Sounds like Jerry, ya ...
  11:28am Casi:

The reason for the re-recording of popular rnb at the time might have been to get it played on white radio stations and sold by department stores so they could sell popular music that wasnt black.
Avatar 11:54am ChooChoo - ATL:

"Phil Spector did a lot of takes . . . " Was Spector honing in on something in particular or looking at various possibilities of the music?

Saturday, November 16th, 11am - 1pm: Robert Gordon author of "Respect Yourself: Stax Records and the Soul Explosion"
Michael chats with author Robert Gordon about his new book "Respect Yourself: Stax Records and the Soul Explosion" which chronicles the meteoric rise and tragic fall of the Memphis based Stax label.
Avatar 12:13pm Jimmy Wipper:

Speaking of Jerry Reed, I heard a funny interview with McCartney the other day. He said he was recording "Sally G." in Nashville, and Reed was playing on the track. Paul told him he was thinking of going back on the road and Reed said, "Hell, if I was Paul McCartney, I'd just BUY the road!"
