Sun. Dec 22nd, 3pm - 5pm:
The Unsolicited Return of the Winter Soul-stice (fill-in for Paul Bruno)
(More info...)
You can't stop the seasons from turning, and you evidently also can't stop an old dog from performing his one old trick. Answering the teeming clamor of one New York Times food columnist
, Gaylord Fields is returning to WFMU's airwaves for a one-off Winter Soul-stice program. In his time away he's learned nothing, so the format will remain the same: two hours of original 1960s soul 45s, and the abuse of an expensive reverb machine for the sake of corny vocal effects.
@Andrew S: Just as I wouldn't argue if you called John the experimental Beatle (though I'm not entirely sold on that), Paul was by far the experimental ex-Beatle.
Hullo - always a pleasure.
...I'd say Johnny's ex-Rutle experimenting was extra-musical - but Sir Macca was the one most invested in the game of music...
he's a scheming, conniving, corrupt, lying, incompetent, petty, bible thumping, cowardly, machiavellian little douchenozzle, and those are his good points.
Politrix is where Idealism meets the Game of Power: It is ugly & it smells bad. Ya gotta hold yer nose kiddos - that's the 1st thing that you learn. Unfortunately, if you ignore it, the very smelliest end up Governing us...
