Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm G:

Bryce should switch from "um" to" om"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:01pm G:

If people are doublestreaming and microdelaying, this must really be something now that they added a studio layer of it
Avatar 3:04pm Honey Water:

Still am and yes, something else.
Avatar 3:05pm Honey Water:

Triplestreaming, btw, but I think I'll stop that soon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm Mike East:

whoa, didn't even realize we crossed the border into Minotaur territory. I thought The Long Goodbye was an excellent film. Elliot Gould doesn't get enough credit, I think.
Avatar 3:07pm Honey Water:

@Mike: Funny you should say that! Yes, I really, really like the Long Goodbye despite Gould, whom I've never cared for as an actor. But the film worked very well and he was superb in it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm northguineahills:

Honey Water, I like the gills as hair.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm Mike East:

I think Altman can probably take a lot of credit for that, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm G:

"Morris is the originator of Conduction (a term knowingly borrowed from physics): a type of structured free improvisation where Morris directs and conducts an improvising ensemble with a series of hand and baton gestures."
Avatar 3:11pm Honey Water:

It follows my fave Altman -- McCabe and Mrs. Miller -- at a close second.
Avatar 3:13pm Honey Water:

@ngh: Did you ever see Ponyo? Here's what my axolotl reminds Philo of: tinyurl.com...
Avatar 3:14pm Honey Water:

Hi, Kurt!! Sorry for the rudeness.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm northguineahills:

I was just reading last week in the October or September issue of the Wire that there some sort of kickstarter sort of thing to help get funds for Butch and a site to raise awareness for his need for a transplant. It was probably written last summer. A few days later, wham! he's gone :(
Avatar 3:17pm Parq:

HW, I never saw that. That's the one that has a cast including a woman who played a key role in the Howard Hughes hoax -- Nina Pallant or something like that. (I should IMBD it, but I'm feeling ornery.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm northguineahills:

Honey Water, your tinyurl didn't work...

(a few days after I read the article)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm G:

It was lung cancer, he was mid 60s, most likely grew up smoking in the 1950s... Maybe someone knows more...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm Mike East:

@HW - I watched both within a week of each other...as well as Popeye. Long Goodbye takes first place, though I loved all three.
Avatar 3:19pm Honey Water:

OK, Parq, I just did the fingerwalking for you (as I did for Kurt last week ;): Nina Van Pallandt, indeed.
Avatar 3:20pm Honey Water:

Ooops, ngh. I think I've overloaded my computer's resources even though I got rid of a stream. I'll try again.
Avatar 3:22pm Honey Water:

Try this one: cartoonswalls.com...
Avatar 3:23pm Honey Water:

And that's odd, because the tinyurl works for me when I clicked it. Hm, more ethereal pixel mysteries...
Avatar 3:26pm Honey Water:

@Mike: Watching Julie Christie bolt down all those eggs was a joy to watch. A woman with a big sensual appetite on display, who'd have thunk?!
Avatar 3:27pm Honey Water:

I'm going to depart for a bit but I'll be back, rebooting and cleaning up and all.
Avatar 3:34pm Parq:

HW left, and the conversation just died. Or is everyone hanging on each word of Kurt's mike break?
Avatar 3:37pm Honey Water:

I'm back, and the HP is leaner and meaner now! :)
Avatar 3:39pm Kurt Gottschalk:

Hi everyone! Thanks for tuning in.
Avatar 3:40pm Honey Water:

Kurt, did you find and play that Armstrong clip OK? Didn't it remind you of Jonesy's delivery?
Avatar 3:41pm BSI:

Tuning in & out, as I can, but it's good to catch up on the Butch Morris thing. I wasn't aware of the music until news of passing, alas.
Avatar 3:42pm Kurt Gottschalk:

i did and it did, honeyw! i actually asked glen and he wasn't familiar with it, but definitely similar.
Avatar 3:44pm Va Van:

Just saying hi.
Avatar 3:44pm Honey Water:

I wonder if he didn't hear that recording of "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" as a child or very young and it imprinted on his subconscious or something. Did he say it came from some other source altogether?
Avatar 3:45pm Honey Water:

Va va voom, Van!
Avatar 3:45pm Kurt Gottschalk:

he said it was just a goofy voice that developed over time with his girlfriend.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm Mike East:

ooh - insider Jonesy info. Awesome!
Avatar 3:47pm Kurt Gottschalk:

that's as much as i'm sayin', tho!
Avatar 3:49pm Honey Water:

@Mike: Play the first seconds of the first audio clip at this link: dippermouth.blogspot.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53pm Mike East:

yes, totally! I feel like I've heard that before, perhaps even on this station...
Avatar 3:55pm Honey Water:

I heard it on our local NPR station on Christmas Eve morning making breakfast. Thought it was a dead ringer for the Jonesy station ID tag.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Mike East:

@Kurt - try to get a recipe for Glen's Soupy Soup from him next time you see him! hehe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Mike East:

yeah, coulda been npr, too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm Mike East:

