As a former frequent flier I can truly sympathize with our stuck friends. The travel industry can be deeply unpleasant, and long exposures like that make you age prematurely.

On long flights I always have a book or two and papers etc. to pass time with. I overnighted once in Heathrow when flying standby to meet a friend in Berlin who needed an "emergency" visit. Overnighting in a huge airport's concourse is a weird experience the first time you do it.

Droll:

Traveling is a way of life through experience. The "weird" is superfluous.

I find air travel especially grueling, and can only afford it once a year thankfully. Just feels wrong, though I appreciate the convenience of getting to a faraway place fairly quickly.

True, but when they stop (which they will) with the no electronic devices idiotic BS, one can stream FMU from JFK to wherever overnight.

G, The edit from where the tape was eaten.
Funny thing is, if you saw the waveform for a typical pop song and this song, you probably couldn't tell them apart.

Not that time, but I've done those many x before! That was a "pregnant pause" between two mp3s- intentional.

The finer appreciation of Dried Up Corpse (and BSBC) is all about texture, and assault, of course.

Avatar 2:34am
William:

Thanks, fred. ...The Castle will be taking a break for the next WFMU schedule, but upon my return, the last few weeks' shows are more reflective of where I'll be going, sound-wise. Perhaps more "sci-fi" than "horror" - a focus on deeply engaging instrumental music.

Not sure when the schedule will be announced, by my last show is in two weeks, June 6-7, with Psychic Limb, live. A great local grindcore band I've been trying to book for a while. ...The new show will definitely be more "Kosmische-spieler." I'm sorry to go as well, but I have family matters and a home business that need my attention—this show is a lot of work, prep-wise. ... Can't thank you all enough for tuning in and digging on it.
Avatar 2:55am
Droll:

No A440, no MCoQ... There number of noticeable gaps on the schedule is growing.
