Avatar 12:26pm thunderish' Jay:

Avatar 12:27pm bobdoesthings:

was the garage hangover vendor at the record fair the same guys as the blog?
  12:30pm Marc:

I had a great time Saturday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm Greg from Bloomfield:

My brother is working on 100 two-inch collages made out of inner sleeves from old records. We had a lot of fun digging through the cheap bins for collage fodder.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm dale:

who did an interview with stardust a few years back - rex?
Avatar 12:38pm Joe B:

hey everyone, thanks for checking in!

Bob, yes i am pretty sure it is the same guy!
  12:38pm John L.:

As soon as "Paralyzed" started, a customer looked at me like I was insane. It was a good feeling.
Avatar 12:39pm Joe B:

Hi dale, yes I think so! or maybe michael shelley? i am not sure
Avatar 12:39pm bobdoesthings:

ahh.. cool.. man next record fair I'm gonna prepare better.
Avatar 12:39pm thunderish' Jay:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm Stevel:

Equally, I would love to see and avoid seeing TLSC.
Avatar 12:40pm Joe B:

sorry Frank. don't feel that strongly either way, just trying to be topical!
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 12:41pm ChrisB.:

Good to see you at the fair, Joe. Thanks for the Mondo Beat Ital. comp. It's really good!
  12:41pm Hackensack Slim:

Hey Joe,
Good seein' ya Saturday at the Fair. How'd you do Sunday? Hope you sold a lot. Haven't forgot that I owe you a few beers. Fine show as usual.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42pm Stevel:

So, is this the not-so-intelligible-lyrics set? If so, GENIUS!!
Avatar 12:42pm bobdoesthings:

are there any official lyrics to louie louie? Or is the rule to just get hammered and scream?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42pm efd:

Thumbs up to Jack Eely!
Avatar 12:44pm Joe B:

ha great call Cheryl on the wildwood diner!
Avatar 👻 12:44pm David Shortell:

Avatar 12:44pm Joe B:

hey Chris glad you dug it! glad I had an extra!
  12:47pm Frank Above:

No need to apologize Joe. It's your show!
Avatar 12:48pm jljl:

Did anyone see the Dave Clark 5 special on PBS? Who knew Whoopie Goldberg loved the band so much. Def. didn't need to be 2 hrs long tho.
Avatar 12:49pm Finbar:

This Miriam track is fantastic!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm Stevel:

Great cover of my (seriously) favorite Ramones song. Actually did a report on that song way back in college. Got to play it during class and everything. What a pushover class!
Avatar 1:09pm PKNY:

Glad to see hear some of the new Electric Mess! Great band, and great people!
Avatar 1:09pm thunderish' Jay:

great organic formula.. integral cookies and water melon, like your choices Joe
Avatar 1:16pm Joe B:

Thanks Jay! agree PKNY! very cool Stevel!

I agree Finbar!

jl - I missed it, heard it was good
Avatar 1:17pm Joe B:

yes efd, worth the 4 bucks for sure!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm Guido from Cologne:

Miriam "Nobody's Baby" already out of stock @ Norton
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21pm Mike East:

I had no idea that was Chuck Prophet til I looked at the playlist, but listening to it made me think about Chuck Prophet and how I have to grab one of his records...
Avatar 1:23pm Finbar:

Yeah, that Prophet song was a winner, as is the whole show thus far. Really enjoying it, Joe.
Avatar 1:25pm Finbar:

@Guido from Cologne: Wow, you're well informed. Good to know that info on Miriam's record, it must be real good.
Avatar 1:26pm Joe B:

he's been on a roll for the last 2 or 3 for sure! (chuck prophet that is)
Avatar 1:27pm Joe B:

yes Mike great seeing you at the fair!
Avatar 1:27pm Finbar:

Always loved Green On Red.
Avatar 1:28pm Joe B:

wow, Miriam a big seller! maybe they had to see how many they sold at the record fair.
  1:33pm John L.:

Ted Leo sounds a little like Gerry Rafferty on that Both tune. Been listening to that album for a couple of months, but it just hit me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm common:

diggin thee oh sees tune
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm Stevel:

The Hussy!

