You have me trained like Pavlov's dog with that theme song DJ Julie. Hope you have lots of fun this morning.

Yes! Intro music makes me so happy.

Just tuned in, Life At Last is a good song to stumble onto.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 3:12am

Hey there folks! brand new Kristeen just got it today :)
Avatar 3:13am

This Krristeen Young sounds like it draws from tons of influences, I hear techno, Blondie and newer artists that I'm too old to name.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 3:14am

she has a new band too, hoping to have her in again!
Avatar 3:16am

That would be exciting for me, I can only guess how exciting that is for you Julie to host exciting acts like that. Kristeeen's Wiki cites an association with Bowie that makes sense.

Hi Julie, just wanted to let you know I'm here quietly enjoying your show :-)
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 3:19am

Whooda she was my first musical guest..3 years ago I guess it was. and yes I'd been a fan for years so it was HUGE :) Hey there Holly!
Avatar 3:20am

Holly, did you finally vanquish the Abominable Ice Monster and find your way home again?
Avatar 3:25am
Holly in NC:

Whooda, I am indeed in my own home covered with my own cats :-) And it was 70F this afternoon!
Avatar 3:27am

Great news Holly, now get out there and get that garden plot ready for planting!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 3:28am

Avatar 3:30am

Seriously Julie, Reading 70 degrees was like getting a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. :)
Avatar 3:34am

Our big celebration today was that it got above freezing for the first time in, in, well, in a damn long time.
Avatar 3:37am
Holly in NC:

Oooh, one of my very fave GT songs, thank you Julie!

Sorry y'all are still so cold.

Avatar 3:39am

Hello Fred, thanks for bringing the David Bowie.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 3:40am

not AS cold..but there's still snow and ice everywhere.
Avatar 3:42am

Had to check Bowie's guitarist here, its Reeves Gabrels
Avatar 3:43am
fred von helsing:

y'all stop whining. here's winter in Buffalo: www.facebook.com...
Avatar 3:45am

haha Fred. That is what struck me the most upon moving from the south to NY. It was how folks wear shorts and tee-shirts in freezing weather.
Avatar 3:50am
fred von helsing:

and in finland mostly only murrcans wear shorts. not sure why the locals aren't into them.
Avatar 3:59am

You proded me to find Finland on the map, what a peculiar spot in Earth's geography it is! And that name; from Wiki'"The name Finland appears on three rune-stones"
Avatar 4:11am
fred von helsing:

it really is far north. i'm in hellsinki in the south and it's the same latitude as juneau.

nick cave's appeal to the ladies is something of a mystery
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 4:19am

I love his voice, but I don't find him attractive.
Avatar 4:19am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...he does look like something of a large dark wombat from downunder - but he does have a great voice & is passionate & well-dressed...
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 4:19am

when I saw the documentary I kept thinking...Neil Diamond..
Avatar 4:20am

...no accounting for ker-asthma...

Damn it! I missed Nick by 2 songs! Do over!!!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 4:26am

Avatar 4:28am
fred von helsing:

is part of his appeal the word "cave" ?

Oh, FVH I've been thinking about your winter in Buffalo comparison.... Here is why we are complaining about it here- Buffalo they expect a harsh winter. They get what they need to take care of the snow. My aunt, uncle, and grandparents live/d in Jamestown, NY., so I've experienced those winters. Here they give us the excuse they didn't buy enough salt and not do anything. They have not removed or fixed the situation.

As for Nick Cave appeal, look at when he was younger..... And also keep in mind the appeal of Steve Buscemi.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 4:34am

Now Steve Buscemi I get! I don't know why!
Avatar 4:39am

Physical appeal of Steve Buscemi; that is a head scratcher to me.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 4:41am

Something in Ghost World..I dunno what
Avatar 4:48am
fred von helsing:

Hah I was in Jamestown in December ! My mom was from there too. Not exactly a happening town :) but Southern Tier Brewing was worth a trip
Avatar 4:50am
fred von helsing:

"Stefan emo" heh

It's been a long long long time since I was there last. I went a lot as a kid. My grandparents live in Chattaqua

Nope I won't...... I just saw Labyrinth for the first time the other night

Lake Chatauqua Lutheran Church Camp. Saved many marriages I suspect.
Avatar 5:01am
fred von helsing:

The weirdest strange fact was that Jamestown is in the MISSISSIPPI RIVER'S watershed ! Didja know

Did not know that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03am
Guido (Cologne):

Guten TZAG everyone!
Hi Julie!
Avatar 5:03am
fred von helsing:

The water from the lake [Chatauqua] drains to the south, emptying first into the Chadakoin River in Jamestown, New York before traveling east into the Conewango Creek. The creek flows south, entering the Allegheny River in Warren, Pennsylvania and the Ohio River in Pittsburgh, instead of moving north into the Great Lakes."
Avatar 5:03am
fred von helsing:

"The Chautauqua Lake Watershed has likely been inhabited for 10,000-12,000 years."

! - a song by Modern English besides - *that one*...okay - this alone is worth being up for...
- do carbohydrates keep you hydrated - ? I've always wondered...
Avatar 5:28am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...'Pet Sounds' still stands as a singular achievement - the uniqueness of the sounds, & how they were achieved - combined w/ the emotional affect, which so many experiments don't have...
- The Tea Set - ! - holy crow...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28am
Guido (Cologne):

Aaahhh cool floyd Bootleg Track.
That must be when still called The Pink Floyd Sound with Bob Close as 5th member
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30am

- der - I know - obvious - but still strikes me - four track recording ! - awe...
Avatar 5:38am

As Pet Sounds is either no. 1 or 2 on most important lists of Greatest Albums of all times. From Wiki, ". . . Wilson found Rubber Soul broke the mold with a consistent thread of greatness. Inspired, he rushed to his wife and proclaimed, "Marilyn, I'm gonna make the greatest album! The greatest rock album ever made!""

Woohoo! I finally fell on the ice! On the sidewalk in front of the ice rink parking lot
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 5:39am

Aww man I warned you! I parked in the street
Avatar 5:40am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Message to all the bastards who laugh when people fall on ice: you are bastards.
Avatar 5:41am

I sense an irony in falling *outside* of the skating rink.

I survived the lot. It was the cleared off sidewalk with black ice. I am done with winter!!!!
Avatar 5:41am
fred von helsing:

Who needs an ass airbag when you drink beer ? Not I.
Avatar 5:46am

I bought a pair of those rubber ice cleats that stretch over your shoes a few years back and actually got to use them this winter.

This song isn't on the soundtrack!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49am

There really isn't a soundtrack!
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 5:49am

Yes there is, I have it.
Avatar 5:50am
fred von helsing:

ICE CLEATS is not a bad name for a band, but frankly I prefer the preposterous zing of BUTT WAFFLES.
Avatar 5:51am
fred von helsing:

and of course, butt waffles are what you have after you slip and fall on an icy subway grating.
Avatar 🦇 Swag For Life Member 5:53am

thanks for listening guys! I'll be back Monday at noon with Irene! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53am

Do you know how much that is worth?! It's not out there anymore......
Avatar 5:54am

My butt is so skinny, I'd get stuck if I fell onto a subway grating.
Avatar 5:55am