Thanks for the Butch Morris education, Kurt. This is some great stuff
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Mike East:

...so much better than the group in the studio next to me belting out "Age of Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In"
Avatar 4:11pm Honey Water:

Right, because when the sun is out or in, you don't see the stars.
Avatar 4:12pm Honey Water:

I don't think I could have taken this in double / triple stream.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm G:

This is the dawning of the migrainey studio, migrainey studio...
Avatar 4:16pm das:

Damn!
Avatar 4:16pm Inner Ear Detour:

Terrific show, KG
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm Mike East:

you said it, G. They're not even that good.
Avatar 4:23pm Kurt Gottschalk:

thanks, inner ear!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm northguineahills:

ahh, that's ponyo

(I was chatting w/ at&t for an eternity trying to get my upgrade fee waived).
Avatar 4:26pm Honey Water:

@ngh: I consider my axolotl to be Punk Ponyo. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27pm Brian in UK:

Hello Kurt & Co.
@G I get an aura with my migraines. Neary a headache. Called a Claasic Migraine, sounds cool is a sick way.
Avatar 4:29pm Honey Water:

Somehow chatting with AT&T merges quite well with a migraine discussion. I can testify.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30pm Brian in UK:

'If you ask me to hold please refrain from playing the musick'.
Avatar 4:32pm Honey Water:

Here's a taste of Bell Hell as I know it: soundcloud.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Half-way through Kurt's show and 100% of the posts are from Friendship Society members.
Avatar 4:35pm Honey Water:

@ngh: I might have had the record length of time -- represented in bleeps and bloops on their end, replaced by a sort of "music" blipping mid-2012 -- on ATT automated systems after entering our phone number and they say "OK, I'll just look that up." It's a badge of honor since all the pages of records have to do with all my calls about billing errors, etc. ;)
Avatar 4:35pm other david:

Proper order, Ken. Proper order.
Avatar 4:37pm Honey Water:

OD! Have you scheduled the avatar wrestling match with Charlie Lewis yet? I want a ringside seat for that. ;)
Avatar 4:37pm Cory:

whenever I see or hear "Friendship Society" I smile a little
Avatar 4:39pm other david:

HW - I think I'll just have to acquiesce and find a new one - I can't squabble with Charlie Lewis, it would be most unseemly!
Avatar 4:39pm Kurt Gottschalk:

"Friendship Society" isn't so bad when you know what else was being considered: Bucket of Fellow Travelers, Kenz Dawg Haus and Freeform School Girls, to name just a few.
Avatar 4:39pm Honey Water:

@Cory: Evokes a sort of Quaker "cult."
  4:41pm mary:

Thanks Bryce for the Butch Morris. Have heard him (and David Murray) many times live. Lovely memories.
Avatar 4:41pm other david:

Aw, Kenz Dawg Haus would have been perfect.
Avatar 4:41pm Cory:

Yay! I'm in a cult!!! Wahooo... wait, good cult or bad cult?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:42pm Caryn:

@od: or you could resign yourself to being the colourised version. The "Ted Turner" version, if you will... Naah, that sounds even worse.
Avatar 4:42pm Honey Water:

@Cory: I figure we'll know for sure in a year or two.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:42pm Mike East:

hahahahaha, Ken's Dawg Haus. Thanks again for the insider info, DJKG
Avatar 4:43pm Kurt Gottschalk:

well, those were all lies actually.
Avatar 4:43pm Kurt Gottschalk:

what's a "bryce"?
Avatar 4:43pm other david:

@Caryn: oh now you've gone and done it...

*opens photoshop & googles images with renewed vigour*
Avatar 4:43pm Honey Water:

Zuckerberg started out all innocent, too. Actually, not. I remember those HORRID "face books" of freshmen printed on all of us at Pembroke/Brown U. -- and we knew how the guys used them, too.
Avatar 4:45pm Cory:

I vote for electric kool-aid. I've heard the Jones recipe uses some weird sugar substitute.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:48pm tim from champaign:

Avatar wrestling match, you say? I think my avatar is obviously qualified to manage the heel avatar.
Avatar 4:48pm Honey Water:

@Cory: It would need to be something virtual. An overdose of ether?
Avatar 4:52pm Honey Water:

@tim: Fierce indeed, but many avatars could KO you by punches of virtual cuteness.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59pm tim from champaign:

Aw c'mon....isn't Captain Lou's face cuter than a gorilla petting a litter of kittens?
Avatar 5:00pm Honey Water:

Enjoying this so much, Kurt.

