Hellow Therese ,,, nice opener indeed !!
Avatar 12:03am BadGuyZero:

Chris Hansen's favorite Cheap Trick song!
Avatar 12:04am KP:

Hey, Therese!
  12:04am P-90:

Good Evening T!
What a way to kick off!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05am pacific standard simon:

Interesting Father's Day choice.
Avatar 12:09am Jeff In Puna Hawaii:

CAN YES! Happy Father's Day, Therese! Happy Father's day to all!
Avatar 12:09am Droll:

Yesterday we (listener/commenters) struggled to come up with a single "Happy" song about dad. Today seems like more of the same. Is there really not a single song about a decent dad?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:09am Therese:

Hi all! Thanks for stopping by!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10am pacific standard simon:

My heart leaps up when I behold
A rainbow in the sky:
So was it when my life began;
So is it now I am a man;
So be it when I shall grow old,
Or let me die!
The Child is father of the Man;
I could wish my days to be
Bound each to each by natural piety.

-- William Wordsworth

anyone else torturing their cats with laser pointers?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12am pacific standard simon:

@Droll - I didn't have any trouble thinking of a positive "father song" -- it just didn't reflect my own experience.
  12:16am P-90:

pss: Thanks for classing up the joint w/Wordsworth. That one's a tad familiar, but it's a classic-- --were you the one who mentioned the Eddie Fisher tune last night?
Avatar 12:16am bobdoesthings:

pod f tompkast!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17am pacific standard simon:

Nope, the Neil Young.
Avatar 12:19am bobdoesthings:

paul is so great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21am pacific standard simon:

Just be thankful, when torturing your cat with a laser pointer, that it has not been deputized by the police department: www.avweb.com...
Avatar 12:23am Jeff In Puna Hawaii:

  12:23am P-90:

Laser pointer: Absolute best cat torture ever. Bar none.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24am pacific standard simon:

Hey, how about The Mothers of Invention's "Bow Tie Daddy"?
Avatar 12:25am Jeff In Puna Hawaii:

Therese, this is just about perfect. Thank you. Davey Jones doing Mr. Nilsson!
  12:26am P-90:

"Head" actually gets a lot of airplay on WFMU. Not complaining, just noting that lots of DJ's find occasions to play tracks from it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27am pacific standard simon:

I still think "I Am A Child" is the best, but don't listen to me, OH NO.

Avatar 12:27am bobdoesthings:

Yeah.. I always feel guilty when I pull out the laser pointer. It's clearly not cool to do to cats
Avatar 12:27am BadGuyZero:

Adrian Belew's "Oh Daddy"
  12:30am Carmichael:

Thats because Head is one of the best albums ever. There, I said it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30am pacific standard simon:

Papa was a rodeo stone (?)
Where ever he threw his lariat was home.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31am fleep:

One cat saw the laser dot and hid under the bed. The other cat chased the dot for about ten seconds, figured out it was a trick, and now totally ignores it.
  12:31am coalhard:

When I do in HOMER voice LAZZZZZZZZZZZZER BEAMMMMS my cats start looking all over
  12:31am P-90:

@ bob: you kidding? running the cat back and forth by keeping the "dot" just out of its reach is the best exercise you can give your cat--I've recommended it to friends whose cats start to get fat after being spayed, it really keeps them trim
Avatar 12:32am bobdoesthings:

@P-90 .. Nahh .. they get real stressed about not being able to catch it
  12:33am Carmichael:

@Droll: Clarence Carter's Patches. Sappiest song of the 60s.
Avatar 12:33am bobdoesthings:

they want to catch it and satisfy their savage instincts
  12:34am P-90:

@ coalhard: I used to have one one with a little key chain attached, the moment that chain made even the softest "clink", the cat would spring up, even from a dead sleep, and start hunting
Avatar 12:34am BadGuyZero:

Red Sovine's "Giddy Up Go"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34am pacific standard simon:

GROW UP! You should be performing ALTERNATIVE MEDICAL TREATMENTS with those laser pointers! Put a crystal on that hemorrhoid and point the laser for big $$$.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34am fleep:

End the session with a real physical toy, like a felt mouse, give the cat something to pounce on.
  12:35am coalhard:

@p=90 exactly !!
  12:36am P-90:

Avatar 12:36am bobdoesthings:

alright. I am a dead duck floating in a sea of dead ducks.. time to sleep and be a responsible bob see ya..
Avatar 12:36am Droll:

BGZ, I looooooooove AB, but yesterday I specifically called that one out as being "self-deprecating".

I don't think any self-respecting outdoor cat would ever chase a dot of light. Nothing to puke up afterwards.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37am pacific standard simon:

Therese the DJ is using a sonic laser pointer on you, bobdoesthings.
  12:38am Carmichael:

I hold Bobbie Gentry responsible for everything that happened up on Choctaw Ridge.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39am Therese:

Nothing ever comes to no good up on Choctaw Ridge.
  12:42am coalhard:

Hey I wonder if bigfoot would respond to a navel laser oh about 3000 kilowats
  12:44am coalhard:

Does the smell of burned hair count as evidence?
Avatar 12:45am BadGuyZero:

Nothing also ever comes to no good up at the Choctaw Casino [a.k.a. Southeastern Oklahoma Cultural Center].
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47am pacific standard simon:

I'm not sure there was a CCR in '73.
Avatar 12:54am BadGuyZero:

The Vampires sound completely opposite from what I expected them to sound like.
Avatar 12:57am Droll:

bgz, Expected Bela Lugosi?
Avatar 1:03am BadGuyZero:

@Droll: Something along those lines. Alas, no children of the night.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20am pacific standard simon:
