"I listened yesterday. It's no reflection on you but I could'nt see where you were going or what you were going for. This early seventies thing did'nt get noticed the first time and you talk about friends of like Dealney and Bonnie who had records out like we're supposed to remember who they are. Then you play this long winded free jazz stuff that really grates on my nerves. And that noise without a beat and sounds like someones being pinched. Then you play a reggae song, I think you called it Dub, to what, be cool? You seem to really fetishize the whole folk thing too which is obnoxious to us who don't even care. I liked it when you played that punk song though. I like Joe Belock a lot." (Visit homepage.)

This Sun Ra music was pretty good

That BiPolar Guy:

I've only heard the name sun ra here and there but never looked into his music. That song "space probe" sounds "far out man"

hi all. argh late today.
was that someslimguauze thing linked to muslimgauze ?
seems obvious but who knows.
Avatar 8:04am
Looms:

@bibi: I don't think so, this Indian Soundscapes project was recorded between 2001 & 2003 but Bryn Jones (Muslimgauze) died in 1999.

Cheri Pi:

G'Morning to all. Nice way to ease into this blasted Wednesday.

I herd that Neil was on late-night TV recently. They had the old recording booth. I didn't catch the show, though.

Hey, great show! But this is not Myriam Gendron at all!
Avatar 6:44pm
John Allen:

are you listening around that timestamp?
  8:48pm
bernardcamus:

Yes. What is playing just before Neil Young? Great stuff (but no Gendron I assure you).
  9:47pm
John Allen:

well, you seem to know her well enough to be certain. Maybe Feeding Tube duped us?
  9:59pm
bernardcamus:

Feeding Tube tricksters? I know her music, she sings Dorothy Parker. But really what is playing there?
  10:05pm
John Allen:

yknow, been seeing that record on "Now Playing" a couple times and was really looking forward to hearing/playing it, and that's what I did this morning. But it was a burned CD that FT sent the station, not the LP...maybe Ted sent us the wrong disc? Thanks for the tip/will investigate.
  10:39pm
bernardcamus:

I actually first heard it on wfmu and got it from the digital label -- Mama bird. Somebody at the station has the right record!
