Avatar 9:15pm
Dave M.:

Hey Richard. Welcome.
  9:19pm
Van in DC:

FMU - where your multiple donations to multiple shows works against you if you WANT swag for the first donation then say nothing for every other donation. THEN you become pond scum and receive nothing. Many thanks.
Avatar 9:21pm
Dave M.:

@Van: You should get in touch with Joe McGasko or Scott Williams if you've got any swag problems.
  9:21pm
tr;sh:

Aw Van, you're not that banked on the material stuff are you?
Avatar 9:22pm
Dave M.:

@Van: Let them know what happened and they'll fix it.
  9:23pm
BDR:

Excellent death metal. Glad you're getting it out of your system before visitors arrive.
  9:24pm
Grownup:

It's just like being a kid again. Someone always pitches a fit at Xmas! :)
  9:24pm
tr;sh:

My first listen of that last PH track sounded altogether gifty inside my ear holes.

A winter return to light kinda gift.

So here's to it.
Avatar 9:25pm
Dave M.:

@BDR: Hahaha. This is probably as close as I'll get to death metal. Though I do have something else...
  9:33pm
jeff in puna hawaii:

Sounds great Dave! Aloha
Avatar 9:35pm
Dave M.:

Hey, Jeff. Thanks. I'd give it all up for a few days in Hawaii.

Avatar 9:44pm
Dave M.:

@BDR: Thanks! And you.
@jeff: I pretty much only listen on the iPhone app these days. It's the best.

Andrew Waterloo:

Good evening
  10:21pm
m:

I'm not 100% sure but i think elklink is just Graham Lambkin.
Avatar 10:23pm
Dave M.:

Welcome, Andrew!
Avatar 10:24pm
Dave M.:

@m: It's Graham and Adris Hoyos of Harry Pussy.
  10:26pm
m:

  10:27pm

Avatar 10:29pm
Dave M.:

@m: Nah.
Avatar 10:30pm
Dave M.:

Not 100% sure about Rise of Elklink, but I'm pretty sure it's always the two of them.
  10:44pm
mary:

never heard this Henry Flynt raga stuff...only the cowboy music. It is shocking and funny. Henry, the super shy neighbor with the rad work. With his southern USA accent.
Avatar 10:46pm
Dave M.:

Yeah, Flynt has done so many recordings over the years. There are probably dozens I haven't heard.
  11:13pm
mary:

Henry made all kinds of visual work, of course...including- he photographed all the SAMO grafitti in the late 70s on Soho walls near his loft and the old Kitchen. I remember walking to work and seeing all of them- "wow a new one today". I was a teen and working around as different artists' assistants- odd jobs. Loving SAMO and now am happy to hear Henry has images of many. (I miss Jean Michel- and many others.) Can't avoid saying- it was fun then and ever so quiet in Soho. And, the East Village was fun and intense -yet fun... and it was so cheap to live in either place. And blah blah- a great time...Ya hadda be there!
p.s. I love Feldman too! and Dave's show is fantastic! Every so often just have to write because his show is so beautiful and seems to trigger so many memories. Including of hearing some of the stuff live.
  11:15pm
Andrew Waterloo:

This is some good Sun Araw
Avatar 11:16pm
Dave M.:

Thanks, Mary. That's very nice of you. I remember the Samo graffiti well. I casually knew JMB's partner, Al Diaz. Never met JMB, though.
Avatar 11:17pm
Dave M.:

@Andrew: This Sun Araw release is just great, every track on it.
  11:17pm
Andrew Waterloo:

You really have to admire the people who take the time to take pictures of the seemingly everyday things in their area. It's amazing how quickly you forget what used to fill a newly empty space.
  11:25pm
Andrew Waterloo:

@Dave I'll have to keep an eye out for in the New Year
I think the two Roland Kirk albums I bought today will be my last for 2012
  11:26pm
tomB:

two guys in one night doing credible imitations of saxophones with their voices. Mij doing a soprano, but Henry going for Coltrane's tenor. Prefer the saxaphones, but props to Flynt for the hard work.
Avatar 11:27pm
Dave M.:

Is that Andrew B. by any chance?
  11:29pm
Andrew Waterloo:

Nope.. this an Andrew with a K. It seems I've joined a wide array of Andrews
Avatar 11:29pm
Dave M.:

@tom: Agreed. That was a pretty impressive performance by Flynt.
  11:32pm
Scott B.:

Dave, omg I'm knackered just tuned in had a long
day had to do some family bits in Manhattan
and NY Historical Society and such, I managed to
miss the Feldman piece, of course. Well, there's
always archive play tomorrow. Anyway, I truly
appreciate you're playing Projection V! Cheers!!
Happy holidays to all my fellow mutants. and
to the kids of my retarded mutant neighbor
skateboarding brats....f you! ba humbug you
nasty mutants. This is what we have to put up with on
Bore Island.
  11:34pm
Scott B.:

this is actually one of my fave Sabbath tunes.
  11:35pm
Andrew Waterloo:

wow.. I was just checking out a doom band called Paulbearer
Avatar 11:36pm
Dave M.:

@Scott: It's f'ing great.
  11:38pm
Scott B.:

I'll double back and listen to the whole show
again tomorrow for sure. I'm mainly even
more into the late FEldman stuff or mid
to late, the long pieces, but also into
the earlier pieces more and more these days.
That box set The Ecstasy of the Moment
is a must-own, and anything on Mode, etc.
I'm also big into Triadic Memories with
Marilyn Nonken on piano, feckin' great!
  11:39pm
Andrew Waterloo:

Material!
  11:44pm
Scott B.:

we stopped in at The Mermaid Inn on Upper West
Side today, by chance, that place is ok. A bit
snooty for my taste. 568 Amsterdam Ave. Anybody
know it? I just had tea didn't order food though.
Avatar 11:47pm
Dave M.:

I don't know it, unfortunately. Or fortunately?
  11:50pm
Scott B.:

prob. fortunately. the food is supposedly good, service snotty and indifferent. Which is about how it was. Any Gordon Lightfoot? Just kidding. Sundown..you better take care...I hate having cheesy song in my head!
  11:52pm
Scott B.:

wow some DJ on here played Haircut 100 Fantastic Day the other night and I was pretty surprised. Hadn't heard that in ages.
  11:54pm
Ike:

Sounds good. Once again, I thank modern technology that I can listen from Middle of Absolutely Nowhere, Maryland. It's down the street from Chicken Farm Central, Maryland, and Middle-Aged Guys Painting Their Boats, Maryland.
  11:55pm
Destroit:

Mi Ami...what an awesome stomper. Thanks for the show Dave.
  12:00am
Scott B.:

but gotta love dem crabcakes, Ike!
  12:05am
G:

Stranded with family in Catonsville, MD. At least they have music stores hereabouts... if that is I'm not utterly monopolized by questions, advice, suggestions, their ideas about things I might want them to do, their ideas about things I might want to do at their invitation, and on and on. And the TV up really loud (hearing issues)
  12:10am
G:

Sounds like the Eastern Shore there, Ike. I know Worcester, Somerset, Wicomico, and Accomack counties way too well...
