Hello! Thanks for dropping by!

[picking a "by" off the floor] Excuse me everyone, I think someone dropped this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11am
pacific standard simon:

I have to say, Therese... that was a very... DUBIOUS version of "Up Up And Away"....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13am
pacific standard simon:

Or perhaps "questionable" is the proper adjective...
Avatar 12:13am
fleep:

I wish there was a Cavern of Anti-Matter closer to here. Local stores never have the good stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15am
pacific standard simon:

@Droll - That's what I said to someone at work today who said he was working his ass off.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17am
pacific standard simon:

TWO Hawkwind-playing DJs in a row? I kvell!
Avatar 12:17am
Droll:

I never thought about that phrase before. Yes, it is an odd part of your anatomy to lose to hard work.
Avatar 12:19am
Therese:

I would agree with "questionable," @pss
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29am
pacific standard simon:

There is some fun going on.

I once heard a busker claim that John Fogerty wrote "Suzy Q" about his girlfriend, Suzi Quatro. There is just so much wrong with that idea. I wanted to punch him, or laugh in his face.

Steve-O:

Hi Therese, how are you? How's my favorite nighttime DJ? =)

Howdy friends! Making some stuffed poblanos for tomorrow's lunch, so, I haven't chimed in.!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34am

Stuffed with what, ngh? Save some for me.
Avatar 12:36am

Up Up and Away is a Fifth Dimension cover.
Avatar 12:38am
Therese:

It was written by Jimmy Webb, apparently. I don't think I've ever heard his version.
Avatar 12:41am
BadGuyZero:

Jimmy Webb had a show in Dallas tonight. I thought about going to hassle him about that song "The Worst That Could Happen."

I took a nap instead.
Avatar 12:45am

potatoes, tofu, onions, home grown jalapenos, curry, cumin, and coriander! I'll save some!

OoOOooOOOOoOOO! Curry town!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48am

Sounds faboo -- I can't get enough curry, but the missus won't have it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:51am

Made stew tonight with black-eyed peas, tomatoes, kale, sweet potatoes and chicken meatballs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55am

O how I love this song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04am

"Incarnation" works, but so does "iteration". Take your pick.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07am

I confess that I listen to more Give The Drummer Radio shows than regular FMU, but assume the money all goes to the same place. :)

My high school chemistry teacher often advised me to pursue a career in radio.
Avatar 1:15am
egal:

Now they teach meth labs in chem class.
Avatar 1:16am
northguineahills:

Awesome, pss!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17am
pacific standard simon:

Yeah, chemistry was one of the most practical courses I ever had in college, and one of two that I didn't ace (geometry was the other).
Avatar 1:17am
Droll:

Always add a liquid to a solid when mixing so it doesn't splash. Also good advice in the kitchen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20am
pacific standard simon:

True dat, droll.
Avatar 1:24am
BadGuyZero:

My chemistry teacher also used movie quotes as bonus questions on tests. I was the only kid in the class that got bonus points for knowing that "Home is where you wear your hat" was from "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26am
pacific standard simon:

It has to be said: Chemistry teachers are demented fucks. But, the good kind.
Avatar 1:28am
Therese:

I loved when teachers added sympathy bonus questions to tests. I wouldn't have done nearly as well in geometry without them.
Avatar 1:32am
Droll:

I think my physics teacher was one of only 2-3 HS teachers I had respect for because he actually knew his subject. Alas, if students are fungible, then so are teachers.
  1:33am
Steve-O:

Aw man, Therese, I woulda LOVED that! I was never that good at geometry myself. =(
Avatar 1:35am

Swimming coach. Perfect cover!

Most of my teachers were alright. =)
  1:36am
Steve-O:

But I love your voice, Therese. I could never stop in the middle of a show. =)

I got extra credit in Zoology for a paper on observing a rhinoceros. The rhinoceros took sick and was put down the next day. Sad but true.
