I think that 101ers track became 'police on my back'
Avatar 12:08pm herb.nyc:

hi all. i have very very few bootleg vinyl but i do have the white sleeved 101'ers. and, i think the JOE mural is back on the wall of niagara, in the e.village.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09pm tim from champaign:

So this might be the more appropriate form, how was St. Vitus, kirk?
  12:10pm jt:

Iggy is God
Avatar 12:11pm kirk from beer city usa:

was hoping you'd appear here, tim, since I'm dying to tell ya. I had a great time, and am elated today thinking about it. st. vitus exceeded my expectations, and after decades of digging their records, I was not let down.
Avatar 12:11pm Diane Kamikaze:

Hi All! Thanks for tuning in! I had hoped to have a guest on today who I didn't announce because they were taking the redeye out from the left coast last night...as it turns out they are not coming! So it's just us and the SILENT fundraiser!! Also the Joe Strummer mural at Niagara is gone!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15pm tim from champaign:

Excellent, kirk. Experiencing Dave Chandler's solos is awesome. I'm glad Vitus still has it. When I saw them in Lubbock a few years ago, they seemed to be very stoked on playing. How did Senor Bowzer dig it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Voivod! !! !!!
Avatar 12:19pm herb.nyc:

as for JOE mural, brooklynvegan august 21 - Speaking of Joe Strummer, the internet had a bit of a panic attack this week when the Joe Strummer memorial outside Niagra bar (Ave. A @ E. 7th St.) disappeared, but as East Village Radio points out, and owner Jesse Malin confirms it had to be taken down due to building repairs and is currently being redone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm common:

just got back and...voivod.
Avatar 12:19pm kirk from beer city usa:

voivod, alright!
tim, the last time I saw an ageing band that rocked it that hard was rocket from the tombs. I vowed then to never count a band out, since after all, I'm getting older too, ya know? RB was way more into pallbearer (meh)
Avatar 12:20pm herb.nyc:

plus, JOE PERNICE had a real pretty song that had lyric "pictures of strummer" from his LIVE A LITTLE record (glug, song title???)
Avatar 12:24pm Luna:

My bloody speakers aren't working at my desk. Help! And, I missed VOIVOD!!!!!!!!

Avatar 12:42pm Cecile:

Note to TV producers out there - this song would be great for an ID TV ad for one of those "creepy cult" shows.

Avatar 1:45pm Droll:

I never finished the quiz because I had to look one up: "Akercocke is an English progressive blackened death metal band". Naturally they appear 3 times in the WFMU archives, all on this very program.
Avatar 1:45pm Jim:

Avatar 1:57pm kirk from beer city usa:

damn, 19 out of 20, AND this excellent set.
Avatar 1:59pm PKNY:

I was down near Niagra last Wednesday, the new Strummer mural is actually mounted on the wall instead of painted on the wall. At the time I was there, it was covered in a plaster tarp, because the side of building was getting power washed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm tim from champaign:

Seaweed were the bounciest band I ever saw.
Avatar 2:01pm Sean D. Daily:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm tim from champaign:

Has anyone ever heard Bad Religion's Into The Unknown record? I'm not a Bad Religion fan but I'd really like to hear it.
Avatar 2:04pm WKR-CP in Cincinnati:

I don't like Bad Religion either, except for their theme song.
Avatar 2:05pm Jim:

yes..it is unlike any Bad Religion Lp..Keyboards very odd record..but I love it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm tim from champaign:

Yeah, that's exactly why I want to hear it, Jim.
Avatar 2:07pm Jim:

I am sure someone has put it up on You Tube by now..it was re-released last year in a box set
Avatar 2:09pm Whosondephone:

Is this Diamond Dave on vocals? Seriously.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm common:

is this diamond dave? gotta be!
Avatar 2:28pm northguineahills:

Maybe it's my roots, but I really dig Dixie Witch's sound. Vocals may be a bit too Chris Cornelish for me.
Avatar 2:32pm PKNY:

For some reason this Cathedral track reminds me of some of the slower parts of Celtic Frost's "Monotheist" record.
Avatar 2:34pm northguineahills:

I dig Celtic Frost, but most of their genre siblings I usually have a hard time adapting to.
Avatar 2:47pm Green Mountain Man Mark:

Oh, I see that I missed Beef Cattle earlier. What do you call it when cows move their butts around to music? Beef twerky.
Avatar 2:48pm joshS:

Great Tribes of Neurot song!
Avatar 2:51pm Green Mountain Man Mark:

And bulls pleasuring themselves to the sight of the cows twerking is beef strokenoff.

Avatar 2:54pm WKR-CP in Cincinnati:

Voivod made me pledge again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm tim from champaign:

Yeah, Diane. You think you feel bad, then just think about all the little Dianamaniacs out there who don't say their prayers and yell "VOOOIIIVVVOOODDD" every week who you deprived.
Avatar 2:56pm Jim:

when the goal is complete..the cow screams VOOOOOOOOOOOOOOIVOOOOOOOOOOOOD
Avatar 2:57pm Sean D. Daily:

So I take it you guys like Voivod.
Avatar 2:57pm Jim:

Avatar 2:58pm Green Mountain Man Mark:

I think the dog should be the one to yell that.
Avatar 3:12pm Cecile:

I yam still trying to get that stupid quiz to work...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I was driving home and missed the second Voivod. My IKEA or Death quiz result was 14 out of 20.
