This is where all of culture and all of time are collapsed into one seductive portal and viewed through the panoramic lens of the exotic. Come and embark on an armchair-travel virtual-voyage to the heart of timeless darkness and beyond; embrace the numinous monolith of the exotic immensity. Let us find that place where hybridization meets its destiny as pure fantasy. Let us become observers observing those others who are ourselves. You wear your mask and I'll wear mine.

"Touch of Evil" is such a great score. I recorded the audio off the tv as a youngster.
We def need more "Latin noir." Two great tastes that taste great together.

@NGH: Stay warm, eskimo
@glenn: not THE last noir ever of course, but sort of the last major noir in the classical noir era

Thanks Flash, my first Martin Denny record I picked up was in a giant thrift store w/ about only 30 records. I think Laetitia Sadier mentioned him and about the same time, Kid Koala did a nice Martin Denny remix....

Bummed I missed Touch of Evil cuts, not that I can't play my own copy but it's so much more fun to hear via radio. Computer. Whatever.

As for the Crossfires, I think you're right! Seems that the Turtles used to be a surf group called the Crossfires, and they included a reference to that on Battle of the Bands. But I would not have known that if not for you, so I thank you! Gotta give that album a listen.
