Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...no, but I believe the Cowsills *were* the model for the Partridge Family.
- *The* classic SunshinePop track. They were great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm I X Key!:

Good morning & happy day & happy Duane o'clock!
Avatar 12:27pm Duane:

Avatar 12:37pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

Work Jeremy? You work during Duane's show? Shame on you!
Avatar 12:38pm Jshatan:

Call me a philistine. Should that be capitalized?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm I X Key!:

I was just in the other room reading for my work & ran back over here because of Duana'e nice voice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm robyn:

oh that's awesome. i love sparks ..i'm jealous. propaganda.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm steve:

whats peoples favorite Sparks album. mines either No1 in Heaven or Angst in my Pants
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43pm steve:

dont think ive heard a single album they've done 90s to present
Avatar 12:43pm Duane:

I listened to "Big Beat" a lot..i know it's not there most popular, but i love it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm robyn:

exotic creatures of the deep is pretty good. "this is the renaissance" is hilarious.
Avatar 12:45pm Droll:

The more recent (2000's) Sparks like Balls and Hello Young Lovers is every bit as sharp as mid-70's Indiscreet. Less production, same songwriting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm robyn:

i'd love to find a place to karaoke "don't leave me alone with her."
Avatar 12:46pm Eli:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm robyn:

or any song really. they seem like a fun band to karaoke.
Avatar 12:47pm Cecile:

Kimono My House. It's a classic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm steve:

the copy of Big Beat i bought had the Woofer in Tweeter's Clothing record inside... i regularly wonder how to go about finding the inverse one with a WITC jacket with Big Beat inside... its out there somewhere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51pm tim from champaign:

Duane, could you play some Moroder Sparks? I haven't heard any of that era of Sparks.
  12:53pm common:

great show, duane!
Avatar 12:57pm Jshatan:

Serious 7" run!
  1:00pm J-Mar:

You are kicking some ass today, Duane!
Avatar 1:01pm doca:

hello duane, just to say great show as usual, i guess i'm gonna be late for work on purpose today.
Avatar 1:02pm Eli:

Why is my heart grey? My heart should be red!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm Mike East:

@Eli - because you clicked on your own profile.

Great show, duane!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm Mike East:

...and I'd say more of an indigo than a grey...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm steve:

oh my god i LOVE I'll Be True... RIP Vince Montana.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm efd:

people gotta stop dying.
Avatar 1:06pm Cecile:

for some reason I felt the urge to order the pre-10cc Hotlegs album and a colletction of everything they spit on from 1970-1973
Avatar 1:07pm Cecile:

and waterfall, one of their b-sides is one of the greatest hippie spoofs ever, but plays it straight until the very last line.
Avatar 1:07pm Cecile:

I didn't order that, though. Did you play that once, Duane, or was it CLay. Hum.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07pm efd:

@steve, I really like #1 In Heaven but also have to give props to Propaganda and Indiscreet, the two albums that really made me a fan way back when.
Avatar 1:08pm Eli:

@Mike, thanks man! I must have clicked the heart. This is a smooth one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm efd:

But really it's hard to go wrong with any of Kimono My House / Propaganda / Indiscreet / Introducing / No. 1 In Heaven and/or Angst in My Pants.
Avatar 1:09pm Cecile:

why not so many Kimono fans?
Avatar 1:09pm Duane:

That was Clay, Cecille..WISH i had that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10pm efd:

You're right Cecile, Kimono My House is also pretty solid.
Avatar 1:11pm Cecile:

they are one of the major gateway groups in turning me into a dissipate New Waver.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm steve:

hmm never heard Propaganda or Introducing... have and love all the other ones though
Avatar 1:11pm Jshatan:

This is fab - take me away Starship!
Avatar 1:13pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

Sorry, busy answering students emails, it's Senior Survey at Pratt ComD next Monday...
Avatar 1:13pm Cecile:

I should do a Grooveshark playlist or something of "the year 1976 in Cecile's life".
Don't know why I'm all backward-looking and all...
Avatar 1:13pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

But a totally fab show so far!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:14pm efd:

I feel like Introducing gets overlooked a lot, but it's great -
"Forever Young" is one of my most favorite Sparks songs.
Avatar 1:14pm Cecile:

Is that like Portfolio Day here, Jan? All the seniors in my class are getting twitchy getting last minute stuff for their books.
Avatar 1:16pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

My freshman year at Vassar a floor mate only listened to Sparks, nothing else, it was both kinda cool and a little unnerving...
Avatar 1:17pm Cecile:

That would be, Jan!
Avatar 1:17pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

No way as bad as the guy across the hall who listened to "Roxanne" over and over and over, and remember this was his putting the needle back to the start of the track over and over...
Avatar 1:18pm Cecile:

But I'm afraid I must have subjected one roommate to that---I must have played the B-52s album about 400 times straight.
Avatar 1:19pm Droll:

My junior year roommate only listened to the Grateful Dead. Not cool, very unnerving.

I think he's the one who stole my copy of The Spot by Snakefinger and threw it away. Playing that song all the way through even once was considered "overplayed".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm tim from champaign:

Ha! Just came back in from a fire drill. Was hanging with my friend outside who explained he happened to be working on nitrate film when the alarm went off.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm steve:

geez, glad i didn't start dorm life til Audiogalaxy. a friend at a different school did once tell me his alcoholic freshman roommate listened to nothing but Aretha Franklin for an entire semester.
Avatar 1:21pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

It took my quite a while to tolerate the B-52s, since, again at Vassar, all the preppies would fall on the floor and kick around during "Rock Lobster" they thought it was very punk...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm robyn:

@steve propaganda is great. some of my favorite sparks lyrics.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm robyn:

"the purple heart for valor please/and no heart for you denise" - reinforcements
Avatar 1:23pm Cecile:

we thought it was too, because we were in podunk ville and it was a shock to us to hear it on the radio. We'd call and request it all the time.
Avatar 1:23pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

No Cecile, it's not portfolio day, it's the review of all the work of the graduating ComD and Illustration students, the faculty goes around for 3 hours and reviews it, the best work gets into a big public show at the Manhattan Center on 34th street about a week later...
Avatar 1:24pm Cecile:

Ah, got it.
Avatar 1:24pm Cecile:

What a thrill it must be to get into that show.
  1:26pm pierre:

Duane and Duaniacs !!!
Avatar 1:28pm Jshatan:

Avatar 1:32pm Droll:

Avatar 1:35pm kata:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm SeanG:

Everything is Beautiful
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm robyn:

Avatar 1:43pm Droll:

Thanks for the Moroder Sparks! I would have much more faith in humanity if the Mael brothers were judging tryouts to be part of it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm robyn:

cool song.
Avatar 2:01pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

This is great...
  2:06pm drewo:

Love 'Circles'. Remember hearing it all the time on KISS, or maybe KTU, or BLS.
Avatar 2:07pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

Avatar 2:53pm Jennique:

Avatar 2:54pm Cecile:

Avatar 2:54pm Jan Audun Uretsky:

Yet another wonderful show almost in the books...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm Caryn:
