Awesome Ken! If you want to stick with the J-Rock, I also like the Polysics cover of "Domo Abrigato Mr. Roboto" (don't worry, it sounds almost nothing like the original)
Ha! I don't think I've mentioned them before, but I did like that one song of theirs where they're joking about the green dress and eating Kraft dinner.
I just converted my 16 year old son to WFMU. Here comes the next generation!! It was "I Am The Walrus" that did it. There's no turning back for him, now.
Perhaps I'm reading too much into this... but my immediate thought on hearing ths rather scary ominous ghastly sounding track to open the show is that if Trump, now virtually even in the polls, really is elected prez, it's going to be Halloween 365 days of year. But the razor blade and getting egged halloween - not the cute kids in their bunny costumes and miniature candy bar halloween.

Rob W,
Trump is not only even in the polls, he IS already leading the presidential race poll according to RCP polling!
C'mon Bernie supporters! I count on you! Go Trump! WW3 for the lols!!
Well the Democrats are hell-bent on nominating the more untrustworthy candidate who just might be getting federally indicted during the election, because she supposedly knows "how to work with Republicans" or some shit like that. *shrug*
Peace everybody. Got my FMU sticker in the mail, put it on my car! Hope to network with others in my region (Western NY near Buffalo) who also partake. But NOT discuss politics.
One more comment and that's all - My friend was with my son and I on a 2 hour drive and she wanted to play the score from Hamilton and my son said "Quick, turn up WFMU!!!"
@Cliff this year's ultra-hot ultra-sexy broadway musical about Alexander Hamilton with a hip hop soundtrack accompanied by piano... or something like that.
And then it's 4 hours 40 minutes if I do the Thruway to 87 south. Also I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the City of Utica for inventing Utica greens.
Kvelertak are the masters of sampling riffs. One of their earlier hits, Blodtørst, sounds a lot like the riff from Zombie Nation - Kernkraft 400. The are a riot live, melted my face right off at Primavera a couple of years ago. @Cecile, are you a fellow norwegian WFMU listener, per chance ? Since you seem to able to decode Kvelertak lyrics and all ..
Could you please last week show as a rerun on Wednesday 24th June, 2031? It is the classic 'Ken's got double pranked by Andy' show! And don't forget Wed 6th of November, 2025 is for the 'Don McClean is dead prank' show.
While listening to the show I've been reading some funny stories about people taking off VR headsets and then forgetting they're in real reality now. www.reddit.com...

Killdozer has a cool song about a dog. I don't know if you guys are aware of it.
Funny thing is on last week's SSD Ken suspects there's a 'soundboard' involved and Andy asks "what is a soundboard?", which coming from an tech-iliterate sounds legitimate and thus torpedoing Ken's suspicions.
I liked his story about how that was recorded - apparently after a couple slow takes the producer brought in a lot of ribs and chicken and booze and he just belted it out. He has no memory of doing it though.
Seconding what cory said, I'll spend some money on the digital archives. Especially if we are looking at some integration with the existing archives and FMA, that would be the bees knees.
fuck kickstarter, fleep can fund it with his winnings

So for my birthday i got a horse training class, horse included. Did some free lunging and rode atop Ruby the gentle horse bareback. Horses are really cool i like them.
Yes Cory, not eveything will be downloadable or even open tot he public. But anybody who helps fund it will have streaming access at least to some degree.
Ken, last week you referred to Gwenno as the Katy Perry of Wales. You couldn't have been more wrong - I saw her perform last week in DC and she was sort of political and relentlessly gloomy. One thing about the Welsh language lyrics is that we can't understand what a downer many of these songs are. Granted it was at the end of her US tour and she seemed to be running on fumes, so maybe that date wasn't representative.
Speaking of weird B-movies... Sex and Broadcasting is showing at the Tryon Microcinema in Minneapolis on 8 June and I am hosting a MeetUp prior to the event at Squirrel Haus Arts. All you Twin Cities fmu folks are encouraged to join in the fun! send me friendship mail for more info!
I am late to today's game, but Ken, have you seen Charlie Daniel's NRA video that's making the rounds?
It has remix potential. Plus, like a lot of YouTube videos, it sounds better at 1/2 speed.
Saw S&B on Amazon last night -- wow, hats off to all of you for everything you do; I knew it was tough to keep things running, but didn't realize it was that tough!
Hey, is anybody in Cleveland or near Cleveland who can lend a couch or bed for a night or two for the WFMU Sportsy Talk team during the RNC convention in July?

I bought the Sex & Broadcasting pirate DVD in a street market in Thailand last year. When I played oh behold, it was a iPhone recorded version of 'Kung Fu Panda 3' shown in a movie theatre. Say no to piracy!
i was just listening to this brilliant Brigitte Fontane tribute LE BÉBÉ DE BRIGITTE (LOST IN TRANSLATION) by Darius Jones, then switched over to WFMU and Ken is playing Brigitte! Wonderful!

Whoa Charlie Daniels made Chuck Heston's 'from my cold dead hands' speech look tame. Talkin bout swamp folks and truckers and ...yehawww wheres my gun i gotta go blastin!