Looking forward to seeing them with the Blind Shake in Madison, WI in about two weeks.
Avatar 1:43pm KP:

After a two-hour show, there is still not one minute out there of the Dave Clark Five actually playing live.
Avatar 1:45pm KP:

Only other band i can think of like that is Paul Revere and the Raiders. Interesting both bands are led by a guy who is not the lead singer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm Guido from Cologne:

I go for AJ Davila!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:51pm Guido from Cologne:

White Fence sound more interesting on record than live. ... or maybe i got an exhausted band last year ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm efd:

Sorry for giving that guy your cell number.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm Dominick:

Damn! I should have grabbed a copy of Nobody's Baby Saturday.
Avatar 2:09pm jljl:

KP, I too wondered about the lack of playing live. How did all those 60's shows work anyway? It doesn't really look like lip synching.
This Warm Soda song rocks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Dominick:

KP - As much as I love DC5, that show became tedious after 1/2 hour. re: PR & The Raiders, several friends saw them perform live in 1966 & agree they kicked ass.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm nickybones:

Man, that Girls With Guitars series is going to force me to buy CDs again. Dangit.
Avatar 2:11pm Mailman Tom:

Two of the things I liked about the Record Fair being held at the Armory instead of the Metropolitan Pavilion was the extra space between the aisles and the better lighting!
Avatar 2:11pm Finbar:

There are great band names left, you just have to find the right word combos and presto...Warm Soda...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm efd:

This Ning song is flat out insane.
  2:15pm Lulu:

this ROCKS! Ning for the Win(g)
Avatar 2:16pm Joe B:

efd surprised not to see your initials on this comp!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Mike East:

@Mailman Tom - the extra space was so awesome. especially for those of us with strollers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm efd:

They will be! I keep pulling it and then not getting to it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:19pm Guido from Cologne:

Aj Davila went straight to the shoping cart.
Will be off board but listening.
LOVE THE SHOW!
CU!
Avatar 2:20pm Joe B:

thanks Guido! hope you dig the album! definitely catch him live!
Avatar 2:23pm KP:

I saw the great Mike Smith in concert before his life took a tragic turn and can assure he was not the problem with the DC5. Have also twice seen Mark Lindsay and he is still Stepping Out, let me tell ya. Heard a new solo song by him here during the Record Fair.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm Stevel:

Way Y Los Arrrghs!!!

Nuff said.
Avatar 2:25pm d¢ pät:

WAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 2:26pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Remember "Stars On 45" from the 80s? Jonesey & X-Ray played them on Sunday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm Dominick:

Yep, no denying Mike Smith's talent. I think it boils down to Mr. Clark being a control freak. Saw Mark Lindsay several times, last being this past Halloween at Bowery Electric. Totally on his game!
Avatar 2:28pm d¢ pät:

BBBBIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Avatar 2:31pm d¢ pät:

Pop Rivets were great too...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm common:

5 head look! good 'un, joe!
Avatar 2:47pm Cheri Pi:

what d¢ pät said.
Avatar 2:48pm jljl:

Mike Smith committed suicide? I never heard that.
I saw Paul Revere and the Raiders at the Topsfield Fair about 8 years ago. The music sounded good, when he wasn't practicing his stand up routine. Or at least that's what it sounded like. Lots of yapping and joking.
Avatar 2:50pm d¢ pät:

No, he died of pneumonia complications from a fall and operations to fix his spinal column.
Avatar 2:50pm Joe B:

i dont think he committed suicide
  2:52pm Lulu:

Ha! I thought this sounded like the Woods <3
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm Stevel:

Gap Dream!! Also on the must-see list.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:56pm efd:

jljl I got so sick one time at the Topsfield Fair when I was a little kid. I ddn't know they still had it!
  2:59pm Sissophonic Cheryl:

Great show, Joe!
