Anybody see Elton John on Emmys tonight? His TelePrompTer had the chords on it, like a band's cheat sheet; Am, Dm, Fm7. What good is that to guy like him?

Did Spooky Tooth become Mott the Hoople or something. I used to know this stuff.

That was Luther Grosvenor, who changed his name to Ariel Bender & replaced Mick Ralphs in Mott. Also played in Stealers Wheel and Widomaker.

The Spooky Tooth family tree is truly awesome, but its most famous progeny is undoubtedly Cresskill, New Jersey's own Gary Wright, who had a monster awful hit with "Dreamweaver".

On Friday I had lunch with a friend after which we went bowling at some neighborhood lanes. It was the first time I had ever heard The Jesus & Mary Chain, Yo La Tengo and The Replacements songs playing in a bowling alley. It felt like being in some alternate universe John Hughes movie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04am

I'd rather be listening to this Jesus and Mary Chain song.

I sure did. My best friend got a really awesome book about S. Freud and his trips to Coney Island. I also got a birthday gift for my father: a collection of gun target images printed by Hans, Hans and some other one... Hans?
