I am completely in love with Donnie and Joe Emerson after last week's interview. This song is so joyful and haunting at the same time. Amazing stuff.

Good morning, Michael. Hey, have you heard the Numero Group's Buttons compilation? Sounds like a bunch of Cheap Trick stuff, most pretty good!
Avatar 12:03pm
Michael Shelley:

JMD - agree

scott:

Hondells was a Gary Usher studio concoction. I think that Richie Burns was one of the session singers, whom they later sent on the road to lead the touring version of the group. Obviously he's not on this instrumental...
Avatar 12:10pm
Michael Shelley:

an interesting lp - "directed by" Nick Venet, produced by "DEN-VET Productions", liner notes by Roger Christian, Some of the songs by Richie Polodor - who made very similar instrumentals as The Pacific Surfers, and played w/ Sandy Nelson
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm
Greg from Bloomfield:

"Apple Doldrums". Sounds like an obscure Guided By Voices EP...

Show sounding great Michael!

Next play "Lost In My World" by the Outsiders. It sounds NOTHING LIKE "Time Won't Let Me"!
Avatar 12:26pm
Joe B:

Polodor also produced most of the Three Dog Night hits and Im sure many others. sounds like a candidate for a No. 1 Hit Interview!
Avatar 12:28pm

Outsiders "Backwards & Upside-down" as well

I'd have Q-tips too, and they'd have to be wooden-stick ones. None of that cardboard sh*t.

I don't think i've heard that before

Lindsay:

Are these Gay torch songs or is it my imagination?
  10:51pm
Joe:

Totally agree on the Beatles' Help! comment during the show! If there's such a thing as an underrated Beatles album, that's it (likely due to the US chop job at the time, it's a movie soundtrack, etc.)
