Avatar 11:03am Nanker Phelge:

Glad to hear you Michael! Perfect start for this show!
Avatar 11:13am Juke Joint Jonny:

I feel for you, Joe Tex, but I have to believe the problems at home are bigger than your gal being a fan of a particular TV show.
  11:14am surdog:

longest day of the year YAHOOOO!!
Kowabunga dudes!!!!!

going to Grimaldi's Pizzeria down here in Floriduh, probably not as good as the one in Brooklyn
feeegeeta bout it!
11:26am Michael from the Left Coast:

Nice name check for Joe Petrillo in the Merle Travis tune (he was head of the musicians union).
  11:29am Lynn Roy:

Hi Michael Today is my daughter's half birthday, too!! Violet Roy is 18 months today.

  11:33am Ted the Farmer:

DJ...you complain constantly and then you complain about people who are negative...maybe it's time to reread Tartuffe.
  11:35am surdog:

Michael, no sneakers for us, mostly we go barefoot down here in Floriduh, but they wear pajama bottoms and bedroom slippers when going to walmart!
Avatar 11:36am Michael Shelley:

ted - you are wrong.
11:42am Michael from the Left Coast:

Michael--it's "Murray the K" not "Murry" if we're talking about the same one and I suspect we are
  11:44am rob s:

tough crowd, tough crowd
  11:45am Jay:

Ironically, Converse sneakers were cheap until the original American manufacturer went out of business due to a temporary phase of non-popularity for their brand. Another company bought the brand, shipped all manufacturing to China, and made them expensive. You see the same phenomenon with brands like Clarks – their classic desert boots are also made in China, but more expensive than ever.
Avatar 11:46am Dr. Goot:

I am enjoying the show, thanks Michael!
Avatar 11:47am ChooChoo - ATL:

"Down the Road A Piece" - enjoying the Rock and Roll!
Avatar 11:48am tomB:

sneakers? P.F. Flyers!
Avatar 11:50am Dr. Goot:

Avatar 11:50am ChooChoo - ATL:

@tomB: Run Faster, Jump Higher!
  11:59am Hackensack Slim:

You are 100% correct about Converse. I wore them since I was a kid. And they always wore out on the soles after about 2 years. After the sale to the other company, the price doubled(which I could live with) but then they started tearing on the sides after 6 months. Definitely designed to wear out sooner. So they cost twice as much and last 25% as long. In effect an 800% price increase. Pro Keds are available via mail order but a very slim selection, color wise. It ain't easy being cool.
Avatar 12:17pm ChooChoo - ATL:

Great cover of "I Don't Know Want to Know The Reasons I Love You!"
Avatar 12:30pm Phelger Nank:

Great show, as ever.

Ted's right, though. Mike, you constantly moan & whinge. Converse, pretty much all movies, fancy music, people who don't return emails or answer in the manner that you want, 'haters,' impolite people, Wikipedia, the internet generally, popular music today, modern production methods, hipsters, drug users, people who disagree with you, Spotify....I could go on. You rant 2-3 times every show. You're very negative, man. I'm only backing up Ted because you haven't taken his comment seriously. It's plain as day, man. Listen to your own shows on archive...

I am a doctor and I proscribe more green tea and massages.
#1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2021 12:33pm David in ATL from NJ:

Thanks for that Chris Sprague interview last week, Michael. That was a real treat. I knew he was real talented but I learned that he was even more of a musician than I thought.
Avatar 12:33pm ChooChoo - ATL:

  12:35pm Paul:

Weird, I just heard this song for the first time the other day. deep deep soul
Avatar 12:42pm Snortley:

Looks like you closed the playlist as if the show were over. Maybe that's why it's not working for you.
Avatar 12:48pm Snortley:

Dr. Nank's patients should think twice about making appointments with a practitioner who doesn't understand the distinction between "proscribe" and "prescribe." Doctor of what? Homeopathy?
Avatar 12:52pm Dr. Goot:

excellent prescription rendition description Snortly!
Avatar 12:56pm Dr. Goot:

Porky Prime Parker!
Avatar 12:57pm Dr. Goot:

Avatar 12:59pm Michael Shelley:

In this show I've praised the live remote we had last Thursday, talked about how great Jay's new cds is and been enthusiastic about every record I've played. If it's too negative for you - switch it off.
  1:02pm Hackensack Slim:

Tell' em Mike. If something sucks and you point it out, that's being a observant realist. It's not being negative. Love your show, man.
Avatar 1:05pm Michael Shelley:

I try keep it to complaining about people who are not constructive - not the same thing as complaining about people who are negative. & Thanks for sticking up for me!
