Every time I've been asked at work "do you work here" I keep forgetting to quote the Art School Girls of Doom. "Yeah I'm working it. FIERCELY"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21am sugarwolf:

oh I have been listening to Pulp a lot lately....
  12:21am Steve-O:

Hi there, Therese! I hope you enjoyed the last day of the (calendar) summer.....and I hope you're having a good Labor Day so far. =)
  12:23am r i s k y:

Glenn Jones and Xray played Sonic Youth's Carpenters cover of 'Loving you' AND they played the William Shatner cover of this Pulp track.

Go Therese, the radiowave fader invader!
  12:25am P-90:

Welcome to Labor day, Therese and everybody!
The Pulp original is still even better than the Bill Shatner/Ben Folds version...
Swag For Life Member 12:28am Lonely Planet Boy:

I'm loving listening live since I have Monday off. It's a rare treat.
  12:28am rw:

It's still August here. I'm holding on as long as possible.
Hello e'rybody!
  12:28am ScottC:

@Risky That's what I call a long day ( I've been along for the ride too ) When they say "Labor day Week-End" they really mean "Labor Day Week- End"...
  12:30am rw:

Always wondered what would happen if I didn't work. Maceo!!!

@ScottC word that up the flagpole.

  12:40am JakeGould:

Amanda makes up words herself right? I recall her doing that to that Tom T. Hall “I like ducks, I hate dreams.” song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40am Ken From Hyde Park:

Let's show them all and not go into work on Tuesday, either. Nyah!
  12:41am ScottC:

I know the Bay Area has nothing on NY but that "Common People" song illustrates exactly what is going on in San Francisco right now - thanks Google! a bigger collection of asswipes I have never seen...

Ken FHP what if I'm self employed?
  12:42am Steve-O:

Yeah, I've heard about Market Basket, and I agree with ya, Therese! If they had any here in Texas, I would definitely shop there. Kudos to Mr. Demoulas, and all the workers who took a stand for labor! =)
  12:42am Steve-O:

Hey! I remember this song from one of Mary Wing's marathon shows from 2012....that was awesome. =)
  12:43am JakeGould:

ScottC, that junk is happening in Brooklyn as well. I moved from “yuppie” Brooklyn to “working class” Brooklyn & it’s like another planet.
12:44am Eric the Half a Bee:

All those years I suspected the Simply Red version wasn't the original, and finally tracking this down. Gets down and funks it up!
Avatar 12:45am Mary Wing:

Wow, good memory, Steve-O! I love this song!
  12:49am ScottC:

@JakeGould I tried to find shelter in the East Bay and they followed me...like a mold. The funny thing is they are so smug and I think to myself "just wait until they send your irrelevant little time-slot-filling job to Mumbai and see how you survive. Me? downsized 7years ago - self-employed now I'm doing OK living by my wits!
  12:50am JakeGould:

I feel fairly safe now in Bay Ridge. I have a feeling I might be the first of many gentrifiers in the future. But that is a long way off. The 2-3 block area around my place is Hookah bar & laundromat city. And that is not changing any time soon. Some comfort in that.
Swag For Life Member 12:53am Lonely Planet Boy:

Gwen's percussion soundin' great.
  12:53am P-90:

I hear that hookah bar/laundromats are the next big thing
  12:56am rw:

Avatar 2:00am BadGuyZero))):

Yes! The Soup Dragons when they were good!
Avatar 2:01am Hoboken Jack:

thanks Bad Guy! I saw them do a short set at NYC Popfest, when? Last year? Two years ago?
  2:11am JakeGould:

The Soup Dragons are very 1980s-1990s.
  2:14am JakeGould:

Yesterday was so hot my local dumpy laundromat turned off the lights to handle the AC.
  2:15am rw:

I need to purchase a copy of that Lewis LP for my friend Ernest he would like.
Avatar 2:16am BadGuyZero))):

The first Soup Dragons thing I heard was a compilation of their singles called "Hang Ten" that Sire released in the U.S. around 1987/88. Those songs are so good. They reminded me of The Buzzcocks so I was hooked right away.
  2:17am JakeGould:

I remember their cover of “I’m Free” and a press even I went to at the Hard Rock Cafe on 57th with them and “James.”
  2:23am JakeGould:

Therese, I have vivid memories of driving down the BQE with friends heading to South Street Seaport, gal wants to play “Jesus Jones” and I am just saying, “Get this off!” and her saying, “Why do you hate them? They just want to have fun!” Yup. We have our shame. Also, “Many people are unfamiliar with the interrobang, and would be puzzled when first seeing it…” DUH!
Avatar 2:33am Hoboken Jack:

TO me, more impressive than Therese's correct use of "interrobang" was the callback to earlier in the back-announcing with "There's punctuation in the title." I LOL'd, though maybe I'm just loopy at this hour.
