Hope you're feeling better.
  12:07am JakeGould:

Can you post Darren Wilson’s cry lightly bruised cheek as a horror pic du jour here?
Avatar 12:07am cory:

i'm not
  12:09am JakeGould:

I meant to say, “…very lightly bruised cheek…”
Avatar 12:12am cory:

@JakeGould: they will keep killing us until we can become them. Then we will kill them until they are us.

"saying it" with songs tonight ...people who know me know I have no love for any cop. It's a travesty, the latest in a long line....
Avatar 12:16am cory:

it seems Old Will Berger still has hope for us apes. maybe there is a tin lining.
Avatar 12:16am Mugsy:

THAT'S FUNNY, That Black Widow song
Avatar 12:21am Wm.:

Was that a statement of hope? ...I just don't think compounding my disgust upon that of others is going to solve anything. People have a right to be very pissed off.
  12:24am ian:

Watch snow white with the sound off to his music. The truth is revealed. The full movie is on dailymotion of all places.

Mercyful Fate Come to the Sabbath is not he same song. No?
Avatar 12:38am Mugsy:

That's a very good person to be working with.
Avatar 12:40am Wm.:

It's a different song, yes, but similar enough, that it would not have existed without the Black Widow original. But yes, many new lyrics, musically much modified.
  12:42am ellie:

I'm drunk and high. How are ya"ll?
  12:43am JakeGould:

FWIW, William… Sorry I mentioned that a-hat. Get this. Go out to get a chicken gyro sandwich. Late at might I know but I realized I skipped dinner. Anyway, I just say to the guy “How you doing?” He says, “I’m doing fine. You?” I respond, “Doing fine. Not so cold out here.” Then he just goes, “I want them to end these protests already!” I’m stunned not at his sentiment but I am in BAY RIDGE, BROOKLYN! There is 100% no way those protests affect anyone here. And I say, “What do you care? We have no protests here.” Then the guy says, “Yes! But they blocked the FDR Drive!” So I am supposed to be upset the FDR drive was blocked? Screw these casual racists… Newsstands, street food cards, bars… Where do these geniuses exist? Why? Who cares…
Avatar 12:43am Wm.:

I could tell, being not drunk and not high
  12:44am ellie:

make love, not war wfmu peeps! love you all. <3
  12:44am JakeGould:

And when I say, “Who cares…” I mean, let them march. What’s the big deal? A few days out of the year people peaceful march because—I don’t know—someone was MURDERDED and that is what upsets you? That upsets you in a part of NYC that is 100% nowhere near a protest zone? Jesus get a life.
  12:47am JakeGould:

I will say that possessed dolls creep me out. Reminds me of the film “Tourist Trap” with all the mannequins. Man that film creeped me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48am Rory:

The whole "all men are created equal" thing is about as untrue today as it was back when the Declaration of Independence was written back in 1776.
  12:49am ellie:

Can everyone chill out? Let's "make love" :)
Avatar 12:50am Wm.:

I'm surprised really that it has not been a lot worse. Regardless of the circumstances of the Ferguson case (and I cannot speak for the jury, but from what I've read eyewitness testimony tends to support the public's version of events, not Wilson's), this is the latest in a long line of court decisions that essentially say to Black Americans, "your public officials can shoot you dead and get away with it EVERY TIME." The unrest is well-warranted. I just don't want to see anyone but other cops get hurt, certainly not my friends and loved ones. I'll also add that it takes something like this to get people into the streets en masse, and it shouldn't. We must all look away from our tablets and phones and realize that the very rich are screwing us way more than EVER BEFORE, and the police are their complicit army.
  12:50am ellie:

Is anyone watching Snow White to this music? It's the shizzle. :)
  12:51am JakeGould:

Snow White is creepy. CREEP-E.
Avatar 12:51am Wm.:

I LOVE TOURIST TRAP! "Want some crackers?"
Avatar 12:53am Mugsy:

