Half an hour after todays show starts a man will come and distract me, trying to sell me an electric garage door. I've always wanted an electric garage door and this company have a 70% discount going on, so I might be tempted. I'll have wfmu on in the garage, so any female power ballads about garage doors or garage door salesmen might make it hilariously awkward.
thanks for getting me hooked on Black Mirror Ken.
in honor of your successful "green show" last week, and because i can't get that damn song out of my head from episode two (the bicycle episode), i've gotta request ABBA's I Have A Dream (I Believe In Angels). that's kinda power ballady, no?
If you like Black Mirror check out Charlie Brooker's other stuff, he has a great show called Dead Set, which is about a zombie apocalypse from the point of view of everyone in the Big Brother house, it's a bit Twilight Zone-y like Black Mirror, but Brooker also does these weekly 'Screenwipe' programs, where he discusses the news, one off 'GamesWipe' kinds of shows, they all started from his weekly column in the Guardian called Screenwipe www.theguardian.com... which is available in print or online, he's a very funny man, I think I've read every word he's written/published for about 10 years now, this weeks is as good as any www.theguardian.com...
He also got death threats for knocking your old boss:
(copied from wikipedia) "On 24 October 2004, he wrote a column on George W. Bush and the forthcoming 2004 US Presidential Election[8] which concluded:
“ John Wilkes Booth, Lee Harvey Oswald, John Hinckley, Jr. – where are you now that we need you? ”
i am streaming on my desktop, laptop, and iphone. all have different delays on them, so i have positioned them at different distances from where i am. sounds like i am in a cave. it's an interesting echo effect.
you know your little bit of snow was international news, it was on every tv channel and even bbc radio, probably panicking all your relatives abroad (if you have any). Where I live we get 6 feet of snow and no-one notices
Hi, What was that song you played a few songs back that had the lyric "all is fair in love and war"? I think another lyric was "I can see and I can hear.."
I know that's not much to go on, but I rally liked it and am very curious!
Thanks! =)

Oh actually, it might have been on John Allen's how!
I still love the post 9-11 episode of south park where everyone confused a goat as stevie nicks. they even put the goat on stage. the backup singers sing "just like the white winged dove sings a song sounds like she's singing" and the goat bleats "meh" back and forth with the band band singing "baby."
When that Angelica song began with the breathy little-girl voice, at first I thought it was another project involving Yolandi Visser, the freaky pale woman from Die Antwoord.
Pretty much all six episodes have had me sitting in stunned silence during the credits. I think my favorite was the second one that the song came from. I really loved the first episode with the Prime Minister and the Princess, though. So well produced.

Sacrebleu!! I thought we were going to listen to the Schlammpeitziger's goat song! I've been waiting years for you Ken to play it again for it is inaccessible from the WFMU archives. I think it's called 2-4.
@Kn, I am impressed with your abilitiy to entertain, though I'm flabbergasted with where you find all this material, gif's and such. What's your secret?
Yes! I call it the goat song because in some part of its lyrics [although it is mostly instrumental] a man says in English 'you do [something] and I'll get the goat". It also says something about "the Casio Beat" and they also say "Schlampeitziger" [so from the begining I knew how to pronounce the name of the band!]. can't you find it as 2 to 4 ? or 2-4. Can't be sure if that's the correct combination of numbers.
It's the most Kennish song of all the Schlammpeitzinger songs you have ever played.
f0f0, what album is it from? I cant find it. Where's the playlist page it is from?

thank you for not playing any
Tonetta today Ken. I'm just lounging at home wearing my WFMu tshirt enjoying a day off with you in my ears.. hello hello Ken fans all over the world.
Izzat a wallaby? It matches the rhythm, then the kitties match, then the wallaby again. They're hypno- messaging me...to go back out...to re-re-shovel.
"Schlammpeitziger" is derived from "Schlammpeitzger", which is a mud-fish (Misgurnus), this one here: en.wikipedia.org...

Ken,
Last time i requested you that song [about 2 years ago]] I did a little research trying to find a reference page but I quickly realise the band Schlampeitizger appears spelled in so many ways in the WFMU archives that it took me a while to frame it, but alas, didn't bookmarked. I'll try again .
Say what you want about Dylan, but sometimes the only answer to the holidays is Dylan's Christmas album. It is the only holiday music that makes me laugh out loud.
@fred: I think Dylan dressing as Rammstein while singing might be even more fun.
btw, found a place in the 8th arrondissement which stocks that single malt from Cape Breton. Wheels are turning.
@fred: yes. The last time I checked they were out of the 10-year, but had the 18 in stock.
I had hoped The Moose would have it in its bar stock, but I guess not.
@Sem: I will ask about it. They might say it's not for me though, they don't mince words with me, and they know what I like. I trust them blindly, never had to regret it in all these years
I suspect that it does not, hence my hope to find it available in single serving size for you to try:-)

Sony should have done an alternate ending for that movie where Seth Rogen and James Franco are fed to the Great Leaders Dogs and then Sold it back to the Hermit Kingdom. Everyone Wins!

Unfortunately no longer available where I live, though I heard it was in Germany. Dunno about the US, probably banned, it's that good
