Street interviews, listener call-ins, vinyl gluttery, sporadic normalcy, original floperas and fiktion, blatant talking over songs, politix, tenderness, and a vague undercurrent of angst. Right up your alley!

Artist Track Album Label Year Format Comments Approx. start time
Todd Rundgren  Hello It's Me   Favoriting Something/Anything?  Bearsville  1972  MP3  Not sure how it happened, but Todd has become a figure of discussion on the Dusty Show. I am a fan, though not fanatical. I even opened for Todd on one date of his Tiki Lounge tour in the '90's and got to meet him. He was very cool. An awesome producer, as well, and of course, this song is great.

A Little Todd Talk
Rod Stewart  Can We Still Be Friends   Favoriting Camouflage  Warner Bros  1984  LP  Incorrectly identifed by me as being from the "Infatuation" LP. Infatuation was a hit song from this record. I know this isn't the greatest version, but I stumbled upon it by accident. There are some good songs on this LP. Like his version of Free's "All Right Now."

Bushwick Bill  Unforgiven   Favoriting   Nu-Wave Entertainment  2000  12"  Found this in a flea market for $1. Love it. Too bad about the cat hair or whatever made it skip. Never happened to me quite this bad on the air before.

Archie Ulm  Time Is Tight/MacArthur Park   Favoriting Experience  Real Sound Recording Studio  1979  LP  Milwaukee private press release from '79.

I am a Mess
I'll be honest and right up front with you. That was a tough Dusty Show for me. Not sure why, either. Well ... I may have an idea. I felt the last few shows before this were pretty decent. Good audience reaction. I worked hard on them. But this show ... it's like it was pre-destined to be diffiucult. I feel that feeling sometimes days in advance, and it feels as if there is nothing I can do about it. That being said, thanks to the listeners, the callers, Fabio, etc. It's not your fault.

So, on to next week. As I write this, it is Monday, February 3rd. Groundhog Day got by me and I barely even noticed. Didn't even see the BIll Murray picture, which I enjoy. I did watch The Big Lebowski for a while, and that was funny, especially John Goodman ranting in Johnny's in LA. I recognized the place and realized I used to hang out there back circa 99-01. It's gone now, but it was wonderful. A lot of wonderful things are gone, or they are going to be.

So ... I have very little lined up for this week coming up and it stresses me. I don't want to go "live" again, but I just find it excruciating to do street interviews, and it's so cold. I may have lost it completely. I'll figure something out. Marathon is coming too and I am totally unprepared. The freaking stress of it all - then, factor in real life and it's something, I'll tell you, but I am sure you know all about it. We're all adrift in the plutocracy, trying to make sesne of things. I'll catch you later, OK? Thanks for listening and don't give up on The Pidge. We had 182 comments this past week. That's my barometer. We're OK here. Hanging in. Making it last. Like old tired gum. Love ya. Always remember.
