Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27am Frank Above:

JoeB: That Red Squares track has always been on my short-list of songs to cover. Haven't quite gotten around to it yet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:30am Miss Mailas:

It's frosty everywhere, MS! Currently a brisk -22 celsius here in the Montreal area.

Speaking of that 2005 Maxwells show, The Redwalls cancelled a FMU session that same day for reasons unknown. Guess they were getting too big for us.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Kantner reportedly the only one on every Airplane record. Becomes apparent how crucial his Rickenbacker & writing were tho' not a limelight addict...
Avatar 11:40am Mailman Tom:

Thanks for the Signe Anderson tribute, Mike. Amazingly, there is a short video of her and the Airplane performing at the Fillmore Auditorium in SF in October 1966 and it's on YouTube.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

The Airplane are thee Sound of San Francisco in some deep & indefinable ways.
  11:41am Uncle Michael:

it sounds like Jack Casady mixed THIS Jefferson Airplane track.
Avatar 11:41am Joe B:

Almost there, definitely in my top 10 b sides of all time
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42am Frank Above:

@Marc: Thanks! Always thankful for the support and glad to hear people like it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43am Frank Above:

@Glenn: Thanks man! The Gary Howatt thing is an inside joke. Todd-o-Phonic once called me "the Gary Howatt of The Above" on the air, so I just ran with it.

Swag For Life Member 12:14pm dinatekno:

Was that cool apple cider a special psychedelic brew?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:20pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

  1:00pm P-90:

Thanks, Mike Sin! Outstanding show today.
  10:49am Mark Dillman:

Here's an email I just sent to close friends:

DJ Mike Sin, filling-in for absent Michael Shelly, on WFMU Saturday morning did a brilliant bit of song sequencing. He played a new song by yet another Daptone label artist who recreates 1960s soul music with exciting accuracy. We heard “(Let’s All Do the) Chicken Switch” by the James Hunter Six. That alone is worth sharing with like-minded friends but the DJ sandwiched this song between Sam Cook and Eddie Floyd both from the 1960s. The grove was seamless. The decades that separated these records were meaningless. I was impressed.
