Amanda! Good. To hear your voice,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:03pm Dominick:

  12:03pm P-90:

OK, excuse the strange punctuation, I'm commenting from iPad and the FMU IOD app sometimes does funny things with comments...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04pm Amanda:

This feeling we feel: is it wrong? Is it right? Is it real?
  12:04pm P-90:

[ IOS app] see? It messes with me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:07pm Amanda:

P-90, it's OK. It is like bad closed-captioning, you can understand roughly what is being said. ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:08pm Ken From Hyde Park:

A song honoring National Walking Day? Good! www.heart.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm Amanda:

@Ken HP, totally unintentional obvs, I love when that happens though. Of course for me every day is NWD.
Avatar 12:11pm steve:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm Amanda:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:21pm Amanda:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm Amanda:

greetings Doug Schulkind and all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm coelacanth:

i thought that was "there is" at first. i never realised the similarity.
Avatar 12:24pm KP:

Ha. Mariannes.
  12:25pm listener james from westwood:

How do, Amanda and all! Busy unpacking and whatnot but listening while airing out my stinkables!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm Brian C.:

And I thought you'd play "When I'm Walking" by Jonathan Richman
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm Jeff Golick:

Avatar 12:29pm steve:

i go for a long walk at least once every two weeks to try to turn my brain off - most common path is from the northern to southern tip of Brooklyn (Greenpoint to Coney Island), about 13 miles. my record is Greenpoint to Coney Island and back (probably 25-30 miles) in 9-10 hours.
Avatar 12:29pm @sugarwolf@:

I did a lot of walking on Friday! I think it amounted to at least 2.5 miles...
Avatar 12:30pm @sugarwolf@:

ok, now I feel I need to step it up (ha!) reading about steve's walks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm coelacanth:

Clarence is the man!
Avatar 12:34pm ndbob:

afternoon Amanda and everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:37pm Doug Schulkind:

Walk and roll!
Avatar 12:37pm steve:

i worked my way up over 6+ months sugarwolf. good to start small. i started with a regular 1 mile walk from work to the subway, and worked my way up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:41pm Amanda:

@Brian C, ooh, that one would've been sweet also.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:46pm Amanda:

I think all my playlist info has now been filled in and spelled right. Maybe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm Dominick:

It was the trousers
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm doctorjazz:

Hi all, checking in.
  12:54pm Dean:

Good timing, Doug. Today is my 10-year-old's school's monthly "walk/roll" to school day. We walked. Rolling gets one dusty, albeit without gathering moss.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm Jeff Golick:

Living in NYC, I feel like I do not take advantage of the cultural buffet on offer at all times, but I make up for it by walking all over the place. It's one of my favorite things to do in the city, just walk around. (In fact, there's a Marshall Crenshaw song that sums it all up nicely...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm doctorjazz:

Is this JM in the AM?
  1:04pm MONEYBAG$:

We had to sing this in elementary school, which was kind of weird
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:07pm Amanda:

Yeah, seems like one that we'd sing in school too -- a parochial (Episcopalian) school that went to lengths to represent many cultures... but I somehow managed not to know it until later.
  1:07pm MONEYBAG$:

Pallets are so rad
Avatar 1:10pm KP:

Pallets and warehouses are gone (for most part). Everything is on trucks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:14pm Amanda:

I saw a ton of pallets the last time I was at Mitsuwa Mart
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm Dominick:

Might Lullaby of Love be arranged by Charles Calello?
  1:18pm listener james from westwood:

Amazing amazing ep on many levels.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Brian C.:

When my wife and I went to the hospital when she was about to have our first kid, I remember The Simpsons being on the TV at the waiting room. It was kind of riveting, and it seemed so wrong to be distracted!
  1:19pm listener james from westwood:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Image search for "world's largest pallet pile" brought some interesting results. www.google.com...
  1:21pm listener james from westwood:

So Sam Simon was to casting the ep as Smithers was to recruiting the team!
Avatar 1:34pm Roberto:

It's okay Brian, I watched golf while waiting for my wife to deliver our first.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm listener james from westwood:

"Ken Griffey and his grotesquely swollen jaw!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm Ken From Hyde Park:

The evening of my dad's last full day on earth, I kept looking up at the NFL Pro Bowl game that was on the TV.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm listener james from westwood:

"Still better than working for Steinbrenner" got a huge laugh from my more baseball-inclined fellow viewers at the time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm Doug Schulkind:

More than thirty years ago, Terry Cashman created separate versions of "Talkin' Baseball" customized for each Major League team. I sent away for and still have my 45rpm Baltimore Orioles version.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Oh well. I guess it's not your fault. You did a good job.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm Doug Schulkind:

Say hey! Say hey! Say hey!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm Amanda:

I did a goood job... a GOOOOOD job!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm Nate K.:

Word has come down that Merle Haggard has passed on. Bummer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45pm Amanda:

Avatar 1:45pm ndbob:

wow Nate
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm Jeff Golick:

Well, 2016 continues to be the suckiest suck that ever sucked.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm Jeff Golick:

@Doug: Terry Cashman >>> Brian Cashman
  1:47pm Rich in NC:

nice spring time show --thank you
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm listener james from westwood:

Balls. And on his birthday no less.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm Jeff Golick:

FLOTUS gets a shout-out. Glad I got headphones on here at work.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm Nate K.:

@ndbob, it was not my intention to disrupt Amanda or her show with the news. My apologies if that offended you in some way. This is a music-heavy chat board, and I simply assumed it was information that would interest people. My apologies to anyone else who this prematurely bummed out.
Avatar 1:52pm ndbob:

nah Nate - very glad you told us:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Great show.Great Simpson's Time. Crappy news!
Avatar 1:53pm ndbob:

@nate I do the same thing in chat when I hear of a death
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm Nate K.:

@ndbob, got it. Second-guessed myself there for a minute!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm Amanda:

No offense taken from anyone! @Nate, glad you alerted all of us! And UGH, so sad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Avatar 1:58pm ndbob:

Avatar 1:58pm ndbob:

excellent show Amanda!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58pm KevinfromBayRidge:

FMU/GTDS Community definitely does NOT kill the messenger, Nate!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm listener james from westwood:

Many thanks, Amanda!
Nate, I think chat board folk faced the same decision during Therese's show re: David Bowie. If I have to find out things like this anywhere, I'd rather find out from fellow FMU folks.
Avatar 1:59pm KP:

bye, Amanda! Nice Merle song
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm Amanda:

Bye, everyone! Thank you so much for listening today!
