Avatar 3:29pm

That was rather uncanny. As was my crappy spelling.
Avatar 3:29pm
Caryn:

@ngh: then there are the more weird versions that feed each other. Like how Dusty Springfield changed the way she sang "Son of a Preacherman" live to match a rhythmic change in the Aretha recording. Or how Barry Manilow decided to start doing the fast version of "Could It Be Magic" when he heard Take That's recording, while Take That started doing the song slow in their concerts. It's as if they traded versions...

Avatar 3:43pm

Ugh, not album, but 7 inch EP. Finntengs is the name of the EP, not the artist. And it's from 2011. The EP is by JS666 and DJ Halitiainen, but that track was by JS666. And I think the track listings are f-ed up, because the name of the song should be "Sleng Teng Pippeli".

Kurt Gottschalk:

thanks, caryn!
Avatar 3:53pm
hamburger:

speaking of finntengs, had some dumle the other day. just saying
Avatar 3:58pm
Caryn:

@Mary: "The Finnteng concept is 1 part the "rock" rhythm track from the crown jewel Casio MT-40 of that Walt Disney of the organ, Tadio Kashio; 1 part the Midas touch of the King Jammy of producers, Lloyd James; and 1 part f-ing hard Finnish music.
The heavenly amalgamation of Japanese engineering know-how, Jamaican bass skills and Finnish folk mashup tradition - the Finnteng concept - is here.
The "Finntengs I" collection introduces tracks created using the Finnteng concept to the masses for the first time. The samples from DJ Halitiainen and JS666 pass on the empowering message that anything is possible in the field of dance, electronic and popular music. As you listen, you can visualize Jaakko Kolmonen (old Finnish tv chef) high-fiveing Wayne Smith. You may end up musing on the similarities and differences between my dingaling and the Sleng Teng dingaling. "Finntengs I" slaps on some colour and gives you the weaponry to get through your daily battles."
I cut some of the boring stuff, but that's about it.
