Hey davex, glenn!
With the toes pigeons have? I'd rather be a pigeonwing.

How long ago was this field recording made? I can't believe people are still saying "there aren't any jobs".

MISSISSIPPI JOHN HURT! Truly the IMMORTAL!
Love him, perhaps my fave bluesman! The Lovin' Spoonful's John Sebastian was very inspired by his singing as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:05pm
dale:

joe's yard sale - i like it. did he have any doodads or geegaws?
Avatar 6:06pm
MenfussMike:

visited MS John's grave last November and his home. In the middle of nowhere and ran into an old lady who used to see him play when she was in her teens.
Avatar 6:08pm
Clay Pigeon:

Not sure how old the MissJohnHurt is.

Dale, it was pretty great. Just outside of Roxbury.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08pm

Hi Matt and all the Pigeoneers...
Avatar 6:08pm
Matt from Springfield:

@dale: Joe should sell or loan out more of his records, they're pretty great!
@Menfuss: That's pretty cool!
Avatar 6:09pm
Matt from Springfield:

@davex: Walt Whitman had a poem, "Pioneers". Good format to change into a "Pigeoneers" poem!

damn you clay - i haven't been up there in a couple of years. bank is taking my friend's house (not that he wasn't at fault). i miss it, always loved stopping at the yard sales and flea market in arkville on the way up 28
Avatar 6:10pm
MenfussMike:

yea, his grave is po dunk. i mean wayyyyyyy off the main highway on a gravel road. kinda spooky, but pretty cooll
Avatar 6:11pm
Clay Pigeon:

Somehow the sirens always blend into the music. The music of the city.
Dale - I've done some interviews at the Arkville Flea. Interesting people there.
  6:12pm
Night Al:

I drove a Sebring Convertible all over Mississippi while I was living there for work. I drove from Natchez to Memphis once. Great trip. Had good cd's to play the whole way. I broke a blues harp in by holding it up and letting the Mississippi wind blow through it. Stopped in Rolling Fork where Muddy Waters was born and burned a doobie. I had pulled down a dirt road next to some farmers crop. i was well into the doobie when I noticed a little black boy crouched down in the crop spying on me. Freaked me out. Had to split fast.
Avatar 6:13pm
Clay Pigeon:

Hope you went to Tupelo, Night Al. To see Elvis' tiny little house.

Impeached over Benghazi...that's the instance I lost all benefit of the doubt for this dude. How about "one of our top 10 presidents" on Iraq? 4,000 of our troops and untold numbers of civilians.

And yeah! Boston! 9/11! Truth! Something! Bla bla bla bla bla!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16pm
dale:

my aunt and uncle lived in tupelo a little while - she told me of meeting elvis when she was just a child bride herself- so weird you mentioned that

@Night Al: The Miss Delta has lost a lot of population due to farmhands being replaced by modern machines--it's likely you could've finished that doobie without being caught, nowadays.
@glenn: +10 to your comment!

Night Al:

Been to Tupelo, I never stopped at Elvis' boyhood home. I took the Graceland tour once. I lagged behind and found myself alone in his TV room. 3 tv's built into his wall. I imagined myself there when Elvis was there. I wrote my name on his stone wall on the 20th anniversary of his death. Big day in Memphis...August 16th, 1997. TCB in a flash baby!

This Marketts song is by Bill Puhlman (is that right?). Guessing this is wrecking crew folks.
Avatar 6:21pm

We need Zealoft, a mellowing medication to cut down on zeal. Life's so much funner without the zeal.
Avatar 6:21pm

No Night Al, not Graceland, Graceland Too in Holly Springs, MS. Much better than Graceland.
