Kurt, really thoughtful of you usually to post soundcloud links to tracks from there. Most DJ's don't do that.
Avatar 4:11pm

i figure if the artist is putting something up there, they want people to know, yeah?

Exactly, and it's not for lack of a field to do so in most cases.

Avatar 4:25pm

grammatical mistakes are allowed in punk titles, no, honey?
Avatar 4:25pm

Legend has it they were all tripping balls during Zen Arcade. It's a wonder the titles were in something resembling English.

Indeed so.

i've heard meat puppets were during the 'up on the sun' sessions as well - and didn't know they played everything at like a quarter of the speed they intended!

Ha, Kurt, no wonder why I liked those songs so much better in concert! ONly really liked their first 2 albums, but tried to catch them live as much as Icould, they were always great.

Meat Puppets, that is. Husker Du were like watching paint dry. Although I saw some tape of them in the early 80s, and Greg Norton! was the one who was cracking the jokes and had the crowd in the palm of his hand.

Because I've gotta run soon (Forecastle's being b'cast locally), I'm going to interject a non sequitur that's been "reOCcurring" to me whenever it pops up on my iTunes as it did earlier today: Is there a pop song violin phrase any lovelier than around the 2-minute mark in Cope's "Wandered Lonely As a Cloud"?

well, actually the mrs. dc pat and I were both veggies before we had kids. 2 kids: The girl has salmon occasionally which is fine by me but mr. dc pat jr. won't touch meat for some reason. I think they should get as much nutrients as possible. When the grow up, then they can become puritans...
