Particularly since room for only one foreign language is usually factored into the syllabus. But like cursive writing nowadays, when something's no longer required, watch competency in the topic (and in general) plummet in coming years.

So while not knowing conjugations and stuff offhand (See: The Life of Brian!) Latin's one of those languages you haven't studied but still know a bit about.

Typical of stores...When all of a sudden the next song is a great pop song that I recognize: this is a WFMU song! I couldn't remember the name but had learned it through your playing it. I looked it up -- sure enough Camera Obscura's "French Navy"! In the middle of an otherwise easy listening dreckfest of piped music! Then it went back to the usual stuff after that but what an inspiring gem thrown in the middle! There's a ghost in the machine, I hope!

Particularly since room for only one foreign language is usually factored into the syllabus. But like cursive writing nowadays, when something's no longer required, watch competency in the topic (and in general) plummet in coming years.

So while not knowing conjugations and stuff offhand (See: The Life of Brian!) Latin's one of those languages you haven't studied but still know a bit about.

Typical of stores...When all of a sudden the next song is a great pop song that I recognize: this is a WFMU song! I couldn't remember the name but had learned it through your playing it. I looked it up -- sure enough Camera Obscura's "French Navy"! In the middle of an otherwise easy listening dreckfest of piped music! Then it went back to the usual stuff after that but what an inspiring gem thrown in the middle! There's a ghost in the machine, I hope!
