I tell you, Mike, when it comes to garage rock, power pop, and hard driving psychedelia, no jock on FMU has better ears than you.

Where's your regular slot?

I only heard this "House of Bamboo" nuthouse for the first time about a year ago. I was like, "OMG this is probably the greatest song ever recorded!" Thanks for sharing it with an unsuspecting world.

@Todd I remember it when it was released. I think they were Adam Faith's backup band. Ever heard his song 'Green Finger'? A belter.

@Brian in UK: "I Don't Need That Kind of Lovin'" is the winner for me in the Adam Faith/Roulettes pairing.

I'm perusing the playlist and noticed "Zachariah". I first heard of the movie just last Sunday on David Ossman's birthday. The Firesign Theatre wrote it, based on Hesse's "Siddhartha". I saved it on my youtube "Watch Later" list:

It looks like Andy Williams' "House of Bamboo" came out after the Samuel Fuller film of the same name. Probably no connection, right?

Agree Mike, that Colin Blunstone version was, to put it in a phrase from the time, terrific!

And how come that Pink Floyd EP is available only in such limited numbers to make it $300 on eBay? To put it in a phrase from the time - pathetic!