@tim: Maybe. But he can't take a Punk Ponyo. ;)
  5:02pm mary:

sorry KURT about the mis-bryce. I love your show. VERY Much!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:04pm Caryn:

HW inspired me to switch avatars for a bit.
  5:04pm mary:

Yeh, Butch at Whitney space. Fantastic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05pm Mike East:

I think I hear R2D2 in this ensemble.
Avatar 5:05pm other david:

Mr. Leamas, go back, please....To your own side.
Avatar 5:05pm Kurt Gottschalk:

no worries, mary. punctuation smiley face.
Avatar 5:06pm steve:

do i heard a tape or a synth?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:06pm Mike East:

...didn't know he was still playing in '95
Avatar 5:06pm Honey Water:

@OD: Recalling the pizza box conveyance, here's a possible avatar: johnmariani.com...

or this: johnmariani.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:07pm northguineahills:

Ok, just heard back from the potential employers, They'll decide by next Thursday if their budget can match my salary requirements.
Avatar 5:07pm Honey Water:

Awww, Caryn: OK, you when the amphibian (?) cuteness award!
Avatar 5:08pm other david:

@HW:

*shocked and somewhat appalled silence*
Avatar 5:09pm Honey Water:

Oooh, and can I live in most mollusk Blaise Hamlet?
Avatar 5:10pm Honey Water:

@OD: Oh, yeah, sure, as if you aren't the model!
Avatar 5:11pm Honey Water:

arrgggh, it's Friday, -- s.b. WIN not when...not even a proper homophonic error, sigh...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:11pm Caryn:

@HW: oh, come on, I think it's a tie! And I think you might have to fight me to death over who gets to live in Blaise Hamlet. Unless we cohabitate.
Avatar 5:12pm Honey Water:

ANd I also put up the same link twice. I think I need to break from the 'puter. That triple streaming did a number on my brain. :/
HERE's the second option, OD:
www.spxpo.com...
I
Avatar 5:13pm Honey Water:

Hey, open it to everyone in the Friendship Society cult! :)
Avatar 5:14pm Honey Water:

@ngh: Still sending the good luck vibes your way as I have a nearly endless supply for you: }}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
Avatar 5:15pm other david:

@HW: whatever about the figure wearing the box and his lack of an OD belly, my true horror is reserved for the construction methods employed on that "vessel".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm Caryn:

I'll first have to find out if it is Tardis-like in proportions. You know, way bigger on the inside. The FS and all their record collections take up room.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm Mike East:

@HW - you just made me not so hungry for pizza tonight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm northguineahills:

Uhhhmmm, I hate to be overly taxonomically semantic, but turtles are reptiles, not amphibians. So, you both still retain the title of cutest of your taxonomic class.
Avatar 5:16pm glenn:

are you making homophonic slurs again, hw?
Avatar 5:16pm other david:

cuuute
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17pm northguineahills:

Thanks, i need all the good vibes I can get. I have a feeling they want to negotiate w/ the salary, which is fine, but I can't hint them to the fact I'm a wee desperate.
Avatar 5:18pm Honey Water:

Caryn, do you know where that bridge photo was taken? Sort of similar to ones I saw in Cambridge -- or was it Oxford? Hm. All your photos are spectacular.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:18pm Caryn:

Yay, we're both taxonomically cutest! Lucky I didn't pick that pic of the snake and the kitten as one of my other pictures, or I might have an internal battle for cutest reptile picture on my hands. Nah, the turtle would kick the snake's ass.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20pm stefica:

This is a great show. Thank you! How lame that I didn't know Butch Morris until now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20pm Caryn:

@HW: If I had an idea at some point, I no longer do. Too bad, I'd love to take a stroll there. But thankee for the compliment!
Avatar 5:23pm Honey Water:

@stefica: Speaking of profile photos, I'd love to be able to enlarge that panuut-tiny image, esp. w/ my eyes. Is it two cats, or a mirror or ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27pm northguineahills:

Click on the profile, it will embiggen the image.
Avatar 5:27pm Green Mountain Man Mark:

I am still working for some dumb reason again this week at this time. 3rd week in a row. Bout done though.
Avatar 5:28pm Honey Water:

@ngh: Except that it doesn't for the image in question.
Avatar 5:30pm Honey Water:

Unless you're going to tell me it's yet *another* singularity of my hard- and software. Try it and tell me if it gets bigger as you click to the limit, please?
Avatar 5:30pm Honey Water:

This sounds like the OD / Charlie Lewis wrestling match.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm Caryn:

@HW: no computer glitch of yours, it really doesn't get any bigger. But appears to be two cats.
Avatar 5:32pm other david:

hehe, HW we're saving that wrestling match for the Hoof n Mouth sinfonia
Avatar 5:34pm Honey Water:

Thanks, Caryn! One part of my brain is still in working order at least. But I am going to sign off and rest a bit. Philo's coming home late, which has only encouraged me to stay too long at the fair.

Thank you, DJKG!! Thanks, FS and those still abstaining for all the convo! Safe and happy weekends everybody -- bye!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35pm northguineahills:

It's just a singular kitty in the foreground, w/ a lounging kitty in the background.
Avatar 5:36pm other david:

Cya Honey Water, always a pleasure to yap :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:36pm Caryn:

@ngh: not the avatar pic, but the first of the other 2 pictures
Avatar 5:37pm slugluv1313:
