The song, btw, was "Dead Fox". On 91.7 here in Dallas. =)

Shut up, I missed the Dewan show because I wasn't paying attention to "dates" and "calendars" and I'm annoyed with myself.

Wouldn't a Dynasty-style fight be a recreation of a fight which had already happened on Dallas?

Jeff- it's all Aaron Spelling, isn't it? (Dallas was an Aaron Spelling show, wasn't it?)

It's moon people! They're having a wedding ceremony! They're dancing & singing!
Avatar 1:01am
Jeff:

Now you made me look it up. I always remembered Dynasty as a later Dallas clone, and that's what it looks like - Dallas (no Spelling involvement that I immediately see) started in 1978, then Spelling rolled out the purely-coincidentally-really-similar Dynasty starting in 1981.
  1:02am
rw:

Howdy!
  1:02am
JakeGould:

@Therese: Aaron Spelling has produced a lot, but he has nothing to do with “Dallas.”
Avatar 1:06am
Therese:

How did Knots Landing and Falcon Crest fit in to this puzzle? One was a Dallas spin-off, I think?
  1:07am
JakeGould:

As I look this up, million dollar idea: Don Knotts Landing
Avatar 1:07am
Therese:

80's prime time soaps all kind of blend together in a blur of shoulder pads.
  1:10am
JakeGould:

“Falcon Crest” created by Earl Hamner who created “The Waltons.”

“Knots Landing” created by David Jacobs who was a creator/writer for “Dallas” and the show, “Family.”
Avatar 1:10am
BadGuyZero:

"Knots Landing" was a "Dallas" spin-off; "Falcon Crest" was not. "Falcon Crest" did, however, air after "Dallas" for several seasons.
  1:12am
JakeGould:

@Therese: Speaking of 1980s, been rewatching old “Magnum P.I.” and dork kid actor Lauri Hendler from “Gimme a Break!“ appeared on an early episode. She is the dorky girl in glasses all the way to the left of this pic, right next to Nell Carter. www.sitcomsonline.com...

The snooty people would watch "Upstairs, Downstairs."

How to smell like John Forsythe!
  1:36am
JakeGould:

FWIW, Therese did you hear that some kid in Los Angeles contracted the plague after a trip to some national forest? Legionnaires disease in NYC and the plague in Los Angeles? This retro disease craze is giving me rickets! gizmodo.com...

A few nights ago I was watching "Less Than Zero" and had an epiphany: "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" is John Hughes' fanfic prequel to LTZ.
  1:44am
JakeGould:

I realized I was exiting one stage of my teenage life when “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” did nothing for me and I discovered Metallica’s “Master of Puppets.”
Avatar 1:46am
BadGuyZero:

"Master Of Puppets" was pretty great until eight months later when "Reign In Blood" came out.

@BadGuyZero: Never got deeper into metal; mainly on the pop side for me. Just really liked “Master of Puppets.”

im sorry but in terms of cylons, which is among other things the word anonymous in 2008 used for scientologists, i love how what's it's down to at this point is that one person said that the reason they think the Church of Scientology's PAC Base should be shut down is its gross out-tech, & that its PCs (oh I mean pre-clears) should be moved to the Flag Land Base or somewhere like that

Hollywood Records (Queen's current label) would do a great job with a Supertramp reunion.

Another question: who should produce/release The Tubes' reboot album?
  2:57am

Anyway, thanks for a wonderful show as usual, Therese! I hope you have a awesome week ahead.....=)
