Avatar 12:03am BadGuyZero:

Hello, Therese. I hope you're feeling better tonight than you did last week.
  12:04am JakeGould:

Hey! Hello!
Avatar 12:04am egal:

I hope the new web design is beta.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04am famous original sugarwolf:

  12:05am JakeGould:

@egal: I like the overall design, but I think the lack of color is a weakness. There were two key colors on the old setup and I think they could be integrated here.
Avatar 12:05am BadGuyZero:

@Famous Original Sugarwolf: Do you have an impostor?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:06am Therese:

This is the first time I've seen the new web design- it's been a long time coming...
  12:10am Infamous Unoriginal JakeGould:

Hey! Look at me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14am famous original sugarwolf:

@BGZ: not that I know of!
  12:15am same old rw:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16am coelacanth:

hello Therese and all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20am totally an imposter coelacanth:

yeah that main page needs some color, badly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27am Ken From Hyde Park:

Time for the DJ to speak! Let's hear what she has to say.
Avatar 12:29am BadGuyZero:

"Tapeheads" was indeed a Mike Nesmith production.
Avatar 12:30am BadGuyZero:

Lots of musician cameos in that movie.
  12:31am MONEYBAG$:

Maybe some study showed that millennials can't handle colorful websites
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42am coelacanth:

Avatar 12:48am BadGuyZero:

My theory is that the redesigned homepage WAS in color. But they used Turntable 3 to upload the new design and it switched everything to black & white.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01am coelacanth:

i like theories.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02am pacific standard simon:

Me weighing in -- the homepage redesign is confusing, and the upcoming programs thing is wrong, but we'll probably get used to it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04am coelacanth:

(not spanish, portuguese.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06am pacific standard simon:

I just found out that I missed seeing Greys play Seattle last night. Didn't know, working anyway. [Grinds teeth.] [Curses violently.]
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09am pacific standard simon:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16am pacific standard simon:

I only have to work a half day on Thanksgiving, for which I am grateful.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18am pacific standard simon:

I prefer humorous Doctors to grim Doctors.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18am coelacanth:

i don't have to work on thanksgiving, and i can't get out of it.
  1:20am KP:

Nice night music
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26am pacific standard simon:

If memory serves, you can easily discern Portuguese from Spanish by the presence of the "sh" sound, which Spanish doesn't have.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27am pacific standard simon:

Ironic. eh?
Avatar 1:29am BadGuyZero:

For the first time ever my brother and I have been tasked with providing the turkey at this year's Thanksgiving gathering. We're trying to decide which prank to pull so that we never have to do this again. I bought a Cornish hen as it gives us two options:

1. The pregnant turkey prank [in which the hen is inserted into the turkey prior to serving, giving the impression that we acquired a pregnant bird]
2. Acting like I misread the 1 pound 6 ounce description as 16 pounds. It would be like Spinal Tap's "Stonehenge." Except with poultry.

We've also considered showing up with a few packs of turkey lunchmeat or a bunch of turkey TV dinners. Fret not, we are bringing proper turkey.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30am pacific standard simon:

Cherry bomb "cooks" the stuffing.
  1:31am JakeGould:

@BadGuyZero: If nobody of the people you plan on serving that to are vegan or have dietary issues, I suggest getting Tokfurky stuff and even overdoing it with the explanation that it’s healthy and gluten free.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32am pacific standard simon:

"Cold Turkey" Thanksgiving; confiscate everybody's heroin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34am pacific standard simon:

Turkey TV dinners all around.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35am pacific standard simon:

@Therese - yr making me groove.
  1:36am MONEYBAG$:

This month's sloth on my sloth calendar is named Ubu
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37am pacific standard simon:

Early Ubu had the best rhythm section -- what happened?
  1:44am rw:

BGZ, I don't know, man. All of those options sound pretty great. You could say that you ordered a 16 lb turkey online and misplaced the decimal. It showed up TG morning and the supermarket was out of turkeys, so you're hoping everybody else brought enough mashed potatoes, etc. for a full meal.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46am pacific standard simon:

Do the turkey, but tell everybody that they were all out of turkeys (shortage this year) so you got a pig with wings.
  1:47am rw:

Pregnant turkey would go down in history though.
Avatar 1:48am BadGuyZero:

@pss: Ooh...that's an idea. Get a ham and tie two drumsticks to it.
  1:49am JakeGould:

@BadGuyZero: Get a 50 piece Chicken McNugget bucket for $9.99, but take a magic marker to it and change “Chicken” to “Turkey.”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50am pacific standard simon:

Speaking of "pigs with wings", Elvis Costello's memoirs are great reading. If you've been disappointed by the likes of Pete Townshend & Keith Richards, go with Elvis.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54am pacific standard simon:

Pooping turkey -- press down, and the Brussels sprouts pop out.
Avatar 1:55am BadGuyZero:

The Elvis Costello and Carrie Brownstein books are on my "to buy" list.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57am pacific standard simon:

@BadGuyZero -- It's a book you'll want to re-read someday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00am pacific standard simon:

Why is The Life Pursuit the only Belle and Sebastian album I like? It doesn't seem fair.
Avatar 2:01am Aki Ozu:

one of the favorite tracks of all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02am pacific standard simon:

Hearing the genesis of the Pere Ubu rhythm section.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16am pacific standard simon:

This record would be genius if it had some lyrics, or no lyrics.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17am pacific standard simon:

Or Mickey Dolenz.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20am pacific standard simon:

Face facts, Can with Mickey the Monkee would have been a supergroup.
Avatar 2:22am BadGuyZero:

Sometimes that's how radio goes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29am pacific standard simon:

Still gots my Ork Records single of this. I get how Verlaine might have been right about Hell's indolent musicianship, but Hell's lyricism was worth keeping.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:32am pacific standard simon:

It's like when The Dead were talking about kicking Bob Weir out of the band -- didn't happen, and a good thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:37am pacific standard simon:

Hilarious album title.
Avatar 2:41am BadGuyZero:

Mavis Staples and Nick Lowe are touring together next year!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49am pacific standard simon:

@BadGuyZero - There's a match made in heaven.
Avatar 2:57am BadGuyZero:

Is Christina a potential fill-in for next week?
  2:57am Steve-O:

Hi guys! Sorry for not commenting earlier, but did anybody else notice WFMU's new homepage theme yet?

Anyway, wonderful show as usual, Therese. You have a great, fun, and safe Thanksgiving, okay? =)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:58am coelacanth:

Thanks Therese!
'night all.
Avatar 3:00am BadGuyZero:

Have a great week everyone! See you back here next time. Except for Therese.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:01am pacific standard simon:

@Steve-O - There's been talk. Look up.
