"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

George of Troy:

Morning, John. Nice start to the show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:04am
Sem Chumbo:

This is a fine way to start. Good morning, John. I passed the others getting their designer coffees from an itinerant barista parked outside the station in an old VW microbus. They'll be along shortly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09am
George of Troy:

Hi Sem! I must have missed the VW... I'll have to be content with my Sencha this morning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09am
AndrewC.:

Goddamn fancy coffee is getting too expensive. Luckily I can get eternal drones to catapult me towards the infinite for free on WFMU.
Avatar 6:14am
John Allen:

fancy coffee should never be introduced before 7 am
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15am
Sem Chumbo:

Hi, GOT. Isn't Sencha some kind of Cold War two stroke one passenger car made from Albanian parts in Odessa? And Andrew C, I needs me an eternal drone to keep my shadow company. Think ebay has?
Avatar 6:19am
John Allen:

I'm confused, are you talking coffee or vehicles? sanka is a decaffeinated racist coffee
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:19am
George of Troy:

Sem, if it is, I need one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21am
Sem Chumbo:

JA:Monkey poo coffee before 7 AM in the defense of liberty is no vice. Some might call it elitist; to me, it is simply simian.
Avatar 6:25am
bibi:

hi all. give it to me, lubomyr.

if you are saying that the framers of the us constitution got it wrong, i side with freedom and this 20 ounce foam cup i am nursing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30am
fred:

Good morning JA, guten TZAG listeners. Free coffee at work for me thanks to a lisp symposium.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32am
AndrewC.:

Shouldn't you be listening to the presentation, Fred?
Avatar 6:34am
bibi:

only lisps are attending lisp symposium. so obvious.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34am
Sem Chumbo:

Ya gotta love sibilance to appreciate a lisp presentation. Or fancy Spanish.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35am
fred:

@AndrewC: I've not invited, I'm not a researcher, just tech support. But for once we peons got something more than an email telling us to stay away from the free food
Avatar 6:39am
bibi:

john, if it's starclicking you are looking for, you'll get some.
Avatar 6:40am
John Allen:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:41am
fred:

The symposium is over, we get the leftovers. It did happen though: www.european-lisp-symposium.org
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:42am
AndrewC.:

Hopefully all those researchers are too health conscious and left you guys the good stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:44am
AndrewC.:

Still, it must be pretty cool working at IRCAM, even if there is no symposium going on.
  6:45am
That Bipolar Guy:

Good morning Mr Allen
Avatar 6:45am
bibi:

wow, great graphic design for the symposium website. 1996 in da house.
i like it when very pragmatic topics are turned into totally abstract lectures.
  6:45am
That Bipolar Guy:

Omg I was up all night battling bed bugs :-(
  6:46am
marmalade kitty:

Hola!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:47am
fred:

@AndrewC: I'm not involved with the music side of it at all, but the location is extremely convenient
@bibi: a pragmatic topic? where?
Avatar 6:50am
John Allen:

bipo guy, break your lease and put all of your books and records into boxes, seal them, and stick them in storage for 6 months. this worked for me, and it changed my life
  6:55am
That Bipolar Guy:

Mr Allen
what lease? I haven't paid the rent on my personal hellhole since January
  6:57am
That Bipolar Guy:

It's a new bed that I need but I don't have $1000 dollars. Would anyone like to donate $1000 so I could by a twin bed with back support. I have arthritis in my lower back
  6:59am
That Bipolar Guy:

Bed bugs man.... they are persistent little (expletive)

@Michele - Hi, are you having breakfast in food bed today?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:41am

This is marvelously sad. Beautifully evocative. Thanks, JA.

@Michele - I visualize a little Roomba-like coffee robot that delivers the coffee into the foodbed room. Like a quaint little coffee butler. Also, the morning paper.
