Avatar 12:13am KP:

Hi Therese. Also, my cat says hello, literally.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:15am Matt from Springfield:

@KP: Say hello to your cat, literally, on our behalf.
@BGZ: So close to the beginning--if you caught a bit of the first song, then you know the overall feel of the episode fine!
  12:16am ?:

kp, what's your cats name?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18am Matt from Springfield:

Lot of songwriters singing their own songs in this set...
  12:18am P-90:

Hi Therese and all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18am Matt from Springfield:

G'n Abend, P-neunzig!
  12:19am rw:

Good evening Therese! I left more than my share of comments during Dave's show so will cool it now but wanted you to know we're listening and loving it here!
Avatar 12:20am BadGuyZero:

@Matt: I'm VERY familiar with "Phantom Of The Paradise." :D
  12:20am KP:

?, Cleo, and she says hello
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21am Andrew Waterloo:

I feel a sudden urge to do a shot of tequila and shout IT'S A SWEATER!
  12:21am KP:

More than one Randy Newman song makes me nervous
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21am Matt from Springfield:

Okay, interesting...
  12:22am KP:

Matt, Cleo says hello
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22am Matt from Springfield:

@BGZ: Nice! :)

Hi Cleo!
  12:23am P-90:

This is Sir Paul's love letter to Paul Simon
  12:23am KP:

Finally caught up to that Three Amigos movie and it was surprisingly hysterical, yet poignant
  12:24am ?:

cleo is a cute name,kp
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24am Matt from Springfield:

@P-90: While at that same time Paul Simon was writing love letters to Jimmy Cliff, "Mother and Child Reunion". So goes admiration...
  12:24am Nadine:

Hello Therese and frends! Fun show so far! Can't comment a lot right now, just hay!
  12:25am KP:

Yes, ?. It suits
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25am Matt from Springfield:

Hay-HAY-hay, Nadine!
  12:27am KP:

Phantom of the Paradise? I'm familiar with all Jessica Harper movies
Avatar 12:27am BadGuyZero:

Tuesday is a BIG record day. The New Pornographers and Ty Segall!
  12:28am ?:

Nice 80s feel to this! Great * record!
Avatar 12:30am BadGuyZero:

Give my best to the mysterians.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30am Matt from Springfield:

Boz Scaggs!! I have to Star this, since I grew up with the Boz! :)
  12:30am KP:

  12:32am ?:

kp, say g'nite to cleo.
  12:33am KP:

The Boz Scaggs concert I attended was maybe the best I ever saw, entirely because the opening act was the MC5.
  12:34am KP:

Matt, in Wisconsin?
Avatar 12:36am BadGuyZero:

Boz Scaggs and Steve Miller both went to St. Marks School Of Texas here in Dallas.
  12:36am KP:

Ok, ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37am Matt from Springfield:

WHAT?! C'mon Therese, it's Silk Degrees! Boz Scaggs! 19-76!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38am Matt from Springfield:

@P90: Naw, he was one of my parents' hallmark musicians, always listened to his stuff (like Silk Degrees!) :)
Avatar 12:39am BadGuyZero:

Randy Newman is the voice of the singing bush in "The Three Amigos."
  12:39am Steve-O:

Hi Therese! How are you? (P.S., I just retweeted one of your Tweets!) =)
  12:40am Maxx Tuneage:

WhOoOOoOOOOoAAaAaa did somebody say BOZ SCAGGS?!
  12:40am Steve-O:

@BGZ: I remember that he also did the theme song for Toy Story.....

You've a got a friend in me.....you've got a friend in me.....=)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41am Matt from Springfield:

Though of course Bonkersosity was what "Phantom of the Paradise" was going for.
Avatar 12:41am BadGuyZero:

They finally released "Phantom of the Paradise" on blu ray in North America a couple of weeks ago.
Avatar 12:42am BadGuyZero:

Jessica Harper was also in "Suspiria."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43am Matt from Springfield:

Amen, always stuff to be learned on the comments board! :D
  12:46am KP:

And two Woody Allen movies, it says here
  12:47am KP:

Suspira was a biggie
  12:49am KP:

I was looking for this Ty last week
  12:50am Maxx Tuneage:

Wait. I just realized you weren't talking about Boz Scaggs in reference to Boz SKAggs. Never miiiind the bullocks, here's Ty Segall! Gabba gabba hey hey hey everybody skank!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54am Matt from Springfield:

Sir Douglas Sahm, always good party rock.
  12:56am KP:

Useless trivia: Future Byrds bassist John York (Easy Rider era) was an original member of the Sir Douglas Quintet and is on cover of their first album.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:58am Matt from Springfield:

Whoa! Is this Bobby Darin in his social justice/folky phase?! This one's pretty good!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59am Matt from Springfield:

@KP: McGuinn was the only constant one, so many other musicians have passed through the Byrds.
  1:01am KP:

Ok a Byrds stretch from Bobby Darin. When he went folkie, he added Jim McGuinn as his accompanist/arranger. That was the future Roger's last gig before going (inventing) folk/rock
  1:01am Maxx Tuneage:

Trivial Pursuedesuit: Bobby Darin's love for the ol' chess board was only rivaled by his love of the Bobby Skarin Rude Boy Skatet.
  1:03am KP:

Yes Matt. The latter-day country Byrds have many fans, including meself and just about everybody I know
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05am Matt from Springfield:

