Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from March 11, 2016 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

Lyle:

Great story about Holger. I was touring with John Gary's band circa 66-67, playing a lot of Midwestern dates. I believe we were in Stanton, Iowa doing some type of Kiwanis pancake breakfast and, oddly enough, a young Holger Czukay was playing licorice stick for us. We saw him being approached by a middle-aged woman who insisted that he was Folgers Czukay. "No, no, madame," he insisted. "My name is Holger." Turns out she was the well-known "Mrs. Olson" of the Folger's commercials fame. She is a native of Stanton, Iowa, where the town water tower is shaped like a coffee pot in her honor.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm

@Lyle: Nice! I have met Holger a couple of times; he's just the nicest guy.

Yes! It works! I did it in Peapack. It helped! Put the end of your dipole antenna in a sliced-open new potato. It improves reception.

The story is way too good for me to not take his word for it.

@Ken, somehow reverse for me? I plug my phone into the cigarette lighter fitted w/ usb charger and reception tanks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

@Private Presley - Yes, I used to have a charger like that and it would worsen the reception when I plugged it in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm

I slather the entire receiver in mashed potatoes. Sounds great! Well, during this program it does anyway.

@John Feckner-Music Tip 102-A friend of mine told me back in the 90's he saw Souxie Sioux after a concert and said "I have loved your music ever since I was a kid". That. Don't do.

As a counterpart to bed music premiums, there ought to be a child's vaguely creepy nap-time premium.

Lyle:

Oddly, David Clayton-Thomas believed in telecult powers. At least he did when I toured with BS&T circa 71-72. I recall that we had just finished a poorly attended gig in Taos. To sooth his hurt feelings, David evidently dipped into his little medicine bag and took a little something to take the edge off things. A 1/4 pound peyote button! As we got nearer to Roswell, he began to visibly become agitated in his seat. "I'll be levitating in a matter of three minutes or less," he told us, "they have chosen me with their telecult powers." He didn't elaborate on who "they" were, and he never did levitate. As the peyote slowly wore off, he gravitated toward his bunk and passed out. We all chuckled quietly in our seats. Those were such heady times.
