Hi Irene. Loving a bit of deep track classic rock on this blustery day in Tucson. Just saw and recommend the documentary "Beware of Mr. Baker" about the wild life and times of rock's creamiest drummer.

@KP: Thus, every Monday is Happy! (At least for a few hours of it...)

This "Rainflower/Easty" is great! It reminds me of "Sunday" -- the instrumental last track on Nick Drake's Bryter Layter.

Avatar 2:30pm
slugluv1313:

@ kat330 -- i know what you mean re: Buckley's death -- i was in the local music store here in Hoboken when the news was first breaking -- the person behind the counter and i were just kinda dazed -- i was hoping that this was not true; i remember when his father had died -- and hearing this live piece again, just reminded me that even while he was still in this physical realm, Jeff sure sounded like he was singing from some other place . . . and i can definitely understand the sadness about KEATS too -- i did not lose MONDO CAT (that big grey handsome fellow in my photo!) that same year, but he was with me for 17 years -- my condolences to you

Philo got the book "Dream Brother," which I devoured, and when we took a trip to NOLA and Memphis at the end of 2007, we found the last street and shotgun house Jeff lived in. Just so I could have a quiet moment in the car thinking about the awful loss.

MD:

Yeah Irene...you can U-tube lot's of their stuff.
I just dubbed their "Crooked Rose"Cassette to CD...I got the tape 8 or 9 years ago..in Dublin. But they have been around since 1977.
Great Players...and beautiful sounds. They were all "All Ireland" music winners one year and decided to form a band...really great stuff...

Irene, when I mentioned last week that I was going to see Charles Lloyd, the main reason was to see Maria Farantouri. I have waited forty years to see her. If you get a chance to hear her sing Theodorakis' song Marina like me you may have tears in your eyes. Ever time it does not diminish.
