I think Eli is singing this to Peyton today to help cheer him up.

I've had a miserable day at work but I'm laughing so hard at this interview right now

Ray Guy was a one-man Legion of Boom! I loved the Oakland Raiders of the 1970's/early 80's when they were one of the most disliked, and best, teams in sports. Guy booming 60 yard punts! Ken 'Snake' Stabler leading 2-minute marches downfield with a rifle-like left arm! Fred Bilitnikof making catches using the just the sides of his arms! Players with nicknames like the Assassin, and the first sports team to feature black prominently in their color scheme. George Blanda! Jim '00' Otto! They went 3-0 in Super Bowls between 1976 and 1984 and it was the last time I truly loved a NFL team.

Well, a touchdown was only 5 points until 1908. (Not sure why I know that).

Media Day interviews! Yay, have to catch the rest of these!

Hey Bronwyn and Jim and Super Bowl WTFers!
  6:35pm
Robert:

I remember when Steve O'Neill got that 98 yarder (97 net) for the Jets. Curley Johnson had been cut in favor of this rookie, and I wondered why, considering Curley Johnson was a damn good veteran, but that punt silenced all the doubts.

Robert:

Hey, northguineahills, did you know that in Canadian football, a TD was still only 5 points until about 50 yrs. later than that?

Hey Marcel!
That's great--glad the weather was good for you! :)
AND getting to see that Bruno Mars/RHCP show LIVE! :D
Avatar 6:42pm
Matt from Springfield:

Were you able to take a PATH train there? Taking the PATH to a Super Bowl is an opportunity that doesn't come around often.
  6:42pm
Robert:

In the NFL, you don't get to recover your punt onside as you can in Canadian football. I didn't overhear him mention that difference.
  6:44pm
Robert:

No, the 98 yarder was at Shea IIRC.
  6:46pm
Robert:

But following up on what I wrote before, at the time the predecessor to the NFL, the APFA, got going, the onside kick was still legal in American football too.

Marcel M:

@Matt, I actually took a bus from Manhattan and it was really really easy. Not sure why the news had tons of people complaining about how horrible getting there was. And yeah seeing Anthony Kiedis with Bruno Mars was a strange thing.

Probably they're referring to a much more recent 98 yards NET punt. O'Neal's was returned for 1 yard, making it 97 net.

Awesome, Marcel.

@Robert: I do believe I read that. While on furlough from work, I've been spending way too much time on wikipedia.
  6:55pm

I didn't get it from Wikipedia, I remembered from listening to the Jets game on the radio.
