Morning everybody! So great to know that I'm not alone on this, the latest morning of the year! I found that version Vicki, thanks! Ken from HP, the performance space is coming along but the holdup is the extremely picky Jersey City Building Department But we will get it open this year for sure.
My goal this morning is to do no harm. I dont want to increase the pain on anybody who happens to tune in whild they are still have a sweaty itching brain.
Ken, that's where you renew your Evil Genius creds. Why would anyone afraid of pain turn in to your show?
@Asheville Jon: I honestly, unsarcastically enjoy Yoko Ono's music. More than anything Lennon did, alone or with his band
sunday morning coming down is a fine song for those who need some hair of the dog. on an unrelated note, i wish i was a 60 ft man and could peep like that
fred: while i can enjoy some ono stuff every now and again, i think many people might find it painful if nursing a head issue caused by overindulgence.
when i was a little kid my parents went out to a social club (they rarely drank). they come home that night and my father was holding my stumbling mother up - she had pissed her pant suit and was laughing hysterically. scared the crap out of me.
Happy New Year, Ken! I would sure love to hear "Sunday Kind of Love." Not the Etta James version, though. The song by Israel Houghton, which is so much more your Kind of Style.
@Mark S: I need to listen to Metal Box again, thanks for reminding me. I saw PiL two months ago, not great, but honest and generous, and all music, no crap. Lydon has lost an octave and doubled in width, but it was a nice show
@Fred I don't know Lydon has become a somewhat embarrassing with all his "I'm working class me" stuff and he will tell everyoine over and over how honest he is. Though Metal Box is still great.
@Mark S: That was my opinion too, I only went because I had never seen PiL, and got a rebate on the ticket. But on stage there was none of that crap, and it was much better than what I expected (hooray for low expectations!). I'd say give him a chance if the ticket isn't expensive
This PLU track comes conveniently pre-starred, no need to test my eye-hand coordination, which is a good thing
@Mark S: in that case you're probably better off not seeing them now
The transmitter is not tuned. It usually comes in fine on my car and home radios. But since yesterday at at least 6:50 it has not been coming in clearly on 91.1. I hope I'm not the only person who has reported this.
Late breaking entrant: the Palestinian ambassador to the Czech Republic apparently blew himself up, staking a claim to both the Darwin awards and the Wikipedia notable list. YMMV, it's all unconfirmed media blather
re: the NSA logo: back when I was working in the defense industry, the NSA were highly respected, in part because nobody on the street had heard of them. How the mighty have fallen.
Sounds good on home stereos here in beautiful Nwk. Car stereo was good last night except when it was so cold that my retractable antenna couldn't get it up.
Thanks KP< same to you and yours. Fred, that's not really the NSA logo, is it? I thought the NSA logo was a menacing feral octopus sucking the life out of Lady Liberty.
It puzzled me too at first: an eagle clutching a key looks like it's just because it's shiny, a raven would know better. Then again, accumulating shiny things without a clue what to do with them looks like a fit
@Guido: Düsseldorf is a bit closer for you. I'd have to listen to a few albums on the way.

It's Wednesday AM- I forgot- thinking only that it was 2014. Fortunately I can listen to the archive,
kind of like leftover turkey the day after Thanksgiving. Still tastes good, just reheated. Happy new year to you Ken, and all of the listeners who gather here each Wednesday morning.

davex,
Or you just can listen to the Wagner's album Der Ring des Nibelungen
Hard to believe that exactly La Düsseldorf and Neu had the most quarrels and sues of all German bands. Maybe because of drug-nebulised mind of Klaus Dinger.
Düsseldorf has the largest Japan community in Germany by the way.
@davex : my ears were in the east quite recently, checking my old Amiga pressings (Renft, Team4, early Electra-Combo, early Nina Hagen), great performances and good productions.
A story my mom told me on the phone this morning - my brother-in-law has been drinking lots of coffee & Mountain Dew for years and decided Monday morning to quit cold turkey. That evening, he felt very weak and spent the night in the hospital. That's some serious caffeine withdrawal.
You don’t do that! You ween yourself off! For example, now I just have one or two cups of green tea. Boom! Done… After years of weening… And Sanka… Holy crap, Sanka… That will stop you ingesting anything.