This is real nice.
Avatar 12:54am Wm.:

The still is from Raoul Ruiz' Three Crowns For a Sailor. The dolls are never "explained," but they all have glowing eyes like that. Maria, in the story, is an ethereal bordello girl whose room is decorated with the dolls, and a child's coffin.
  12:55am ellie:

Sure, it's creepy. But it takes on a whole new light when watching w/o sound, but with the music that's currently playing. Smoke a joint.
  12:57am ellie:

You're missing out if you're not watching. :)
  1:03am ellie:

  1:14am JakeGould:

I watched "Tourist Trap" on regular local TV in the 1980s. Maybe channel 5 back then. Scared the shit out of me.
  1:16am JakeGould:

Ellie, where in Brooklyn? Bushburgpoint? Clintongreenestuy? Cobbleheightsboerum? Slopewoodsunset?

I'm laying myself to rest in Bay Ridge.
Avatar 1:18am Wm.:

Now I miss Ellie. Every party needs a wasted chick. Or a wasted dude. Someone whose face we can all draw on with Sharpies.

  1:19am JakeGould:

It's only been 10 minutes, William. Maybe she's taking her time to type out her thoughts.
  1:20am ellie:

Aren't you watching Snow White now? It" like a "Best show" of wfmu.
  1:21am JakeGould:

Ellie, I am going to watch "My Bodyguard" because that.
  1:22am ellie:

I'm in Williamsburg,btw.
Avatar 1:24am ifny:

Fantastic. Thank you for introducing the Cascadia subduction zone to Indricothere.
  1:26am JakeGould:

Well I was close! I hope you enjoy alabaster White Girl who ate an apple and ugly lady gave her and now has to wait for some rich guy to save her while 7 creeps gather around.
  1:26am ellie:

Snow White has been saved! The imagery is amazing :) 1937 people!
Avatar 1:26am Wm.:

Groan. I prefer Dumbo, as classic Disney goes. If you're looking to get riled up about hardcore racism, look no further. Ellie, ever been Le Fette Sau? Or are you a COOL VEGETARIAN?
  1:31am ellie:

No, I'm not a vegetarian. This is the 90"s haven :)
Avatar 1:32am Wm.:

I lived in your apartment in the 90s, or close by, A two-bedroom on Bedford & N.7th for $750 a month!
  1:38am JakeGould:

Dumbo was great. His mom getting locked up for protecting him is one of the saddest moments in film.
  1:39am ellie:

Very cheap. I pay $2000 a month for Nth 6th and Driggs Ave. I split nit with my bf though. Did you have roommates? I hear the burg was much cooler in the 90's...
  1:41am ellie:

My remote has vanished!
  1:43am JakeGould:

Going to Williamsburg in the 1980s was always a bit scary. Now... It's another planet.
Avatar 1:45am Wm.:

I had one roommate. It was cooler in a way, just b/c it didn't have the global reputation, people were not flocking there quite yet. Polish bar fights in the street, burning couches at 2 a.m., and cheap, hard drugs have been replaced by bike lanes and more parking for tourists. When TV shows are set there, it's kind of over...though I will say there are many great places to eat in the area these days, as there were then. Always been a great neighborhood for food. But those bearded dudes with Oreo cookies in their ears are new, can't look at 'em.
Avatar 1:45am Wm.:

It's between the couch cushions!
Avatar 1:49am Wm.:

I firmly believe that big cities should have scary neighborhoods where culture thrives and white people are not entirely comfortable. Make things too nice, and the soul of stoop life is lost.
  1:54am ellie:

when scorsese gfilmed here instead of girls..
  1:57am ellie:

send me a shot out, DJ! :)
  1:58am ellie:

Norge Pride :)
  1:59am ellie:

Thank you :)
  2:00am ellie:

I just want to spread love.
  2:01am JakeGould:

