Hello people!
  9:08pm
Martha:

Hi all - thanks for checking in!
  9:15pm
JakeGould:

Dominatrix sleeping tonight is hot on WFMU.
  9:16pm
Martha:

I should hope so...

Martha this show is sounding awesome.
  9:21pm
Martha:

Thanks! - a little dif. from the usual start perhaps -

- interesting about the CIA & all - but 'Dominatrix...' is...not really that sexy...
...SOoA sounds fully erect tho' ! ; Fuzz like maybe I haven't heard since Iron Butterfly...
Avatar 9:29pm
vietnam_veterinarian:

Damn i like this
  9:30pm
Martha:

Yeah that new SOoA release IS hot - as is this -

Although in dif ways -

Satanic Warmaster. Now that is a great band name.
  9:36pm
Martha:

They've been around since ca. 2000 apparently -
Avatar 9:37pm
SiHV:

Yeah I was just looking at it. Shows you what I know. Unfortunate political views too. Black metalers, so angry.

On a related note:
noisey.vice.com...
Avatar 9:39pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- joined no less than two âš¡abbath groups on facebook
...could not get a discussion started about Stoner Metal w/ those Traditional people - even tho' âš¡abbath is 80% of what that whole Genre is about - where most of those bands even derive their names...tho' that was Black Metal...& my point was...
Avatar 9:42pm
SiHV:

Yeah, I thought the title of the article was funnier than the actual contents. The article attempts to level charges of elitism, but seems to concentrate more on a jock-ish mocking of nerds in corpse paint. Blah. Great show Martha.
Avatar 9:55pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...my point actually was 'Satanic Warmaster' is very 'War Pigs' by âš¡abbath
...yeah - funny when Rawkin' bands have Politix you feel are weird - but I guess Hard Rawk is kind of about Extremism...
  9:55pm
JakeGould:

@RR63: You'll never get anyone in those groups to ever say, "This is what real music is. That's it." Those kind of fans are the worst.
  10:04pm
Martha:

And why is Vice such an actively annoying crap "publication"? - it's about as elitist as they come (imho). Now watch horrible things happen to me...no, not really, I'm just a chick after all -
  10:10pm
TJ:

Martha!
  10:10pm
Martha:

And while we're letting it out - this is going to be a pretty noisy show w/ long cuts by bands w/ awe-some names -
  10:11pm
Martha:

Hey TJ - and everyone else - thanks for checking in -

Gnaw Their Tongues certainly puts a lot of thought into their song titles www.metal-archives.com...
Avatar 10:20pm

I'm surprised to hear GTT on a radio station. HAha so great.
  10:20pm
Martha:

And as a final note - everyone knows that Deafheaven is this weird, touchy subject for metal folks...
  10:22pm
Martha:

I guess I shouldn't say everyone - and it may not all be noisy - plus I love GTT, they are v. prolific as well as having great song titles -

We love the BQ her on the 'FMU - Ice, you are v. obscure in your refs, but I think I might be getting them -
  11:11pm
KP:

I'm ok. Just got in from a Shaker fest
Avatar 11:18pm
SiHV:

I think on that same Devo live show you can hear Mark Mothersbaugh get into a confrontation with audience members during "Jocko Homo". Good stuff.
  11:20pm
Martha:

That is an amazing CD - I would love to hear the tapes it came from - and need to listen to the CD more carefully -
  11:20pm
Martha:

Hey KP, what's a Shaker Fest - did you attend a service? - apparently it is v. interesting -
  11:32pm
KP:

It was basically Frances McDormand and Suzzy Roche, and others, singing Shaker songs. It was a little tongue In cheek. It was only 55 minutes. Nice night for ferry to Brooklyn I guess
  11:36pm
Martha:

Ah. My folks went to a service at one of the last Shaker villages up in Maine (?Sabbath Day Lake?) - said it was very interesting - all spontaneous - singing, quoting from the Bible. etc. Very peaceful, calming.
  11:38pm
KP:

Frances McDormand is never calming, but yes I could see that
  11:39pm
KP:

Speaking of calming, Destruction Unit
  11:41pm
Martha:

I totally [heart] Destruction Unit - though I have now played the last of the four tracks on this CD so that will be it for a while - though I do find this type of music very calming -
  11:43pm
Martha:

Yeah- but I don't see FMcD in that kind of setting - though maybe I am wrong -

  11:53pm

Thanks all - and I agree - it can get pretty trance-like (I would say trance-y but then I'd start smelling patchouli [sp?]).
Avatar 11:55pm

This is so awesome. My body move involuntarily.
