Afternoon, Liz! And congratulations on not having the Monday morning post-Hoof & Mouth slot! That said, poor Chris M.

After Liz! Congrats on the Marathon!

You kinda had to play Terry Riley after Trouble's show, didn't you?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm
Liz Berg:

Thanks for a great Marathon, everybody!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm
Webhamster Henry:

Let's have an "In C" stream.
  12:12pm
Ralphine:

I suggest following this with "Johnny One Note."
Avatar 12:12pm

yeah, if somebody made a stream with nothing but "In C" 24x7x365, i'd probably have to start sleeping with headphones on. y'know, so i don't miss anything.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm

damn that is actually a really good idea

I was ready to strangle everyone I work with and then Liz put on In C and everything was better
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm
tomasz.:

or get the H&M to do their own rendition some time
Avatar 12:17pm
steve:

i've been thinking about making Generative Italo Disco software for years now, buts its just too much, Generative In C would probably be a lot easier!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm
Liz Berg:

Both are great ideas, Steve!
Avatar 12:26pm
Mdurek:

@steve will you write the code in C ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm

Can't listen to the today :-( But wanted to say, seeing the horn blow 100% is totally awesome!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm
chris:

*to the show... sigh
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm
Webhamster Henry:

Some of you may know that I make experimental music apps (like the original WFMU radio app and the Andymatic Zingatron...) and a generalized in-C like generator app would be pretty easy to make.
Avatar 12:29pm
Mdurek:

@webhamster write it in Objective C !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm
Webhamster Henry:

<nerd talk>It certainly would be @Mdurek, I haven't tried Swift yet </ nerd talk>
Avatar 12:30pm
steve:

nice one Mike! @Henry - right, that's pretty much what i was trying to say.
Avatar 12:33pm

I'm guessing there are plenty of similarly punned apps written in swift :P
Avatar 12:34pm
steve:

i love the Andymatic Zingatron btw WH!

Nice to see the goal reached in the 48 hours post end. I remember last year it was days—weeks?—later when that happened.

this is the most insane version of Rage Over a Lost Penny I've ever heard..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm

I guess I could do thatTaylor Swift noise remix app. OK I'll shut up now.
Congrats WFMU on reaching your goal! And thanks as always, Liz, for your over-the-airing of the Free Music Archive!

I was playing computer pinball, which in this environment doesn't act right unless its crappy music is turned on, and this "Beethoven" was mixing with it very well.
  12:43pm

@Robert: Why you no logged in?
  12:44pm

Weeee! Go Liz!
  12:46pm
r i s k y:

YOU GOT IT! WE WANT IT! So dump the clutch on this piece!!
  12:46pm
Listener Robert:

I mean, AFAICT, unregistered Robert is usually me. Kenzo would have no direct way to know that.
Avatar 12:48pm

@listener Robert, try spelling it with and underscore Robert_ . I did that and somehow Kenzo reclaimed Mdurek from some other user or just some robot ghost, and removed the underscore

i did a variation on Satie, but it's not a "remix".

That was a great Hoof & Mouth. Never thought I'd get that emotional over a Grand Funk Railroad cover.

@KatinChicago: WFMU makes you realize you can shine a turd and it will be nice!

that guy Clay has the perfect stage presence to me

Yeah, I love the way he owns the room when he's performing. When he's singing, he *is* that guy.

(pic before the above one is Clay Pigeon and Matt Warwick singing together. Matt really really enjoyed it.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm
Greg from Bloomfield:

He's UNREAL. At rehearsal he was at like 35%, claiming he can't hit the high notes like he used to. And then when it's Game Time he just turns it on like a switch.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm
Liz Berg:

Great job on the alphorn guy, Greg! Love it!!
Avatar 1:37pm
pierre:

I wish his show was more suitable to my time stream, of course there is archive, but then I wouldn't able to listen to WFMU shows in my own time stream, I don't have enough time to listen to all of the great radio !

And yes Greg, a big bravo from Paris for that graphics you do for FMU !!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm
Greg from Bloomfield:

Thanks so much! Now I totally get why Faye works in gifs, and I'm going to start stealing all her ideas.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm
Mike East:

@Greg - you made that?! Great job! Was commenting on Trouble's show that I think its the best marathon gif yet!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm
coelacanth:

Greg, it's Beautiful!
(-and Faye's work is brilliant.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm
chris:

I second that, Mike East. Yay, Greg! Yay for 100%! (stealing is the best form of flattery, or something like that)
  1:44pm
Ike:

Ah, maybe that's why he's so insecure. He's used to getting that audience adoration, but doesn't perform regularly anymore, and misses it (??).

JakeGould:

“I'M GONNA PLOTZ YOU GUYS!” Plotz us guys? Go plotz yourself!

“…i just ate a can of sardines for lunch…” My thoughts go out to your loved ones and your plumbing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm

yeah i did meditate on that visual for about 10 minutes...and then 5 more!

{gush...}
  1:55pm
Listener Robert:

Thanks, Mdurek, but at least for now I'd just as soon be Listener Robert as underscore Robert.

Ken did say that ani-GIF was going to be great. I can'tdecide whether the bursts in the sky are fireworks or the horn blower is hyperventilating so much he's seeing stars. It works either way.
Avatar 2:08pm
Caryn:

@steve: hey, my belt tightening involves cans of tuna and (if I feel fancy) mackerel! Canned fish buddies!
Avatar 2:09pm

My fave bit of the 100 % gif: the spinning hat. Delightful every time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm

Not much post-marathon belt tightening required here. I always pledge my beer money. (I can't stand beer.) (I miss out on camaraderie at bars, but I have more to pledge.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm
coelacanth:

i like the way the musical notes fade one at a time.
Avatar 2:13pm
steve:

high 5 Caryn! i had canned tuna on some tasty "pretzel bread" for lunch yesterday, and ate the remaining mouthful of canned tuna earlier today.
Avatar 2:13pm
Caryn:

@coelacanth: I liked the growing music notes as the numbers increased throughout the Marathon, but at 100 %, I've become very hornblower-centric :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm
coelacanth:

if you want less mercury in your body, eat tongol tuna instead of "light" or "albacore".
...it's also fairly harmless to dolphins because they dont swim together like the yellowfins & dolphins do. (the "dolphin safe" thing is bullshit, courtesy of r reagan.)

The only downside to WFMU reaching their goal is that the gif will soon go away :(
I'm hoping they'll keep it around for at least a week or two.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm

Caryn, you can see the gif forever, as long as it doesn't get moved: wfmu.org... or you can just download it and save it to look at anytime you want to see the awesomeness
