OMG this song. All week I've been with this song. I imagine it as the opening for a saturday morning 70's cartoon about a band solving mysteries.
  12:12am Steve-O:

Hi Therese! How are you doing tonight? =)
Avatar 12:13am BadGuyZero))):

In case anyone missed seeing The New Pornographers play "Brill Bruisers" on David Letterman's show last Wednesday...

@Andrew F.: Welcome aboard our train of awesome, man. You are not alone. =)
  12:26am jonathan valdez:

this is my favorite television song. i think it's the best one on "marquee moon" . love the arpeggios and that guitar solo!
12:26am Bob in DC and/or Virginia (but now Pennsylvania):

Hey there, Therese! Great show so far, including that song from that C86 collection.
Avatar 12:27am KP:

It is good Television

Greetings and stuff.
  12:40am Steve-O:

Haven't listened to Chris T. in a while, but his commentary was fascinating, to say the least. =)
  12:41am nate:

I think Lester Bangs used that word to describe Bob Seger
  12:41am P-90:

Well, this has a plangent quality already.
Avatar 12:41am BadGuyZero))):

Plangent tangent.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42am Therese:

Total plangent tangent, BGZ.
Avatar 12:43am BadGuyZero))):

"Plangent Tangent" sounds like a potential Mogwai song title. Or the name of a Kevin Shields secret project.
Avatar 12:43am egal:

  12:46am P-90:

I'm on Planet Plangent.
Avatar 12:47am BadGuyZero))):

My favorite Schoolhouse Rock short was the one about Interplanet Plangent.

Chocolate chips qualifies as food if you mix them with some nuts and wash them down with iced tea, right?

I like Bob B, but he's on too early for civilized West Coast listening.

Hello all!
  1:18am P-90:

  1:20am Andrew Fetter:

Ooh, I cannot wait for that Night People episode.
Avatar 1:26am BadGuyZero))):

A few years ago I attended a MST3K retrospective at a film festival. They live-riffed on Roger Corman's "The Wasp Woman." Just before the retrospective started I crossed paths with Meat Loaf and told him I love the movie "Black Dog." He looked at me like I had said the most offensive thing ever to him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27am fleep:

TV's Frank @FrankConniff on Twitter, in the meantime.
  1:28am Andrew Fetter:

That Coves song was excellent.
  1:30am rw:

Yellow Dogs, Black Dog. Go Dog Go.
  1:32am P-90:

Poor Meat Loaf. So conflicted about his work. But we all know how sensitive these artistic types can be.
  1:37am P-90:

I haven't seen "Black Dog" myself, but I see it gets a full 11% on the Rotten Tomatoes site.
  1:41am Andrew Fetter:

I don't know why, but a rating that low makes me interested to see it.
Avatar 1:42am BadGuyZero))):

"Black Dog" was always on TNT about ten years ago. It's basically "Smokey & The Bandit" played straight and with a lot more things going *BOOM!* There's far worse ways to spend a couple of hours. It's well-suited for having on as background noise while you're working or doing some other task more important than watching a movie.
  1:45am P-90:

@ Andrew; Right?
@ BGZ : I'm sure it's a good TNT-type movie. With Patrick Swayze and Mr. Loaf it's gotta be fun.
  1:47am Andrew Fetter:

You had me at "a lot more things go *BOOM!*" BadGuyZero
  1:49am P-90:

Exactly! Loaf + Swayze + *BOOM*!
  1:50am rw:

There was a review on NPR late last week about a movie called The Identical (or something like that). Basically they said is so bad they recommended everybody drop what they're doing and head to the theater immediately.
Avatar 1:54am BadGuyZero))):

I've seen lots of TV ads for "The Identical." I could not begin to tell you what it's about. I think it's about a guy who looks like Elvis and the shenanigans that ensue due to people mistaking him for Elvis.
Avatar 1:56am BadGuyZero))):

Roy Ziegler's label???
  1:59am rw:

Identical twins separated at birth. One becomes an Elvis like celebrity named Drexel Hemsley who is bigger than Elvis (who also exists in this particular universe). The other becomes a Drexel Hemsley impersonator. Evidently it gets more ridiculous from there.
  2:01am Andrew Fetter:

Um, it's Royden, BGZ. Show him some respect.
Avatar 2:04am BadGuyZero))):

Sorry. I haven't cracked open a copy of The Newbridgctionary lately.

I was in the Cleveland bus station once. Well, twice, as I had to get back to Pittsburgh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47am Therese:

How did it compare to, say, the Port Authority Bus Terminal?
Avatar 2:48am ! I X Key !:

With nuts & tea, almost anything counts as food

Yum all up almost anything & nuts & tea

Avatar 2:49am Hoboken Jack:

Smaller would be one adjective. And crazily I'm also going to say "less nice."

Thanks Therese, you're the best!
Avatar 2:59am ! I X Key !:

I didn't expect this one time I was at th Albany bus station to be any fun (it was cold out & there were actually people engaging in a physical altercation outside), but I bought Aretha Franklin's book that day there & have never been the same
  3:00am Steve-O:

Well, anyway, good show as usual, Therese.....have a wonderful week! =)
Avatar 3:01am ! I X Key !:

What are some interesting flours? I guess I'm most familiar with semolina & whole wheat & teff & grano & red chestnut

Aretha may like bus stations since she doesn't like to fly.
Avatar 3:02am BadGuyZero))):
