Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

It's a SUPERPAUL song!!
(The sunshine pop hit A-side placed on the single to balance out the B-side "I Am The Walrus")

My "quick answer" to fave Beatles song is "Because".

I was listening to Paul & The Wings earlier today ... Man We Was Lonely, Another Day, Every Night, Let Em In, then Mr Kite, Walrus.

In the Rutles *bio*, Lennon's character was called Ron Nasty.

"You li'l twat!"
"Piss off!"
"The wee bugger wants a kiss, does 'e!"
"Give us a kiss, love!"

Maybe not *quite* like that...but people aren't always what they seem, 'specially not when drunk...

The George track on the Yellow Submarine was "Only a Northern Song".
Avatar 6:11pm
Matt from Springfield:

Speaking of "Another Day", there are AT LEAST 3 songs from the '70s titled "Another Day". All of them great!

Paul & Linda's well-known "Another Day" (upbeat tune with depressing undertone), The Rutles "Another Day" (their "Martha My Dear" takeoff), and of course Roy Harper's excellent portrait of a fractured marriage (listen to Peter Gabriel & Kate Bush's version!)
Avatar 6:11pm
Carmichael:

Listen to the National Lampoon's send-up of Lennon called Genius is Pain. They could never play it on FMU.
Avatar 6:11pm
Matt from Springfield:

@NGH: AND "It's All Too Much". 6 original songs on one side, and 2 were George's. Not his bestest works, but what a George density!

I always respected Eddy Rabbit and his songwriting/performing. Died way too early.

@Carm: I'll have to look for that. (There's always the WEB streams! ;)

The Rutles "Cheese and Onions" was originally performed by Neil Innes on SNL before the movie was made, as an early solo Lennon parody.

Good call, clay! I hadn't listened to Beatles for a long time, but tonight I played in this order: "She said.. tomorrow never knows & Hello goobye" Coincidentaly.. o.O

Kirwan and Welch, a good bridging period between the Peter Green and Buckingham/Nicks eras.

@Night Al: Me too! I love a lot of Bob Welch's songs. Real shocking tragedy about his suicide, unexpected and perhaps the violent method of death. It was implied he had cancer or something.

Right on, Carm! His great aunt was still living in the house when we went in the late 80s, she was out on the back patio!

Matt: We did it as a long weekend trip from Richmond, so it's not that tough! We just didn't have time to go to Al Green's church service, which even as an athiest, I'd dig.

Alice on politics: "Throughout his career, Cooper's philosophy regarding politics is that politics should not be mixed with rock music.
