). Don't know if I can commit that full time slot every week, but so glad Ichiban is streaming again.
  2:50pm Tom:

Thanks for playing the music nice and loud. Just the way I like it!
  2:50pm Honey Water:

During a nastier than usual allergy season here in the Ohio Valley, I was really needing a long stream of itchy ban.
  2:52pm Matt from Springfield:

Great Dizzy Gillespie! Didn't know he sang calypso/mento like songs!

@HW: Could you have taken some Ichibanadryl?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm Fiveash:

Check out his album Jambo Caribe.
  2:56pm Honey Water:

Double dose of Dizzy in this set.
  2:58pm Matt from Springfield:

Thanks for the rec Fiveash! Thanks for all the show in fact!
Look forward to the "Sopressat 'n Mutz Show" with Ted Barron.
  3:00pm Honey Water:

Between the Buttons -- fine album, oft neglected.
  3:02pm Zev:

Ignoring Ron Wood is good policy for everyone
  3:04pm Matt from Springfield:

See ya Fiveash!
  3:04pm Honey Water:

Will catch early bits on archive when I can -- thanks, Matt!
  3:07pm Fiveash:

Thanks all. See you next Thoisday!
