Well, OK, you got me there. I usually have to deal with Logan, which evokes other emotions (as plane flies over my head). We do have Saarinen's lovely Kresge Auditorium at MIT, however.
@dale: Not the first time at all, and not even the first time for this particular song (thought a few twisted versions of Manilow songs have been played on the station).
@coelacanth: More like "You Packed a Bag in 10 Minutes Flat, Dropped the Kids Off at the Grandparents, and Left No Forwarding Address Feeling"!

LOVE the Rasperries. And Saarinen. @DJ Gaylord: I'm sure you noticed that the entire design of the secret MIB headquarters in the movie Men In Black was inspired by Saarinen's JFK terminal and iconic "Tulip" chairs and tables.
i have a patchy knowledge, considering the large output of the hollies; but tend to always like the Nash-era stuff...'though i do LOVE "the air that i breathe".
@coelacanth: When "The Air That I Breathe" was a hit, I was distracted by other songs, but I have a better appreciation for it now.
@Revolution Rabbit Nov63: They were surprisingly teh late bloomers of the British Invasion, with many worthy songs not charting in the Top 40 until "Bus Stop."
@glenn: I'm okay with "Brother," but, like @coelacanth, I kinda consider it a decent pop song that the Hollies' vocalists happen to have sung (and sing quite well, objectively speaking).
were they on cbs? that network tried so hard to replace sonny and cher but nothing had the same magic. not even shields and yarnell. maybe the captain and tenille. were they all cbs?
@Linda Lee: I'm glad WFMU can break through the solitude.

Always nice to hear Jimmy Reed. I guess he was drunk most of the time. That's why his wife had to sit next to him in the studio and whisper the words to him. Sometimes you can hear her a little bit.
FYI What About Us is Bernie Sanders' official campaign song.

I remember the Hudson Brothers TV show. I never watched it, but I remember there was such a thing as the Hudson Brothers Show. I remember thinking, "Who the hell are the Hudson Brothers?"
Gaylord, your show transcends the senses. I don't feel like I am listening to the radio, more like I'm traveling in a strange, wondrous new land, where all modes of perception are called for duty.
How many people jumped during that Coasters tune, like me, screamed, wondered why we have never heard this before, and marveled at the relevance of this ancient tune?
