Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

A Conversation with FMU Volunteer, Nate
Thanks for listening to this Dusty Double-Feature. Thanks to Andy and Night People for allowing me to fill in. I hope you enjoyed the program. It was a somber but at the same time exciting experience to be part of the Trayon Martin March. It was good to see lots of people in the streets speaking their minds and exercising their rights to protest. Regardless of the outcome of the trial, Trayvon did not die in vain. As with Occupy, he has generated conversation and dialogue about important issues and opened eyes to the need for change. RIP Trayvon Martin. Always remember.

It was good to take some calls and play some records on this episode. I really love playing music on the radio and I wish I could do it more often. It's also great speaking with you listeners and hearing your thoughts, ideas, and feelings about things. You are a unique bunch of people unlike any other.

Now I go to do what I seem to be doing about 1/2 of my life. Putting away records, filing them, going through them. Just lately I've begun to feel like a borderline hoarder. Just a few too many laying around here. Might have to get a table at the record fair and liquidate some stock. Until next time, take care, enjoy your summer and ... always remember.

evening clay! sweating to the oldies up in the country.

This tragedy was a media-hyped event that millions mindlessly bought into.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06pm
Ike:

Hey hey hey hey hey!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm

this makes me think of that speech tom joad gives to his ma at the end of grapes of wrath - as long as a cop's beating a guy - clay will be there.

I concur Carmichael.
Avatar 6:08pm
glenn:

any right wing morons on today's show?
Avatar 6:08pm
Night Al:

Personally, I think the jury got it right. Even though Zimmerman instigated the whole incident, he attacked Zimmerman. Martin should have ran home, not confront someone following him. Neighborhood watch is a good thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:10pm
Ike:

I haven't been following the details of the case. Do we REALLY know FOR SURE that Martin attacked Zimmerman? Is there any real evidence of that, or is that just Fox News/Drudge bullshit?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm
dale:

zimmerman should have gone home LIKE THE POLICE TOLD HIM TO but he continued on and initiated a fight as you say - and the jury got it right?
Avatar 6:11pm
Night Al:

How did Zimmerman catch up to Martin. Martin waited to confront Zimmerman. Then he started throwing punches and straddled him. Bad move when the dudes got a gun. As he found out the hard way. Tragedy.
Avatar 6:12pm
Clay Pigeon:

Dale, Carmichael, Ike, Glenn, Night Al ... good to see you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:12pm
dale:

were you there?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:13pm
dale:

only one person is around to tell the story - the way he wants it told.
Avatar 6:14pm
Night Al:

It's not illegal for a neighborhood watch person to follow someone. A jurist said the responding veteran cop saying he believed Zimmerman's story about the attack swayed them to acquit.
Avatar 6:16pm
glenn:

because of course, the popo never, ever, ever lie.
Avatar 6:16pm
Night Al:

This 'stand your ground law' is a bitch. You really got to watch your anger management here in Florida. Just assume the other person is packing heat.
Avatar 6:16pm
Carmichael:

That's my point. None of us were there, nor do we have the faintest idea of what actually occured. But millions across the nation are rioting and screaming, because of what they've heard in the press and believe to be true.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16pm
dale:

o.j. was innocent, too.
Avatar 6:17pm
glenn:

yeah well. florida can go fuck itself.
Avatar 6:18pm
Carmichael:

If Zimmerman was found guilty, all the Jewish Mexicans would be rioting. And they're some TOUGH bastards!
Avatar 6:18pm
Night Al:

I served as a jurist on a 'high profile' case once. That whole 'beyond the shadow of a reasonable doubt' thing is drilled in your head first thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm
Ike:

Carm, is anybody actually rioting? I don't think so.

But you make a good point, assuming there is still no more evidence of what actually happened than there originally was. The right-wing depiction of what happened can't be proven, but unfortunately it can't be definitely disproven either, can it?

Nate:

I've been to Rev Al Green's church. Great experience!
