I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

Darvon Pike:

II am reminded of a certain incessant hum that used to eminate from my cellar. An electronic sound, though not of the typical 60-cycle variety. Rather, this was something else. Something unnerving. So much so that one evening I took it upon my self to take a sledgehammer to a wall down there, to see if I might locate the source of this chronic hum; this maddening buzz which had begun to invade my every waking moment, and often would stir me from my fitful slumber at night. After a few well-placed blows with the heavy hammer, and a good bit of flying dust and debris, I was able to pinpoint the source of the noise. A tiny, silver device of some sort. Smooth and featureless. Cold to the touch. It vibrated slightly, and when I placed my fingers upon it, a mild shock of some sort passed through me, and I was left dizzy and nauseous. In the course of the next few weeks I lost weight, my vision deteriorated. My mental state corroded to the point where I was eventually institutionalized and diagnosed as being delusional, paranoid, and unfit to walk amongst my fellow men. As for the device itself, it disappeared from the drawer in which I had hidden it, even though I am quite sure that no one took it. It seemed to have been teleported away somewhere. By whom or what entity, I do not know. I can only say that, in its absence, my health and vigor returned, my thoughts cleared, and I was released from my involuntary incarceration at the institution. I have never spoken of the device since then, until now. Until this music reminded me of it.

You may be confusing Darvon with me. I am a trombonist who occasionally posts here. As far as Kim Suk Chul, no, I never had the pleasure. I was, however, recently asked to lay down a couple of tracks on a Nurse With Wound 12" that is to be released some time in 2016 in Laos (of all places). Unfortunately, I recently underwent a hip replacement and I am still convalescing, which is why I listen to Bryce. I was able to "phone in" a performance which may or may not be included on a new Joan As Police Woman MP4 slated for release in the Omaha-Kansas City area in the fall. This is part of the NEw Regionalism movement we've all been hearing so much about.

Lyle:

Avatar 1:47pm
Wild Neil:

@Lyle-ok, you don't have to answer me. No big deal.
  1:49pm
Lyle:

Since you asked, Wild Neil, New Regionalism is an emerging movement started by popular American singer, John Davidson, in the late 70's. Initially designed to rekindle the fun and romance of records which were released only in specific areas of the country (before rampant commercialism and demographic fascism forced all music to be accepted nationwide or die on the vine) - New Regionalim is now coming back hard with tailor-made releases targeted at specific "Hot" markets such as Omaha-Kansas City, and Paducah-Berea. This has worked well for bands like Joan as Police Woman, but not so much for more established and successful artists such as Pablo Cruise and Clay Aiken. Where it's all leading, whoc can know? One thing's certain, John Davidson's back-catalog is moving like hasn't been seen in recent memoryl, and no one, I mean no one, could deny that!

As I am typing this in my small kitchen, I am transfixed by the pattern which repeats and repeats on my linoleum. To clarify, I should state that the linoleum was already installed when I moved in. This was long ago. 1973. Of course, now it is worn and scuffed by my bootheels and the bootheels of the visitors who have come and gone since that time. Mostly they have gone. Still, the linoleum remains, and so does the repeating pattern embossed on the dulled surface of each individual tile. I look down always, and I see the little Dutchman and his windmill. Over and over and over again. The little Dutchman and his windmill. But, today he moved! The little Dutchman I was staring at ... he moved his leg! I saw him! And the windmill turned! Oh, I am not well. I am not well today.

Great show, Bryce. The Blue Chemise reminded me of the time I played 4th 'bone for George Shearing in support of his Blue Chiffon LP. Shearing was blind, but he was stubborn, so he insisted on driving the tour bus whenever possible. I would often sit next to him and bark out directions, but sometimes I was unable to keep him from sideswiping parked autos or even striking the occasional pedestrian. The funniest moment was the time he drove the bus directly into the Holiday Inn Pool in Lawrence, Kansas, after a particularly unsuccessful gig there. I can't say that George did it on purpose, though he was irritated and he seemed to be ignoring my directions. At any rate, this behavior pre-dated Keith Moon's car/pool antics by a couple of decades. Shearing was ahead of his time. Just like you, Bryce.
Avatar Bryce's Tooth Marathon 2024 Swag For Life Member 3:04pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

@βrian - (If you're still here.) The male owl fetches swamp rats and brings them to a nearby branch. The female owl then brings the dead rats to the nest and feeds them to the owlets. I learned that from the comments section of the owl cam page.
