The Codger must have helped him haul all that Patti Page. Although Patti was jailbait when OC was in his prime or primo.
Avatar 3:23pm

MP3s are probably the "lightest", at least because of their reduced size and compression. WAV files are rather large, and seem to have an "emptiness" like multiple unused channels on them.
Avatar 3:25pm

@G: Too young, too pop for him, but the Codger probably enjoyed Patti nonetheless. Just like when Irwin played Miley Cyrus, that's like when the Codger listened to Patti Page, I bet.

I don't like the word "stable" in this context. Let's pick another one.

Avatar 4:19pm

@rrg: It's still an elective in most places, but of course you'd have to fit it in among all the other electives you want to take and required courses, so the majority don't. Particularly since room for only one foreign language is usually factored into the syllabus.

But like cursive writing nowadays, when something's no longer required, watch competency in the topic (and in general) plummet in coming years.

@Irwin: I should mention that last week I was at a Kohl's store, tracking down a number of things and hearing their piped music of inoffensive, palatable A/C hits of "decade, decade, and TODAY!" for a good while. Typical of stores...When all of a sudden the next song is a great pop song that I recognize: this is a WFMU song! I couldn't remember the name but had learned it through your playing it.

I looked it up -- sure enough Camera Obscura's "French Navy"! In the middle of an otherwise easy listening dreckfest of piped music! Then it went back to the usual stuff after that but what an inspiring gem thrown in the middle! There's a ghost in the machine, I hope!
  5:22pm
Irwin:

Laura: Got 'em all. Did I miss anything else?
  5:24pm
Laura L:

One more--"With" doing in "Music Sounds Better With You"--get that big W down! Thank you!
  5:24pm

Laura, would you lowercase "With" in "Music Sounds Better With You"?

I would. But I can be talked out of it.

And Satan made you upper case "Of" and "The" in the BÖC listing and miss putting the umlaut on the album title there. I'm uncomfortable about the lack of commas in "Rain Rain Rain" too... @rrg, I know it's all in good copyediting fun.
  5:53pm

Rain Rain Rain is the actual title. The B'OC screwups are fixed.