My dad worked in Williamsburg in the 1960s and 1970s. All he ever talked about is how he and coworkers would run as a group to and from work from the subway. That's it.
  2:02am Schlockmaster:

Hey William, no sweat, some of the old crew is still here! Cheers!
  2:02am JakeGould:

Norge pride? Like the fridge?
Avatar 2:04am Wm.:

  2:04am ellie:

this *is* good. No, like Norwegian pride. This reminds me of black moth super rainbow but that's cool.
  2:06am marmalade kitty:

goodmorning Wm. & co!
  2:07am JakeGould:

Okay off to watch *spoilers* Matt Dillon get beat up by Chris Makepeace when all is said and done.
Avatar 2:08am Wm.:

Josh from Grasshopper got me into BMSR - there's one album I really know well and like! A little too pop for this show, but I enjoy it @ home.
  2:10am ellie:

What's your astrological sign, DJ? Thanks for being do polite. Do you smoke? ;)
  2:11am ellie:

scratch the do. I want my iphone!!! Keyboards suck.
  2:14am Schlockmaster:

Avatar 2:17am Mugsy:

never heard black moth super rainbow. what would you suggest to start. lots of stuff by them on spotify.
Avatar 2:17am Wm.:

Leo, and yes I do smoke, but I'm a total snob. Indicas or Indica-dominant only. ...Used to live in SF, which will make one a weed snob, a sashimi snob, a Mexican-food snob, a record-store snob. Life's pretty good there, just too rich for my purse.
Avatar 2:19am Wm.:

Well, Eating Us is my favorite album, Ellie may have another.... It's pretty awesome space-pop.
  2:21am ellie:

I'm in to sativa. :)
  2:23am Schlockmaster:

Best old flick I've never seen before, this week: WALKING TALL 1973 with Joe Don Baker (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070895/) - he doesn't smoke his pipe in this one, but shows his usual stubbornness, its a kinda conservative YOUWONTBRINGME DOWN kinda film, and he gets down with the bad guys, even if it costs him A LOT. Nice physical brutality in this one! Highly recommended. Score didnt do much, though.
  2:26am ellie:

Did you see that on mystery science?
Avatar 2:27am Wm.:

Schlockmeister, never seen Walking Tall? Great film! Classic American revenge story. I have a good American piece of cinema "trash" for you - ever seen Dirty O'Neil? Don't wait another minute! Kind of a sex romp that gradually gets ugly and serious. ...
  2:27am ellie:

All We Need is Love :)
Avatar 2:28am Wm.:

Walking Tall is serious cinema, not like the tacky films on MST3K, though I love many of those as well!
  2:30am ellie:

DJ, are you cute?
  2:31am ellie:

Btw, I'm Sagittarius :)
  2:34am ellie:

I have some digital audio tapes, can you play digital audio tapes? Remote is still MIA..... Love you <3
  2:35am Geoff:

Avatar 2:38am Wm.:

Cute? Some ladies think so, I never know personally. You can see a pic of me right here, next to my posts. ...I don't think we have DAT players in this studio, maybe elsewhere in the bldg. a) WHAT WOULD YOUR BOYFRIEND SAY? and b) are YOU cute???

And dont fall for those dames, see ya.

I've listened to their Sugarm release so much lately, that and Deleted st (1988) put out by EE Tapes.

I'm so confused! What is going on? BTW, love this music. :)
  2:51am ellie:

Marijuana brings clarity :)
  2:52am ellie:

What language was the last song? :)
Avatar 2:56am Wm.:

This is all one side of a Dutch psych LP, but I hear German, and of course English. YEAH, Sugarm is great!!! ...and I guess I AM NOT CUTE, EH?? Marijuana brings a perceived clarity, not "real" clarity, but what is real? WHAT IF REAL NOT KILL?
  2:57am ellie:

BTW, I'm cute. Do you have subtitles to this current track?
  2:59am ellie:

the math questions are getting hard. Its french, no?
