  8:08pm JakeGould:

Yee haw!!!!
  8:08pm FART:

I've only heard the George Jones version of this one...till now!

[ The current Louvin Brothers may not necessarily reflect the views of your Honky Tonk Radio Girl ]
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10pm dale:

love this. i foresee doom if it happens. DOOM , i say!
  8:10pm JakeGould:

Well they are taking about taking the Bible out of “our schoolrooms” which means their schoolrooms which means… Whatever…
  8:12pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Children should absolutely be educated about the dangers of the Bible.
  8:15pm JakeGould:

There’s a Mosque right near the movie theater near me. To “make nice” with the Jewish and Christian community the sign talks about how Islam respects all religions…

Okay, I buy that nice bit of “we are all the same”-ness… But then on a hand written chalkboard they wrote, “LIFE IS A MOVIE • DO YOU KNOW HOW YOURS WILL END?” Nice way for kids to be scared shitless before watching the Peanuts movie.

Any song about trees.....I'm down with :)
  8:16pm JakeGould:

Wow, now I want to go to New Brunswick… This show is evil.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:16pm dale:

digging into the scratchy stuff tonight. i like it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:17pm Becky:

Jake, I don't know if you're located near WFMU, but it's only a 20 minute drive away.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18pm redkayak:

This song has that Johnny Cash "boom-chikka, boom-chikka"
  8:18pm JakeGould:

@Becky: I’m in Brooklyn; the non-hipster part of it. So New Brunswick might be just like where I am now but with Pork Rolls.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19pm dale:

i like how scotty has to qualify with 'versa-tile'

...it's the Transportation Theory of Music History: ...Marching, Horses, Trains, Cars, Jets, Spaceships...
Avatar 8:20pm bobdoesthings:

park slope still seems vaguely hipster ish to me jake
  8:28pm JakeGould:

@BobDoesThings: I’m not in Park Slope. I’m in Bay Ridge. Unless I am missing the hipster reference?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29pm redkayak:

Indecisive, isn't he?
  8:29pm Hackensack Slim:

Cool show. I grew up not far from New Brunswick, NJ. I wasn't paying real close attention so I didn't hear the lyrics, but ya think maybe Versatile Scotty S, was singin about the Canadian province, as opposed to the city in Jersey. (What with the name of his band and all) A re-listen via the Archives is in order.
  8:30pm JakeGould:

“Now that I’ve got you, I’m not sure I want you… Because I act impulsively and then have second thoughts about life decisions when reality hits.”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31pm Becky:

@Slim, I was born in Jersey City and grew up in Metuchen. Judging by the lush landscape he described, I can say with confidence he was definitely talking Canada.
Avatar 8:33pm bobdoesthings:

@jake - oh oops.. I guess I just assumed it cause one of your instagram posts were from that area. Never been to the bay ridge area though, nor am I one to comment.. I dunno. all good anyways.
  8:34pm JakeGould:

@bobdoesthings: Yeah, I live in Bay Ridge but—no disrespect to the neighborhood—but there’s not much to do over here. So I go elsewhere to do things.
  8:37pm TY:

I'm in love!
Avatar 8:40pm Raika:

First time hearing this show. Enjoying it a lot.
Avatar 8:40pm bobdoesthings:

@jake - same as me.. flatbush/lefferts ish area. not much to do.. gotta travel to do something worth doing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:41pm Becky:

Hey, thanks everyone for listening!
  8:45pm JakeGould:

No, thank you Becky!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:45pm Becky:

I said it once, but it bears repeating - if you're in the neighborhood, please stop by Monty Hall on Friday, 7 PM - 10:30 PM! Downtown Soulville live broadcast and dance party! Me and Gaylord Fields will help Mr. Fine Wine celebrate!
Avatar 8:46pm bobdoesthings:

it's a sockhop isn't it?

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50pm Becky:

Hey, thanks Jake! And yeah, bob, it's a sock hop!
  8:55pm Lisa Stark:

That Donna Fargo record was so much better than any of her big hits. She has a lovely voice.
Avatar 8:55pm bobdoesthings:

I love the idea of a sockhop.. I dislike the idea of not wearing shoes on monty hall's carpet
  8:58pm JakeGould:

Thanks for the hour of honky tonk, Becky!
