Because I was also going to play "Heroes" today. I have some inside information about David Bowie that I was going to share on the air this morning. VERY big news. But sad. I will reveal all, later on this morning.
"Consume" reminds me: People I know of completely different (often mutually opposing) political stripes each project their own politics on that movie, but I'm the only one who sympathizes w the side the movie plays as the bad guys.
I have no doubt that NASA is preparing to send Bowie's remains to Mars on their next spacecraft there. Why else would they have recently changed their plans? www.cnn.com...
I also have a hankering for the sound of molars on celery with opened mouth. What do you say Ken? Bowie slurping Farina? Yes? Whatever, just don't play any crap.
If you can find it, there is an old Audio Kitchen episode where a guy is singing Bowie while in the bathroom. The professor refers to it as "Bathtub Bowie". Wish I could remember the date though.
@Schmoo. Ziggy Bathtub. Scott Williams played it on his show Monday.

Tony Seymour:
yeah Lloyd......being from Detroit i thought it was a hoax for the new recording just released.....then the news just kept coming in like a WAVE....no hoax. sadly
You should probably pay some Peter Schilling, although I will probably regret that when you announce that DB will be replacing Fred Durst in Limp Bizkit.
A very Ken-like tribute today. Thank you Mr. McFreedman for all you do and this in particular! Bowie was an inspiration to us all - just look what he's done to you....

Wendy del Formaggio:
Ken, what about Chris Palestis' cover of "Under Pressure"?
Occasionally my FMU stream will degrade to bursts of sound and silence every second or so, giving rhythmic impressions of whatever is being played. Until this moment I thought this was an impressionist DJ aesthetic that you hadl adopted.
there's a great version of "Hang On To Yourself" on John's premium - it's by Charles DeGoal, or something. Not sure what track # it is...maybe 16 (it's not noted on his CD).
@Rich in Wash: Yeah, that came out in 1974. I imagine very few people who were Babs fans in '74 knew Bowie's music and I expect many of them had never heard of him. God only knows what they made of the lyrics in that song.