Knew it! "Sir Robert Darin Sings the Standards!", if he had lived to the present day...
  1:06am KP:

Artwoods sound fantastic
  1:08am P-90:

I had fogotten that tidbit about Darin hiring McGuinn. Ahh, those were the days...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08am Matt from Springfield:

"Rock and Roll does not seem like it would die. It has proved remarkably resilient and creative over time thus far"...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10am Matt from Springfield:

Dreampop with a Touch o' Twang! Light to Dark to Chaos--sweet! Lookin' forward to that! :)
Avatar 1:11am BadGuyZero:

Mogwai released an album a couple of years ago called "Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13am Matt from Springfield:

That's the kind of self-aware punk/metal meta-fan-reference we like, BGZ.
  1:16am KP:

Mogwai's next release will apparently be called Come On Die Young.
I sense a theme.
Avatar 1:16am BadGuyZero:

Those Mogwai guys display their sharp wit in their song titles.
Avatar 1:18am BadGuyZero:

They re-released a deluxe version of "Come On Die Young" for its fifteenth anniversary. "Rave Tapes" is Mogwai's most recent album.
  1:18am KP:

They're one of the many bands that when I bring home the cd I realize I have it, snd of course suspected that
  1:23am KP:

White Hills/Gnod as first heard here is the best thing I bought since moving to NYC. Great driving music
Avatar 1:30am BadGuyZero:

I'm giving up hope that the 4-LP version of "Come On Die Young" is going to get released in the U.S. The shipping cost alone from overseas is in the $35-$50 range; the box set costs around $100. Why do I have to be a completist nerd?
  1:34am P-90:

@BGZ: because what's more fun than being a completist nerd?
  1:38am KP:

Do it before you have somebody checking on everything that comes into the house.
  1:40am KP:

Allah-las awesome on 3 chord Monte
Avatar 1:44am BadGuyZero:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45am Matt from Springfield:

EVERY. SIMPSONS. EVER. I myself have wasted much of my weekend doing just that!!

And YES! they show the GD Hanes kitten T-shirt commercial too much! BUT--I think they're showing the pre-syndication 23 MIN episodes! So great, they have those little clips I missed over years of 1 minute syndication edits!
Avatar 1:45am BadGuyZero:

Is that the one where Homer eats the ghost pepper?
Avatar 1:47am BadGuyZero:

@Matt: Yes, the episodes are uncut. They will air the cut-for-syndication versions afterwards. They said they will air the uncut episodes on special occasions.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47am Matt from Springfield:

And more geography teaching in the U.S.!! I'm a geographer, so don't make me open your brains and cram geography into it!!! ...The More You Know!

Early this afternoon I reached the point where I started to remember the original airings of the episodes and the little bits I haven't seen since original broadcast.
Avatar 1:48am BadGuyZero:

Every time I see a photo of that new Doctor Who I think it's David Cronenberg.
  1:49am KP:

Therese, did you record the Mtv VMAs? Quite moving
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49am Matt from Springfield:

@BGZ: Heeeheeeheeeheee, sweet! :)

If there was an every-[soap opera]-ever marathon, I think they should run every Days Of Our Lives, because of the awful continuity story problems over the years. Characters killed off, brought back and recycled, that show is a train wreck.
Avatar 1:50am BadGuyZero:

The DVDs of the early Simpsons seasons are $15-$20 per season on Amazon.
  1:54am KP:

Bagging it. See yas
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57am Matt from Springfield:

Lawrence & the Comfortable Society -- I like this, reminds me of the Psychedelic Furs.

See ya KP! I'm about to bag it soon, myself.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01am Matt from Springfield:

Morrissey and Marr and the Smiths -- keeping it 80s, keeping it C86/indie pop, keeping it "heartache and pain"!
  2:07am P-90:

Adios KP
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:08am Matt from Springfield:

Song for the Future Generation!! One of my fave B-52s! :)
Seems to poke fun at the then-nascent video dating scene!
  2:24am coalhard:

Today is National Kiss and Makeup day on list of strange holidays-----but I'm having trouble putting on make up my first try the lipstick burned my eye
  2:28am coalhard:

free lipstick if you kiss my eye and make it better !
Avatar 2:32am BadGuyZero:

KISS In Makeup Day?
  2:37am coalhard:

Robots? take everything litteraly
  2:40am coalhard:

WD-40 on sale at walmart---that will keep him busy
  2:42am coalhard:

also duct tape half off ---fun to play with
  2:48am P-90:

@ Therese: Great show tonight, it's much appreciated. I still miss your banter with amEdeo when this time of the morning rolls around.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50am Therese:

Thank you, P-90. I miss that guy too.
Avatar 2:54am BadGuyZero:

I was scanning the cover of Hank IV's "Depravity's Rainbow" single last night. I miss you and Mike hanging out on-air. Those shows often made me anxious as Mike would plumb the darker corners of the human psyche much to your unease.
Avatar 2:57am BadGuyZero:

Maybe Amanda X are mutants.
  2:59am coalhard:

To BGZ that human like appendage they stuck on front of you has been recalled due to stalling in heavy traffic no worries they put a spare in little finger---kidding thanks man!
  2:59am Steve-O:

Bye Therese.....see ya 'round. =)
  2:59am P-90:

Funny thing, covers of P. Furs songs always turn out great.
Avatar 3:01am BadGuyZero:

Have a great week, Therese! I hope you treat us to another labor-themed set next week.
